It should. But I think there's a reason why Kishimoto was suddenly reminded of Kakashi's Evil Suppression Seal two chapters ago, when it was entirely absent throughout Sasuke's re-introduction in Volume 34.

I posted the theory in one of the past Naruto threads, when the issue of Team 7's growth was being discussed. Many thought that Orochimaru wouldn't make Sasuke strong enough to actually challenge him due to the possibility of his betrayal. I suggested that the Cursed Seal would provide Orochimaru with a sense of security, as he could use it to restrict Sasuke as he did Anko during the Chuunin Exam, therefore making Sasuke as strong as a container as he wishes.

Kakashi's Evil Suppression Seal could serve to counteract Orochimaru's hold over those with his Cursed Seals, and I think this may be the reason why Kishimoto was suddenly reminded of it(seriously, he completely forgot about it. It wasn't even shown in the Tankobon).

And it wasn't just one strong move that he learned throughout this training. Fuuton: Rasengan(and whatever he did when he used it with Yamato's Suiton), Fuuton: Rasenshuriken, Asuma's Hien, and the ability to apply the principles of these techniques to attain a complete mastery of Fuuton Ninjutsu, and he's aquired years of experience with 'em in a very short period. What he learned about Kage Bunshin changed his approach to battles entirely. They've all served to put him on that level--and he's not finished with his training just yet.

Naruto was already pretty exceptional before the training. Not strong enough to lay out the likes of Kakashi, or the Akatsuki(not without poppin' tails, anyways) but his foundation was already quite solid--exceptional speed, and strength, his timing with his two favorite Ninjutsu were very sharp. At the very least, he was at the level of a Tokubetsu Jounin, I think most of us can agree on that. Taking that into account, acknowledging that he's now at Kakashi's level isn't quite as hard to swallow.

The whole series is based on that. Even when they were Genins, they were still displayed in such a light that they could beat people that they shouldn't beat. When each character is introduced, they show some super new technique that makes them seem unbeatable.

This is what (IMM) ruined the manga/show. Now any time we see Naruto get in a fight, we know that in the end he'll win with this new move. And 99% of the fight, he'll spend it trying to get that move off.

For Naruto who supposively's hardest jutsu was bushin no jutsu, and would then be implied to being good at other types of jutsus. He never uses them. Heck, none of them do. Sakura was the same way. Except she doesn't have any super jutsus. She doesn't even use any jutsus anyway. Genjutsu? Ninjitsu? Taijutsu? She doesn't use any of it, despite being one of the most gifted ninjas in her own chi(chakra or whatever) manipulation.

Sakura uses her chakra manipulation to heal/deliver Tsunade level punches. I did think it was weird that she was built up as an expert genjutsu user, and yet she never uses them.

Sakura doesn't know any Genjutsu. Based on what we've seen thus far, all she knows is how to effectively cancel them. What's been stressed since the Chuunin Exam is that she has great talent for Genjutsu, but it's a talent that has yet to be exploited. And seeing as how Naruto and Sasuke aren't too far off from reaching legendary status, Sakura's probably going to be introduced to Genjutsu fairly soon in order to keep up with 'em.

Kurenai appears to be off-duty... She has time to kill. ;)

Sakura is able to use Medical Ninjutsu so well due to her precision chakra control, and she's able to enhance her strength, and gain quick burst of speed(see: Chuunin Exam Preliminary Match against Ino).

I wouldn't be too sad to see Orochi go, I feel that he's effectively played his role. Actually, now would probably be the best time for him to bow out.

It's common knowledge that Naruto/Sasuke/Sakura have been set up to become the new Jiraiya/Orochimaru/Tsunade, but I dunno, I still feel it's a little too soon to have them be "legendary". Especially Naruto and Sakura. Sasuke is a little more believeable. He does have the Uchiha blood/Sharingan, and was always built up to be exceptional in his own right. It didn't seem so pre-timeskip, but we can probably chalk that up to some really bad matchups (Haku, Orochimaru, Gaara...) and then jobbing to the Anime Universal Constant that states that the title character must be the one to win the final battle.

What I really want to see though, is for Sasuke to STAY evil. Or even, get worse. I'd doubt it, given that this is a kids anime and "friendship will conquer all" or whatever, but still, it would be great for Sasuke to become the big bad villain of the latter half of the story.

I can see this going two ways: Either Sasuke can't handle Orochimaru which will make it all the more important to go rescue/back-up Sasuke since he's now played the double traitor card ('not sure how they would find out before it's too late though), or Sasuke wins thus completely shifting everyone's focus on the Akatsuki members and they run into each other from there.

If sasuke beats up orchi it setups things much better than him killing orchi or getting beat by him. Beating orchi shows he has the power to take on Akatsuki on a one on one level. Orchi needs to live because he's more of a villian than "anyone" else in the entire show imo. Also it makes for many more intresting possiblites.

Or he might get totally pwned by orchi and orchi use's that to push him over the edge so that he actually starts killing....

One of the things that was so promising about Naruto in the beginning is that it didn't seem like it was gonna be one of those stories with one main villain. When I first saw Orochimaru, I thought he would be cool, and he'd definitely be around for a little while. Fuck, that was five years ago. I've had enough. Kill this fucker off already.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a good way to kill him off quickly at this point. Anything too quick would be rather anti-climactic. I'd like for this encounter with Sasuke to be the beginning of Orochimaru's end.

Personally, I'd like to get this over with, and finally tackle the Itachi thing too. Itachi is way too interesting to go for so long with nothing. I watched an episode with Itachi the other day, and his character is just so interesting. He doesn't seem evil at all. Even up until the point where he kills everyone. He just doesn't seem bad at all. I'd really like to get more out of his character, and kill off all the dead weight to the story (Orochi, Suna, random worthless nin...).

I'm sick of Akatsuki. Let's just get that shit done with. Flesh out Jiraiya more. Honestly, I'd like for all the Sannin to just disappear too. They're worthless characters at this point. Kishi should build on them for one arc, and let them go away/die.

This shit just got way too boring and convoluted way too quickly.

Kishi's showing promise again though. Maybe he can clean this shit up.

Funny that you say that, since the first thing that I thought after reading the translation was that Sasuke had already managed to kill Kabuto. (Given the recent shitty death of Kakuzu, I don't think that it would all that surprising, unfortunately, if ever-so interesting Kabuto got an off screen death.)

I kind of agree with Havoc, except that it isn't so much being sick of Orochimaru since I follow this so damn casually, but realizing that there's still a bunch of crap left to resolve. Yeah the soundtrack has been really good. I am enjoying the anime very much.

Like I said, Naruto is like my dirty little pleasure. It's like anime porn. We ALL watch it, but I'm not going to go bragging about it. That would just be gross.

I'd like to put in my prediction now, officially and 400 some-odd chapters ahead:

Orochimaru WILL take over Sasuke. Some stuff will happen, very reminiscent of pretty much every time this has ever happened in a story ever. OroSasuke will talk mad shit, fight Naruto while wearing Sasuke's face, and probably at some point capture/injure Sakura, of course enraging Naruto. Naruto and Sasuke fight, the Power of Love makes Sasuke's consciousness wake up (remember when Orochimaru explained the body-switch to the last host? You don't lose yourself completely), and he takes his body back over. Then they make out and live happily ever after as the 6th Hokage and his wife.

Also, Kabuto works for the 4th, always has.

They can't quickly knead precise amounts of chakra throughout their body like Sakura can. Those who've mastered Jyuuken Taijutsu are only capable of expelling chakra from every tenketsu on their body.

Different types of chakra control. Jyuuken, and the Byakugan should give them some kind of edge in that field though.

nahh i prefer if they did this, not really interested in watching all diffrent kinds of anime thats probably why though, im getting old, it would be nice to just have a lil tradition on the side to watch regularly with content in between content, adds depth to a solid story, instead of adding all kinds of stupid long twists and turns that end up straying away from the soul of each character, just to keep the show alive.

To add my opinion to the mix, I think the very thing that Orochimaru wants sasuke for (other than some surprise buttsechs)could end up being the thing that shoots him in the foot. that thing being the Sharingan. seals or no seals, that one weapon seems to give quite an advantage to the owner. maybe it can indeed be enough to help Sasuke overcome any hold Orochimaru has on him. Still, Kabuto would make it a two-on-one and that isn't going to be easy to beat. finally, I'm actually waiting for the next chapter to see what happens.

Ironically, "Quoted for truth" applies here.

And, yeah, the Sharingan is crazy powerful; this particular couple of chapters make even more disappointed that we don't get to see more of the Byaakugan since the Sharingan is supposedly (maybe) related to that, Neji is a Jounin and Hinata is still better than Sakura for Naruto.
