After watching 202-204 It looks like fillers going be going on for at least a lil while longer, altho The filler was hecka good imo. I wouldn't mind the filler if it was all like this. Its kinda cool seeing some of the villiage's nin dirty laundry being put out in the air.

Plus all of my favorite peep where in this ep. I even laughed out loud at naruto, which i don't think ive EVER done. So for a filler /thumbs up I welcome more if its going to be like this.

I was rather pleased with the 60 min special or episodes 202-204. That was some good filler. Infact, instead of feeding us the useless BS they've been giving us since episode 134 (I think). It would be nice if they used this time on back stories. Like the missions that a lot of the jounin had during their time in kohona. I'm pretty sure Gai and friends had gone through some pretty intresting shit. Those campfire stories would make for some mighty fine filler if you ask me. Ino is a Mednin in the manga? Interesting. Can the sharingan affect more than one opponent?

I'm about to ask for some spoilers from the manga reading group, pleas PM me with the answer at your earliest convience. This has to do with the Kurenai story going on right now in the anime. That is if you watched it. Is what Yamuko said true? Did the 3rd really have her family killed for fear of their clan being to powerful? I think that's bullshit on her part. Because enough skilled ninja know how to dispell that shit. On top of that, they have/had sharingan and byakagun users all through the villiage and genjutsu has nearly zero effect on them. That just doesn't make since to me. I want to know what happens next?

Everyone forgets naruto's secret jutsu, his ability to make people love him and his ultimate ability to look like a person from someone's past and seemingly possess the similar attitude/smile/lines of that person that make people change drastically in a matter of seconds. Otherwise his new rasengan + wind he's working on, prolly will end up being sasuke's demise,or just being the rasengan but with the ability to be thrown and controlled by the wind by movign around a lot. More people need to die to make it better isntead of it just being a clone or miss the vital points by a bit. I vote they kill naruto and make shikamaru the main character ! Probably not going to happen but one can only wish ^^

Asuma did in fact give his life to protect Konoha, which is the sarutobi name. His death will and should change Naruto and others. It has already changed Shikamaru.

Well, I don't think the point of the teams splitting up was for them to fight by their lonesome, but to quicken the search. I don't think Tsunade's at fault here, seems like it would've been smarter on Team Asuma's part to simply trail the Akatsuki until reinforcements arrived. I think that was where they fucked up, they jumped in too quick.

I do think Tsunade's kind of dumb, but for other reasons... Like sending their Jinchuuriki, [potentially]their most powerful weapon, right in the face of the adversaries that wish to take it away from them. And for what, again? Some crap about being able to understand another Jinchuuriki more than anyone, giving people hope.

I know that I'm probably one of the very few, if there are any others, who is happy for this, but I'm happy he didn't do it. as far as the others, I'm glad he didn't off them too. if asked who I thought he could knock off, probably kiba. of course, he just HAD to go and rape my soul with the whole "let's make Sakura look tough" thing. So how would death develop Naruto's character?

Would death make Naruto more serious? He's already the most (annoyingly) stubborn and ambitious character in the series. He's certainly serious when he wants to be. Other than Sasuke, Sakura or Kakashi, I don't see how anyone's death would significantly affect Naruto beyond anything other than some little flashback about a random moment that has nothing to do with anything.

Death wouldn't make him smarter either. Not that I'd even prefer that; the fact that he's an idiot is half his charm.

So how would death develop Naruto's character?

Here's what I've been thinking.

The Sasuke Retrieval arc was all about "our friend has gone and done something stupid and we have to save him". And that was fine. But after the timeskip, it seemed to still be along those lines. Naruto is still on the "I gotta save Sasuke" kick.

If someone had died during the arc, it would have changed this dynamic so much. Naruto would have to deal with not just wanting to save his friend, but the fact that his friend's actions got a teammate killed. There would be a "I wanna save you, but I wanna kick your ass because Chouji/Neji/Kiba died because of you" angle, which could really push that rivalry to another level.

I dunno, for whatever reason when I heard about the timeskip, I imagined that the Sasuke/Naruto rivarly would become similar to Spike/Vicious in Cowboy Bebop. That didn't really happen.

What did you expect? Don't just say "something a lil' more elaborate"--be specific. When I think of "evil" organizations trying to gain some kind of ultimate power, they're either trying to dominate, or obliterate. Any others?
There really isn't much else you can do with a bunch of really powerfull bad-assed who decided to band together, is there?

For me, it'd be kind of cool if the Akatsuki turned out to be anti-heroes. Like, in each village there's so much political bullshit and corruption and what not, and the Akatsuki got tired of it and decided to take control of the situation. Unfortunately, that means wiping everything out and starting from scratch with them at the helm. Something like that.

But as many have pointed out, Naruto is a Shonen manga and that's quite possibly too much.

I am curious about Itachi though. He went from being the prodigal son, to losing faith in the clan, then killing them all and joining Akatsuki. What made him so angry with the Uchiha clan? Why did he really wipe them out? Is he really a "bad" guy? There's gotta be more to that story than what we know (I'm hoping at least).

The problem is AL is that Kishi has never explicitly shown us what he looks like. He's always been in shadows and shit.

In the fiction world, the only reason NOT to show a character/blatantly hide him is that you want to surprise the audience when you DO reveal his identity. Obviously, we're not going to be surprised by a total stranger, so that's where theories about the 4th come into play.

...The only other reason to hide a character is to drive the audience nuts trying to figure out who it is. Like Dr. Claw in Inspector Gadget.

Just caught up, I have to say the whole part in the lair was kind of bland and cliche feeling. I'm sure there was a lot of discussion about it before but I thought Sasuke looked kind of dumb.

It feels good to have akatsuki on the move and Naruto training again though. I hope all of the other characters don't get left too far behind.

Nevermind I guess I only downloaded to 316 the other day, now I'm up to date. I don't know about the whole Asuma thing, I guess I'm okay with it even if it was pretty obvious. It would have been better I think if it just came out of nowhere. Asuma has always been my favorite jounin. He was beastly good, I wish we would have gotten to see him fight more.

Does anyone else feel like Tobi being Obito would be just totally random and kind of ridiculous? I mean was he just sitting around bored one day thinking "Well, since I didn't die in the rocks like I was supposed to, I don't really have any plans for this week.
