Or a testament to Orochi's skills. Unless he made each discovery very overt (which I doubt) how would they know? If he can get to one it stands to reason he can get to the rest.

- Jiraiya has this big-ass, fucked up scar across his chest that came from 4-tailed Kyuubi Naruto. He tells Kakashi (all of this is in a flashback) that Naruto goes totally batshit insane when he hits 4 tails or higher in his transformation, and that the Kyuubi chakra, whle protecting him from enemy attacks in battle, is actually damaging Naruto's body heavily. When he went 4-tail against Jiraiya, his body was covered in blood and he had serious injuries, but he still went on a rampage like nothing was wrong. Furthermore, after Jiraiya contained him, his body healed completely by the Kyuubi chakra, which is a good and a bad thing: Rapid healing from even the worst injury, but at the cost of your biological lifespan, since your cells are consistently and rapidly being damaged, then regenerating themselves. Thus, everytime Naruto goes crazy with the Kyuubi chakra (to the point where he's got the fox aura around his body) he's effectively shortening his lifespan.

Itachi is alot smarter in the way he fights though. You can't debate who would win in Manga fights, mainly because the stories are written from only ONE perspective, and contain loads of favoritism takes place from the author to push the story forward in places.

American comics have so many different takes on characters that a debate can actually take place. Not that they are any "better" then arguing about manga fights, at least you have more material to go by.

Just read 291...my thoughts.

Naruto might actually (breaking all forms of shounen manga convention) be stronger than Sasuke right now, especially with the 4-tailed or higher Kyuubi. Seriously, he rocketed Oro halfway across the forest...WITH ONE HIT. IN 1-TAILED FORM. And right after doing that, he sprouts three more tails, giving Orochimaru...motherfucking OROCHIMARU, one of the baddest guys in the manga, who just shook off said haymaker of a punch, an "oh shit I guess I'm fucked" expression.

Of course, we have the catch: Kyuubi's messing Naruto's body up. And after four tails, he loses all ability to distinguish friend and foe, meaning Sakura-chan and Sai would be seriously fucked if Naruto turned on them. And as such, we all know Yamato's gonna pull a miniature sealing of the Kyuubi via the necklace Tsunade gave Naruto, shutting off the chakra before Naruto can really rip into anybody.

Which gives Sasuke the perfect opportunity to come in and look badass like we know he will when he first re-appears, fulfilling his token anime stereotype contract as "the cool rival guy". In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if Naruto was in no shape to fight due to the effects of Kyuubi's chakra, then Sasuke comes out talking trash. Perhaps Sai tries to fight him, only to get rocked almost instantaneously. Then he says some more shit that foreshadows Naruto vs. Sasuke Round 2, and leaves.

No doubt, he will be powerful as all hell. And probably quite a bit more skilled than Naruto is. But after seeing what a 1-tailed Kyuubi Naruto did to Oro, they'd have to totally go the DBZ/Bleach route where Sasuke would own Oro, Jiraiya and Tsunade at the same time blindfolded to make him stronger than a 4 or 5-tailed Kyuubi Naruto.

About Sakura, she actually handled seeing the destructive power of Kyuubi Naruto a lot better than I thought she would. Of course we knew she would be all shocked, then worried about Naruto, kind of implying that she has feelings for him (because of course, she's the stereotyped "loudmouthed girl with a good heart" who always ends up like the Naruto-esque guy...). But it was a lot more dignified than when Sasuke first saw Kyuubi...which well, deballed him quite a bit. :rofl:

that sasori vs. Sakura and chiyo fight leaves a bitter taste in my mouth everytime I think about it. it's the bitter taste of plot-no-jutsu. I could've even lived with a stalemate and sasaori escaping, but no. they just HAD to kill him. just so Sakura could get some street cred as something other than a pink-haired punching bag. :rolleyes: well, as was said before, Naruto has more holes in the plot than swiss cheese. It ain't like someone's forcing me to download it and there is more out there. still, I agree. they NEED to get back to the days like Haku/Zabuzza. That is the cowbell that you want on the song.

So one thing I've been wondering, for a good while now...

Orochimaru puts these curse seals on people, revealing more powerful forms of themselves. Orochimaru seeks power.

Does Orochimaru have a curse seal as well? You figure it would only make sense considering how incredibly powerful it makes other people that Oro would have one of his own. I mean, he created the technique, didn't he? I think it said he did at one point in time.

Just saying: If Oro is getting owned that badly, who's to say he won't pull out a cursed seal form? Hope I'm not going out on a limb too far here, but I've never even seen discussion about the possibility of Orochimaru having a curse seal.

Regardless, the plot is kinda growing thin. The whole "Chasing Sasuke" thing was extremely lame, even though we got some awesome fights with some not so commonly used characters out of it (Kiba and Chouji? Yes plz). I mean, even Shikamaru had his time in the sun with the whoule Chuunin exam, and Neji has had a decent amount of exposure.

I really hope the story picks up and becomes awesome again, and uses the older characters as well. I really want to see more of how the rest of the people have progressed, especially Hinata, Shinomori, Kiba, Chouji, Ino, and everyone else who showed up to say "HAY GUYZ I GOT NEW CLOTHES".

Another thing I've found interesting is that none of them have really moved towards the 'normal' ninja outfits you see the older nins wearing (Iruka, Kakashii, etc). They've all gone to their own style, versus the default ninja outfit that has been thrown out there for all the older folks in the manga. Well, Rock kinda went with that style, but he's just copying Gai.

I was thinking that myself. I know oro took a punch, but let's not forget, he OWNED naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura during that fight in the forrest and he barely broke a sweat. Something tells me that even though Naruto is stronger, Orochimaru probably wasn't sitting around playing PS2 during the time skip. He's a snake, so expect him to beast and soon.

In terms of raw power, sure. But this was a given. I think whatever Sasuke lacks in that respect, he'll make up for in straight up skill. Variety in Nin, Gen, Taijutsu, Fuuinjutsu, Seal speed, tactics, etc.

I'm hoping with his introduction, and this new information about Naruto's transformations, they'll both steer away from their cheap powerups.

Does Orochimaru have a curse seal as well? You figure it would only make sense considering how incredibly powerful it makes other people that Oro would have one of his own. I mean, he created the technique, didn't he? I think it said he did at one point in time.
The Curse Seal is more of a way to keep his subordinates in check than anything, IMO. The Curse Seal has too many drawbacks for it to be considered "true power". Orochimaru is powerful and experienced enough that he doesn't have to fall back on anything like it.

... There's also the fact that he would risk death trying to put the Curse Seal on his body, and the fact that two of his most promising vessels have Curse Seals on them alreadey.

The story is just getting stupid. The introduction of the fact the number of tails naruto has relates to his level of power is too much like dragonball. I know he was influened by dragonball z but who gives a fuck? Agreed Naruto was better when there was some Strategy to the fights. The Zabusa/Haku Story arc where Naruto used the Fuuma shuriken trap and then the Mind games Kakashi played were gold. The entire Chunin exams were just another level of awesome mind games and fighting. That all ended after the Gaara fight. Sure everyone else has they moments here and there but it is mostly Naruto Rasengening that shit down left and right.

It’s getting old. And now we have SSJ Naruto. I don’t know if the DBZ parody is worse or the bad flash back to Mortal Kombat Annihilation “this is my anamality” moments we are having here.

I don't think we'll be seeing too much of Naruto's tailed transformation after this. Kishi's described to us in detail the dangers these tailed transformations put Naruto's life in, and the lives of people around him. As he shits out more tails, the danger will only increase, the seal will continue to weaken.

Timing's just about right, Naruto needs to grow so much more as a Ninja. The Jinchuuriki power-ups are getting stale, and I think Kishi knows it.

i would say the whole of dbz was upto the frieza saga, it werent just explosions of anger till after that, the rest of it was good but only because of the memorable characters and conflicts you wont see anywhere else, to this day no other character has been as classic as that cast, its downfall that would of made it the perfect anime is in depth strategy and more crisp and clear fight scenes eventhough the fight scenes were ok, it really werent that good not that anything else has better impact but it could of been god-tier with effort, the conflicts made it

naruto's strength is its in depth strategy i love this anime for that and thats one strength it has over all current anime and even some of the past, story telling like this cant be hated just for one attribute, all the attributes are pretty top-tier, but the fighting is nicer but not as exciting as dbz's which is lowering the conflict attribute, it needs to be more rough and aggressive, dbz made the pain be felt, if naruto grows up and adopts dbz's viciousness, when it finishes ill never have to watch any other anime again :tup:

if the writer is copying DBZ then good! :tup: he seems to be going more in depth with his stuff and is leaking in the whole CONFLICT attribute to the mix, conflicts are in all great stories

harry potter has people saying about power this and power that why isnt anyone complaining saying "any time now im expecting harry's hair to go yellow"

this is why it seems familiar-

DBZ is based on chinese and japanese myths all integrated into a futuristic setting with the concept of channeling Ki being the biggest thing just like you would see alot of martial arts movies showing this in their story, DBZ fights take place majorly in the wild in an open field just like martial arts films (thats right akira wasnt just too lazy to draw backgrounds)

NARUTO goes deeper into the whole martial arts, ninja's are known to want to learn all martial arts to be the best at what they do, naruto goes into detail about each move (yes instead of jitsu) if it didnt have a mythical setting then it would be less entertaining, they do have alot of facts in their that arent mythical though, and alot that are just plain common sense


man i would not watch this if they didnt explain the things they do they way they do, i think most anime's are just beating around the bush to make it SOUND diffrent to DBZ, it did honestly fall into the predictable states but thats only because it smacked right through imagination and went to the crunch

naruto seems like what it would of been like if dragon ball was more in depth and everything went slower to let everyone grasp whats happening, i dont see anything worng with that

it just seems like naruto grew 4 and a half tails for no real reason other just to show the reader that he's really powerful now. even as the most emotional character, it just seemed kina weird that oro would mention sasuke and then naruto loses control to this point. i could see if he got hit a few times, after not being able to land a decent amount of hits on oro/kabuto and he got taunted, and THEN turned into the kyuubi, but...

yeah, the seal is pretty weak now, it'd just be hotter if there was more of a reason than that for him turning into 4 tails kyuubi. ah well, i'm sure it will be more explained later. or maybe i'm missing something?

Because Orochimaru appeared and mentioned Sasuke. Each of those things set Naruto off in the past. Just that when he goes apeshit now he's realeasing more and more Kyubi energy. That was stated since he started training with Jinraya before the final chuunin exams.

Now the fact that he's been sitting and stewing about this Oro/Sasuke shit for years is a good enough excuse. Look at the way he acts in the filler eps.

Gaara wasn't a maniac, he was really sensible. It was the influence from the demon that made him unstable. And it wasn't a full transformation he just gave up control, but then again his seal was totally different so it's natural it would manifest differently. Naruto's is tied to strong emotions especially anger/pain/desperation (anything negative I suppose) while Gaara's was tied to him sleeping.

That's why waking Gaara up was what beat him, Naruto on the other hand is the opposite.

i totally understand the gaara situation, and have sense i saw it/read it, etc. but it seems like A LOT more was put into him transforming like that, and a lot less was put into naruto going from one tail kyuubi, only in certain instances (which were explained well), to going 4 tail kyuubi for something so trivial. =/


and it seemed like naruto's kyuubi transformation was more tied to him not being able to do anything else atm (all chakra drained, his life threatened, he didn't want to give up, etc.), while gaara was unstable because of his jinchuuriki and anything could set him off (especially him seeing his own blood/getting hit, etc.) it is already understood that he feints sleep to go into "shukaku mode" and thats what i'm getting at. there was more thought put into that. naruto just went 4 tail kyuubi off of oro saying sasuke's name alone. wtf is that? it seems like there is no story at all right now, just a bunch of drawn action scenes and for what? i thought this was supposed to be:

1. yamato gets caught in his own act
2. he's about to get jumped

What the fuck are you talking about? Kabuto is hurt because of Naruto so he was healing himself, Sai has his own secret plot so he's chilling on the side, Yamato was busy rescuing sakura, and sakura was hurt.. None of them were chilling.

People were first complaining about how slow the series was going, now they're complaining because it actually is moving forward. I'm not surprised this happend, this was going to happen anyways.. Who DIDN'T know he was eventually going to use more kyuubi powers? That's like his bloodine limit pretty much.. (remember that?) Everyone is still jumping the gun saying Naruto is turning into DBZ. Right now in the manga it does have ONE similarity and that's Naruto powering up (for 3 straight freakin chapters...wtf lolz). Naruto is the ONLY character so far where he does the level up transformations. Sharingan users are different, but that's something else.

In DBZ, mostly every character had the dragged out leveling up sequences which it's infamous for. There is probably a handful of those kind of moments in Naruto from the beginning up to now and there is a very FEW characters that do it. Naruto, Rock Lee, and Gai. That's it, unless I'm forgetting some important people.

So there's 3 characters who are DBZ'd, where 2 are far from focus right now. So unless Sakura, Yamato, Kabuto, Oro, and Sai have to powaaa up to get into the fight, THEN i'll jump in the Naruto=DBZ bandwagon.
