So, I take back what I said earlier about Deidara. He wasn't punished for it, but he was stupid. After nearly blowing himself apart against Itachi in the flashback, you would think he'd know to avoid the Sharingan's Genjutsu. But this cat deliberately centered in on Sasuke's Sharingan twice in this fight.

It would be funny if Sasuke catches him with a Sharingan Genjutsu next week, and makes him use his C4 on himself.

Tsukuyomi is the only Genjutsu we've seen thus far that can really hurt(kill) folks. Everything else is used to confuse, immobilize, or manipulate the actions of the opponent. Sasuke has shown us examples of the first two. Itachi gave us an example of the third on that woman to distract Jiraiya.

well, just read ch359. yep, I think we're soon to be one akatsuki less. no jacket, frankenstien arms, and the infamous,"this is bad!" Phrase from tobi. That's three strikes already, but can Deidara dodge the bullet? Part of me says yes because if he created this jutsu, obviously he survived THAT time. the other 96% of me says he's gonna get ate up like his partner did. it's just meant to happen. how many of the legion of doom will be left if he goes? the boss, tobi, kisame, zetsu, and who else? He can counter all of Itachi's Genjutsu with the Sharingan(possibly Tsukuyomi as well, as it's been implied that a normal Sharingan can dispell it), and I doubt he's lacking in jutsu speed either. Once they move past the inevitable staring contest, I'm expecting to see a nice exchange of Ninjutsu and Taijutsu.

Once stuff like Amaterasu comes out though...

Recently, the Shippuden episodes has been very interesting to me. I didn't mind the Matsuri girl from the filler in Shippuden at all since it was relavant and I'm glad that the comical side of the anime is creeping back in a little (i.e. episode 18). The manga's getting very interesting (I can't wait until this week's chapter)... something bad is going to happen to either Deidara or Sasuke...

Sasuke makes it seem like he's getting blown up through genjutsu, then he kills the giant deidara, stabs the "real" deidara who is actually a bushin, and is caught. Then a giant bomb goes off and Water Shark Teeth Face has to save him. Deidara allegedly is far away when that happens as he has exhausted all of his chakra.

If this is the real spoiler, that is fucking great. Adding to the greatness, Dei PUTS HIS COAT BACK ON. He is officially the coolest character in Naruto if this is real.

well i was hoping that sasuke wouldn't be able to handle two (cuz lets face it, tobi hasn't played much of a part in this fight. he's been on the sidelines) akatsuki members at one time...he has a team for a reason. if kakashi, naruto, etc. couldn't handle one akatsuki member (one on one) then i don't think sasuke should be able to either.

EDIT: Regarding Naruto vs. Deidara, he'd have different strengths and weaknesses against Dei. For example, he wouldn't have been able to see the C4 coming and would get disintegrated if in the same situation Sasuke was in (who was saved thanks to Sharingan). However, Naruto probably would have had a clone up there in the first place, meaning a poof and more combat experience to find a way around it.

Or alternatively he could've figured out Dei's basic attack plan at the onset of the fight (before he had a chance to unleash the dragon OR the C4) and went for the FRS which would've ended the fight right then.

That's something I've been wondering about. After Tsunade goes back to Konoha, I hear there are some filler eps. I also know there's a lot of filler after Naruto fails to bring back Sasuke. I don't mind filler as long as its good filler. However, from what I've heard, a lot of Naruto filler is just plain bad. I don't know if I can put up with 80+ eps of Naruto filler!! Though I am looking forward to the Naruto/Hinata moments.

Good chapter. Nice to see Ded trained one of his eyes to counter the Sharingan. As broken as that thing is, I've always had a feeling there had to be some way around it. Of course we all know Saskue isn't gonna get offed by Ded. Saskue will probably give that "My eyes own all speech" and then peace out Ded. Or something like that.

Also, when you compare Sasuke to Naruto, Kishi tends to draw Sasuke with more masculine features compared to Naruto's boyish looks. Sasuke has a firm jaw line, that hints that he's at least in his late teens. When you look at Naruto, he still has a lot of baby fat in his face. Poor Naruto.

Tell me about it... I just got through reading the chapter. How can a normal eye just see through the Sharingan's Genjutsu by simply training it? To make it worst, Deidara squared off against Itachi once and retained all that information on the Sharingan's Genjutsu properties (that's nonsense). Despite this surprise, I'm sure that Sasuke can still deal with Deidara.

Its not really that stupid, there has been a counter to everything else just about. And just like people train to counter other things i don't see why its such a big deal that the shiringan can be countered. At 1st i thought it was random but that only because unlike everything else in naruto there seemed to be no countering the shiringan up until this point.

Nope, they've never shown her at her actual age (except for a really brief mouth-to-nose view when she was nearly depleted of chakra, IIRC). Basically, she has to be REALLY close to death and out of chakra in order for the anti-aging thing to deactivate.

Neither the Sharingan or Byakugan can tell the difference between physical Bunshin(Kage Bunshin, Mizu Bunshin, Moku Bunshin, Clay Bunshin, etc) and the real thing, unless there is a difference in chakra amount, or activity.

And I'm not sure if I mentioned it earlier in this thread, but I believe all the physical Bunshin above produce the exact same results. The only conflicting evidence is what Haku said about Zabuza's Mizu Bunshin in the Water Country arc(the Bunshin having 1/8 the strength of the original), but it's possible that this was only due to the amount of chakra Zabuza used for the technique, and not a general thing(don't believe it was mentioned in the technique's Databook entry). And I believe Mizu Bunshin has a lower difficulty rating than Kage Bunshin due to the fact that it uses water as a medium, while Kage Bunshin are made from pure chakra; the cost of chakra is likely higher.

Concerning Deidara's anti-Sharingan plan: I took it as a development on the C-Rank "Kai", made especially to counter the Sharingan's Genjutsu, which is apparently not at all easy to dispell. Genjutsu is carried out by manipulating the opponent's flow of chakra through attacking one or more of their senses. As all Sharingan Genjutsu is carried out through eye contact, I'm assuming this was made to be particularly effective against the Sharingan's Genjutsu.

Remember Anko? people who jumped on after the itachi arc may not even know she exists. while there isn't much that she does in the series, she's got a history that I'm sure we would all like to know more about. Deidara has either exposed Sasuke to his C4, or detonates the clay around Sasuke, and defeated him. This turns out to be another Genjutsu, and the tables are turned yet again.

That's all we got right now. Not too thrilled with the chapter based on these spoilers. Not because of any Sharingan-related complaints... It just sounds redundant... Panel with Sasuke bustin' out the fierce is nice though. Somebody should make an avy of that. :smile:

Isn't the basis of Sharingan-based copying that the user can see how the jutsu works, therefore, he can figure out how to do it on his own.

Yeah, but there's that thing where Naruto says the equivalent of "Wind makes fire dance." I forget the exact line, but it looks like Kishi already had something planned way back then, and we're just waiting to see how it unfolds. I'm getting the feeling that Naruto & Sasuke are going to pull some insane wind+fire jutsu to beat someone- most likely Itachi, since it doesn't make sense for Sasuke to care if Naruto helps him take down anyone else.

From the comment apparently from Himajin, most of the chapter is devoted to Sasuke explaining his victory to Deidara. In other words, it might be interesting but it's certainly not exciting or dramatic.

Anyway, my interpretation so far:

Sasuke breaks free from Deidara with the chidori.
Sasuke appears to break up C4 style (maybe only his snake wing?)
Deidara is convinced he won.
It turns out Sasuke breaking up was a genjutsu and Deidara is punched in the face.
Sasuke explains to Deidara something. I don't really understand, but I think he neutralized the C4 bombs by internally using chidori current.
He apparently continues explaining how he got out to just about the end of the chapter.

Yes. See how the chakra is kneaded, how the seals are formed, all that is necessary to create a Mizu Bunshin. If Kisame sent a Mizu Bunshin from Kakashi's blindside during his Hidden Mist technique, and he and the Bunshin attacked at the same time, Kakashi wouldn't be able to tell which one is the real deal unless there were of the abnormalities I mentioned before.

Sharingan can see, and copy the process of using the technique. But, assuming my theory is accurate, it cannot "see through" it in the same manner as a regular Bunshin, or Genjutsu.

That's what i kinda meant. Kakashi knew the first zabuza he attacked was a clone. It wasn't a 1oo% clone of the original that's how I think he knew. That was my point in reguard's to tobi "seeing" sasuke's bunshin. If the spoiler is correct and tobi (lol has sharingan) does in fact see through sasuke's bunshin it isn't that big a deal. It could just mean sasuke doesn't have that jutsu perfected. Or It could be certain types of bunshin have flaws.(?)

My post is mainly targeted to those who continously watch the anime even though it only gets worse and worse. Basically, those who force themselves to watch it no matter how bad it gets, all the while continously bitching about it.

I followed the Naruto anime up until the Sasuke retrieval arc and then I stopped cold turkey JUST as the fillers started. I sincerely hope people who don't like fillers would NOT WATCH THE FILLERS, but not everyone does that.

I watched the first eps of Shippuuden, they were good, but once again, it occured to me that I was basically watching the manga in animation with music and voices. That's what it is, pretty much.

In any case, I've watched the anime and it WAS good while I watched it. But, if you feel they're butchering it, then hey, no harm done if you decide not to watch it, right?

I can understand why people want to watch the anime, perhaps because they're just big fans and want to collect it, or they like seeing it animated as opposed to drawings on a page (I myself watch specific parts that were good in the manga like I said), or what else. But if you don't like how it's going, then save yourself the hard drive space/DVD to burn on, and don't bother.

edit: Ok, as for Naruto stuff. I hope that Tobi steps in (finally) to save Deidara from his near demise.

I thought the fight was okay, yes, kind of uncreative, but alright. I do find it funny that Dei and Sasuke were just sitting there talking how they went about the fight. Sure it's informative to the reader, but its kind of silly.

I agree... It seems that Naruto had just recently learned what his nature affinity was while a few others knew theirs years ago (some still might not know theirs now). Kishi could've stated that earlier as it would've made more sense to me on why Sasuke's Chidori just pierced straight through Gaara's sand defense at the Chuunin Exam (Lightning > Earth).

Watched it as well. I didn't care much for Kabuto before, but man he was awesome in this episode (blood censoring aside). Stomping little kids, and medical jutsu slapping women in the chest, big and flat alike.

And to think, he's even better now now in the manga.

At this point, Naruto is NO WHERE near the level of Sasuke- Kyubified or not. Sasuke can beast on Deidara w/out the Mangekyou sharingan- just imagine if he did! Lights out from the get-go.

Sasuke's Sharingan was VERY weak up until the very end of Part 1.

Plus there was a long-ass period when he really couldn't use the Sharingan much at all due to the curse seal.

Sasuke hate is so lame. Especially when it goes against the actual facts of what happened in the story.

you know it just hit me on who Zaku and Dosu were...I was tryin to think of who you was talkin about for a while, then it hit me. Those weak ass low-level pawns Oro sent out during the Chuunin exams!? :rofl: you gotta be kidding if you count that as a accomplishment. Didnt Shino rape that guy too? Like I said b4 Sasuke won only One fight and thats Naruto no one else. Sasuke is like..what 1-4

Shino was clearly in the top 5 of young Konoha nin at that point in the series (Neji, Lee, Sasuke, Shino/Shika), so losing to him isn't that bad.

Plus you have to account for everyone's level at that point.

At that point in the story, Dosu and Zaku were fucking shit up. Completely killing that shit off at that point in the story was a hug deal.

You want to look at just numbers.... Naruto has fought more than Sasuke so you can't really do that, and again... Sasuke fought 4 on 1 and got beat. He fought Itachi... and got beat... OK.

He then beat Naruto, and since has been beasting.

So if the four tailed state does this much damage to his body....what are the chances of him being able to tap into more of the nine-tails chakra?

Does anyone think that naruto will end up losing the nine tails to akatsuki later in the series? (It kinda is the only way to advance the plot right?)

Yes, and maybe for once we can have Sasuke chase Naruto around. But can you imagine the hardon Naruto will get if he were saved by Sasuke? :rolleyes:
