I'm suprised that there isn't more discussion on the manga chapter. It was really good, and it's only the second time in the series where I noticed Itachi being "weak" (The first was when Kakashi told him he was blind). Also, seeing Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, and the rest of team Snake get props from Akatsuki was too good.

And when are we gonna get to see another battle where Naruto fights to protect people that's on the same scale as the one where he battled Gaara? A fight like that needs to occur again and every shinobi in Konoha needs to see it.

My only gripe is i think they should have kept the real names of the moves. Not shadow clone jutsu--but have this dude saying kagebunshin no jutsu.

but that's just something small, overall i have no problems watching it--i just feel sorry for kids who tivo it and have to see the stupid cartoon network logo all over the damn place.

I like dub Gai's voice, as well as Itachi's. Not so much Naruto's, but I think it's okay. I enjoy dubbed (adult swim) Bleach more from an aural standpoint, however.

naruto dub is terrible in comparison to bleach, i especially hate kakashi's voice, gai's voice really fits though, i love when he says "kakaaaaaassshi" lol problem is with naruto is that it has so many fucking characters and theres very few top notch north american anime voice actors to fill in for all those characters.

bleach dub is good shit minus gin, hitsugaya and a few other people's voices. johnny yong bosch as ichigo ftw. i think VIZ handled bleach way better than they did naruto. bleach dub is so good that when i'm reading the manga i actually read with some of the english voices in my head if that makes any sense.

Naruto dub is fine IMO. Gaara sounds especially creepy, which is fine with me. However, since they've gotten past the Konoha Destruction arc and now that Gaara isn't all "Kill everyone who isn't Meeeeee!!!!!!1111", I really curious as to what he'll sound like.

Speaking of Gaara, Shikaku in the dub version was rather... loud and sound overly excited. I guess even flameboyant. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it sounded bad, but it definitly wasn't the type of voice I was expecting from a killing machine. Did he sound similar in the sub version?

There's a proposal to form two teams in order to restrain Akatsuki.

Suddenly, someone is called.
Kakashi says "Alright, Please enter"

There's a scene change to Sasuke's group.

They've apparently headed to an old arms shop that used to be used by the Uchiha Clan.

Two talking cats appear who Sasuke gives catnip to. The two cats begin to guide them. (WTF?)

They take them to the weapons supply. The weapons supply person turns out to be a cute girl.

There's another scene change to Akatsuki.

Deidara is particularly is interested in what Konoha is up to (Particularly Naruto and Kakashi) and takes Tobi along with him. Itachi and Kisame watch this intently.

Finally, back to Konoha. An 8-man team is gathered.
It consists of Naruto, Sakura, Sai, Kakashi, and...hmmm...who are these people? Shy white-eyed girl...dog-boy...and the guy with the black glasses...sorry, I've forgotten them. (Lol, It actually says this.)

Lastly, the Jounin who helped with Naruto's training completes the 8-man squad (Obviously Yamato).
More setup, but sounds like a nice chapter.

One note though: I know what kind of audience this manga is intended for, and I realize that Team 8 kind of specializes in tracking, so they should be quite helpful in this type of mission, but... Considering that they're pursuing Akatsuki, wouldn't it make a bit more sense to have a couple of other teams comprised of at least Tokubetsu Jounin tag along? They have powerhouses in Kakashi, Naruto, and Sai, who are assumed to be at least solid Jounin level, but the rest of the two teams, while having their specialties, are still Chuunin.

Well, whatever.

As alluded to earlier, Team 8 is built for tracking and would be a great asset for team 7; coupled w/ Kakashi's hunter dogs, i'd be suprised if they don't find them first. Ofcourse, Team Sasuke will be there shortly after. It's going to be really sick!

Also, i'm sure there are a ton of strong characters more powerful than Akatsuki.

I'm not interested in seeing people randomly die. If a character dies, I would like it to be interesting and unexpected. For example, if Shino or Kiba died, it would hardly be surprising, but if a character like Sakura, Neji, Shikamaru or Lee died, I could respect that. However, we all know that will not happen.

Death would really only advance the storyline if the character that dies already has significant development beforehand. The storyline up to this point would have been far more interesting had everyone aside from Naruto and Lee died in the save Sasuke arc, as it would've truly raised issues about Sasuke since people died attempting to save him, and he spat in the face of that sacrifice.

However, it was shown with that story arc that the Manga is almost certainly never going to permanently kill or eliminate any major, developed characters. So, no reason to kill anyone else, either, as far as I'm concerned, since what's the point? So long as the fight scene is as interesting and strategic as Naruto fights have the potential to be, I will be satisfied.

All I can say is Finally. I swore to myself during the last arc that if the one coming up didn’t have any of team 8 (which housed my favorite character, Shino) I was going to drop the Naruto series all together. These could very well be some of the greatest fights in Naruto history that we could end up discussing 5-10 years from now. Shino was a bad mofo before the time skip. Can't wait to see how dope he is now. And my girl Hinata. Well she is a Chunin now so she's had to improve a great deal. We all know her bod has jumped up to Super Ultra Hyper Jonin status. Let's see her ninja skills. Maybe I'm biased, but I also think Hinata could own Sakura in a fight. Yeah, Sakura was trained by Tsunade, but Hinata could throw out the fact that she has an actual rack. So, what are the best/important episodes to get so far of Shippuden? Once again, I've lagged behind on this, and never saw past those first 2 episodes. I'm getting #3 right now, but as usual, the torrenting thing is so goddamn slow it's ridiculous(and this is WITH "open" ports, btw. I'm talking 8 kb /second slow folks.) I'd rather get packs of episodes like with the old series, but I haven't seen anything like that yet for the new series...just single episodes. I'll just try to stay up to date from now on, because it has been a pain already trying to get caught up on things.

*and now the shit just stopped. I want to find the person that invented torrents and skin them alive, and punch his daughter in the face.

you usually want to catch the episodes on that first week or so to get a good dl speed. as far as the eps to get, the last 3 or 4 have all been worthy of seeing, so I suggest them at the least. except for having lost ep 70-100, I have all of them. some good, some bad, some ugly. for right now, ep 12-14 is where it starts heating up so don't miss those.

I think the al is the fourth. IMO Itachi will betray the akatsuki but will get killed by Kisame. Kisame seems to be only second to Naruto in raw power.

My girl is finally getting some pannel time and she isn't about to go out to those Akatsuki fags. :annoy: However, I'm pretty sure that won't happen. She's on the team so we can see just how good she's gotten since the time skip. That and I'm sure there will be some Naruto-Hinata moments.

Sakura really, really didn't care about Naruto until she found out about Kyuubi being sealed inside him, his being an outcast as a result, and his being a target of Akatsuki. Hinata has liked (loved?) Naruto for a long time without knowing any of that stuff. She likes Naruto for who he is. No one really wants to be liked/loved out of pity, which seems to be where Sakura's feelings come from.

Oh and the Naruto avs I've been seeing are pimp. I asked PyschoSquall for one myself.

Points well taken. Sakura cared for Naruto before the time skip. His life time promise to bring back Sasuke made her realize that he really does care about her. But it doesn't seem like Sakura's feelings for Naruto didn't come about until she found out about his awful past. Yamato was going to enlighten Sakura about her concern for Naruto but was interupted when Naruto awoke from his 4 tailed Kyuubi rampage. Of course I think we all know what he was going to say. It hasn't been touched on since, but it still seems like Sakura's feelings stim from pity, at least to me, anyway.

I also believe Hinata is very much in love with Naruto but he has no clue she's all ga-ga for him, he doesn't know her heart skips a couple of beats whenever she's near him. Still, unlike Saskue, I think Naruto would actually give Hinata the time of day. Yes, the crush is one-sided but much like the Naruto fans in this thread want The Fourth to the the AL leader, I sooo want Hinata to end up with Naruto. Pairing these two in the manga would put an end to one of the most annoying laws in Shonen manga.

And Kurinai should have given Hinata some advice about being a woman: use the goods that you were given. Like I said before, Hinata needs to push Naruto on the ground and just take him.

That's what I was thinking, too. The way Naruto is oblivious to to Hinata's feelings was so similar to how Goku was unaware of Chichi's feelings for the longest time. And considering how often Kishimoto takes cues from Dragon Ball, I wouldn't be throughly surprised at a NarutoxHinata pairing.

I don't know much about the nerdy part, she just doesn't seem to have the desire to fight. except for gaining strength from her crush on Naruto, she'd probably have faded out on the first mission. she's more mystery than anything, kinda like the rest of team 8. what do we REALLY know about any of them, except that they all wear jackets? I personally don't have beef with the Sasuke character, they just need to do more with him. the whole one-track minded,"i have to kill my brother" thing gets old if they don't add more to the mix. having turned him from a solo fighter to an entire squad was a good step IMO. especially with a team of psychopaths of enormous power and skill Now you have more on the plate than just Sasuke, whom we ALL know is only in it to kill Itachi. As for me, I dislike Hinata simply because she's that same old anime stereotype #4,862: "shy girl who may or may not be a childhood friend of the main character with secret feelings that she is unable to express". I actually prefer, though it's still lame that is must be so, Sakura's stereotyped "loudmouthed girl with a heart of gold underneath" to Hinata's, in this manga anyway.

I admit that Hinata (hell, a LOT of the cast of Naruto) hasn't had much character development, but that is part of the good thing too. Nobody knows what to expect. Personally, I hope the next few issues will help solve that problem as we have all seen more than enough of the naruto and Sakura show. give the damn spotlight to some other characters already!!!
