Quick theory here:

I don't think that we'll figure out whether or not Orochi died or if he took over Sasuke's body. I'm very sure that Kishi is not going to disclose that for another 10 chapters or so...he's gonna want us to sit on edge and keep us at bay so that he can make the suspense last. I'm pretty sure that we're gonna go to the Akatsuki in the next chapter...see there plans, see their development, and then finally back to Konoha for more training and shit for Naruto.

Or I could be completely wrong...maybe we'll see whether or not Sasuke killed that sick bastard or not.

Btw, the first page of the manga looks TOTALLY like something out of a fucking Yaoi doujin

who knows, I mean think about it. Since he tried this before and it didnt work, he had to expect the same thing was going to happen. The only thing that is different this time with this Sharigan user is that Sasuke doesnt nearly have as much experience with Jitsu of this kind, and two, Sasuke has the "cursed seal". I wouldn't put it past Orochi to have put something in that cursed seal that cancels out certain jitsu's or the extent of its use. So like he said, this bodys mine, seems like he was waiting Sasukes counter and then was like Dave Chappelle "Gotcha Bitch", and took that body. Guess we'll find out soon.

The scene changes to Tsunade's group performing an autopsy on Kakuzu. Due to the effects of the new jutsu such as cells being completely destroyed and damage to his tenketsu, Naruto is prohibited from using the jutsu. And everything ends with a new character called "Suigetsu"* coming out from Orochimaru's hideout with Sasuke.

Yeah, if you look at the scene where it says, "You should get the point", there's something a bit interesting.

*Suigetsu is made using the kanji for "water" and "moon". It's short for 鏡花水月 (kyou-ka-sui-getsu), an analogy for poetry in Japanese, where the true meaning of poetry can't be described in words. The literal meaning is something I quote from the dictionary and it states: "as the moon reflects on the water, the flowers reflect on a mirror."

I have to agree with this. Ever since Sasuke has gotten the curse seal he has had a rediculous powerup. It is really annoying that Naruto's changes have been small.

I'm gonna have to disagree with most folks here, I think Sasuke taking Oro out was awesome. If you think about it, it's the only way it could've gone. A possessed Sasuke being beaten by Naruto means next to nothing, he has to beat the man with no cheap advantages (or cop-outs like Oro being in charge) to truly get over that predestined shounen hurdle. Sasuke had to win, IMO.

Now I'm interested in Suigetsu, the possibility that he may be a she would turn EVERYTHING on it's ass...say goodbye, Sasuke and Sakura shippers. Not to mention put his motives for offing Oro into serious question. Maybe all that ass-whupping was over a girl, now that would be grand.

And the ultimate show of just how far he would go to keep his promise, going 4-tailed Kyuubi even though it killed him slowly and took away his humanity to do so.

Fortunately for our boy Naruto, everything he's done for Sakura struck her dead in the face when she saw him go 4-tailed. Nowadays, it looks more and more like the feelings are no longer one-sided.

I gotta say, you bring up some excellent points. I really can't argue with any of them. However, I do honestly believe that if Naruto were to tell Hinata about him being a vessel for the Demon Fox, she would totally understand and the two could grow closer. IIRC, Hinata was the first person Naruto beared his soul to, in that, he told her that he only acts tough to cover up the fact the he screws up all the time and that he's tired of failing. Hinata told Naruto that because he always picks himself up that he truly is a strong person. This was one of the few instances where someone had to cheer up Naruto.

When I saw Hinata after the time skip, I was really surprised at her new long. Long hair and dang, that rack!! Where da heck did those come from?! Even after the time skip, Sakura still got crapped on in the area of puberity. She looks as flat as card board.

In the end, it is probably up to the creator who Naruto ends up with. But considering the lack of panel time in the manga post-time skip Hinata has gotten, it doesn't look that good for her.

But storywise it doesn't even need a romance until they get the plot moving, beyond meet supposedly invincible badguy, fight and then anticlimatic win. But that is my opinion.

I really think that the "Chuunin exams" are going to be coming up sometime soon (at least I kind of hope so). Thats been something thats been slept on ever since the time slip.
It wouldn't really make sense to do the chuunin exams again though.

The only person who is still a Genin is Naruto. So he'd have to find two other Genin to partner with, and aside from the Konohamaru gang there aren't any. Even if Naruto did enter the exam, he'd just end up beasting on everybody.

Unless Kishi tries to introduce some unusually strong Genin from other villages, ie The Sand Trio. But then that's more characters thrown upon the pile of characters we already have.

Naruto, to me, is a lot less plausible. But, I guess it works, if you consider that Naruto is the ninja version of a tank. Nothing fancy, you know what's coming...but that still doesn't mean you can stop it. Out of the three, Sakura's progression is the most surprising, but I think I'll forgive it since she's actually not completely useless anymore.

I would just like to see at least a bit of development of the supporting cast again. Naruto used to be amazing in the way it would utilize the Rookie Nine and their teachers, plus the Sannin in developing the overall story and fleshing out the main characters through counterpoint.

The teamwork and multi character cohesion has just been lost as of late in the series, its just one of the main characters going into solo mode and defeating enemies with little more strategy or intellect than that of a charging bull. Even the last arc exemplified the change.

Instead of a multi pronged battle where all of the Konoha Ninjas team up to defeat the supposedly "god elite" Akatsuki, Naruto just powers up, solos with his OMFG WTF technique and it's over. It's just dissapointing, since Kishi had showed previously he could write much more interesting scenarios than what we are currently seeing.

yeah I definitely think Orochimaru MUST be in Sasuke's mind at least, especially after Sasuke said "I've taken over". I mean, otherwise, Sasuke was right this whole time and he wasn't going to get any stronger being with Konoha, and Kakashi, Naruto, and the rest were all wrong. It'd also mean the cursed seal wasn't even that much of a bad thing at all. Kakashi saying that if Sasuke relies on the cursed seal, he'd never be able to beat Itachi would also be wrong.

I'm guessin maybe Orochimaru will pop up in a very stressful encounter Sasuke has, or maybe when he uses the Cursed seal or some shit like that.

And Tsunade sayin that even medical ninjutsu won't be able to help heal naruto if he uses Rasen-Shuriken too much proly means he's gonna rely on Kyuubi again to heal him or osme shit.

On DBZ comparisions...

Actually I just see Naruto not so much like Goku, but sort of a more annoying ninja version of Yusuke from Yu Yu Hakashu. Basically they don't have the charm of the usual main leads, but they have some power other folk don't have, noble traits and can be clever when needed. At least in the beginning that is what it seemed like.

It is just sad that recently, Naruto has been more 'DBZ-style' in having Naruto just muscle his way through battles with power ups and super move finishes.

Although I do hope the supporting cast gets their time to shine, I'm guessing that guys like Kiba, Ino, Choji and etc will stay in the background until they die.

If Naruto has resolved to using his chakara and not Kyuubi's chakara (under the advice from Yamato), then why is he using Kyuubi's chakara for his new jutsu? I guess it requires so much chakara that his own chakara by itself isn't enough.

That makes sense. I've been wondering if Kyuubi will ever be extracted from Naruto's body. Someone could just do what they did with Gaara so he'd be brought back. I'd love to see what Naruto could do without Kyuubi. The Fourth didn't have a demon in him and he still managed to be a beast. Who's to say Naruto can't. I think that was already discovered during the "Elemental training" chapters....some bunshin's would go crazy and just turn into kyuubi powered bunshin's.

Remember that even though bunshin's can do Rasengan, the chakra is still split in many ways when split up so drastically.....

I really want to see some massive training....within the next chapters, I want to see Naruto and all of his bunshin's fighting all of Konoha's finest....in doing so, he can not only learn at a rapid rate, however his experience can be exponentially increased too.....bleh, whatever.

Yeah, that scene was more than likely at the very end of Shippuden, and will be revisited, at which time Naruto will either let Sasuke stab him, or cause him to stab himself...or Sakura realizes Sasuke sucks ass, and will get herself owned to protect Naruto, whom she will come to care about very deeply during the Shippuden arc. *shrug* Eh.

Suigetsu: The swords of the Seven Swordsmen are passed down from generation to generation. I looked up to the Seven Swordsmen and trained so yeah…with this sword I probably wouldn’t lose even to you. Plus if we’re going to let Juugo join us then I figured that this sword would come in handy.

I think I would've liked Suigetsu much more if that attitude wasn't just an act to test Sasuke.

This was unexpected, them going back to the Great Naruto Bridge, Suigetsu being Zabuza's successor and taking his sword. I kinda like where this is headed. And this new chick sounds crazy, in a good way.

WTF @ Kabuto. For a character who's ambitions are supposedly even darker than Orochimaru's, the guy's not really doing much, no?

Given that I still haven't read much of the manga, I had a sort of theory about a possible use of his character besides apparently useless henchmen: Was there ever a reason given why Kimimaro came down with that disease he had? If not, then does anyone think that it's possible that Kabuto could have engineered? (Well, at least, do they think it's possible before this turn of events where he was apparently had nothing to do with Sasuke attacking Orochimaru exactly when he was at his weakest.)

It's just a weird thought that occurred to me, really.

It's the popular theory, but I don't think it's anything quite that drastic. Since Sasuke took over Orochimaru's soul, and basically reversed what Orochimaru was intending to do to Sasuke... Then, at the least, Orochimaru's strong intentions are now residing in Sasuke's subconscious. It's doubtful that Sasuke has inherited all of Orochimaru's memories/jutsu knowledge.

... If he did, that would make him even more of a monster than he already is at the moment. D:
