Quit hijackin' the damn thread! :rofl:

I'm really interested in what they do with this next chapter. Cause if that blast is anything reminiscent to a DBZ laser, or another Rasengan...I'm done with Naruto. Not the manga, him as a character. At this point, I just want to see him pull out something slick, without the Kyuubi, Rasengan or Kage Bunshin. Hell, he hasn't even done a Kyuubi Chakra powered Kage Bunshin, which is about the only application we haven't seen a gazillion times. Imagine Oro's face if he saw 1000 of those little pointy-eared bastards...:rofl:

I dont really think theres any point to thinking he's going to do a clever technique, especially as how he's obviously being controlled by the Kyuubi right now. Its definitely going to be some type of raw power thing, Im bettin the same shit that gave Jiraiya that scar. But since orochimaru really does seem to be indestructable like he said himself before, who knows what it'll do.(probably get injured and then call naruto weaker than sasuke before him and kabuto bounce. That'd make it like what, the 3rd time Oro has left a battle scene roughed up?)

Ummmm, NOx100. If you rate Naruto higher than HxH, then i'm going to have to question your tastes in animer. HxH (to me) is a much more fluid, dark, and deeper anime than Naruto will ever be. The series has DEPTH. Someone earlier said that every fight in HxH is like a Shikamaru fight but better? So true. There are no powerups and silly things of that sort and you can clearly see the author thinks ahead to the future when he writes-- Versus Kishimoto who is turning Naruto into Power Up trash.

If Naruto's battles bug you, then you'll rip your hair out at Yu Yu Hakusho. They almost always go the same way: start off fresh and cool with strategy and unique moves, but quickly degenerate into straight-up power battles with a dramatic one-punch/Spirit Gun/etc. final attack a la Naruto vs. Gaara at the end. ESPECIALLY if Yusuke's fighting, he always draws power at the last second from thinking about his lame-ass token girlfriend and steals the fucking match. Fuck him, and fuck her. :rolleyes:

Now if the series was about Hiei and Kurama, then it would've been sick.

Ah, Hiei and Kurama are great characters.

Kuwabara had his moments too, got left behind after the tournament though. The whole series hit a low point that it wasn't able to get back up from sometime around the end of the tournament.

Naruto's jutsu was basically Shuukaku's Renkuudan, but with raw chakra. Orochimaru's a beast, almost totally defended against 4-Tail Kyuubi Naruto's best shot with a much more powerful variant of the Kuchiyose that Sakon and Ukon used against Kiba, and immediately put him down with the Kusunagi no Tsurigi.

He put him down with two cards we've already seen played, and with a smile. I wonder if anybody at NF still thinks that 4TKN is on the Sannin's level, or that Sasuke competing with Naruto's raw power(up to this point, anyways) is an impossibility.

God DAMN. Oro is a bad mofo, for real. But I don't think it's as bad as Sai's making it out to be: Note that for one, Kyuubi Naruto doesn't even seem hurt by the stab. For two, Naruto's got his hands around the Kusanagi Sword in the last frame, and in shounen terms, that's a clear foreshadowing of what's coming.

I'm guessing Naruto breaks the sword in the next chapter. This fight ain't over yet.

Also, I still don't think Sasuke could fight with (at least, fight with and win) Kyuubi Naruto in that 4-tailed state. But the thing is, I don't think Naruto will go so far as to use that form on him, so he'll still be strong enough to fulfill his "rival clause" in the shounen manga contract.

In fact, I don't think Naruto will be using the 4-tailed form any time soon after this. He's probably gonna be all fucked up from finding out about the damage he caused and make some sort of vow to keep his emotions in check.

That was the fanboy in me speakin', Alpha. I want Naruto to lose this battle--or at least, Orochimaru showing a clear dominance before Naruto is eventually quelled by Yamato.

But even still:
What makes you think that 4TKN isn't injured?
How can you tell that he's holding on to the Kusunagi no Tsurigi from these low quality scans? I only see the resemblence of a large mosquito plastered on a rock. :razzy:

I agree, on both points. If Naruto and Sasuke ever fight again, it won't be taken to the extreme that we saw at the VotE. And I've been preachin' this at NF for a while now. People are too hype on Naruto's power-ups, this is the last we'll see of his tailed transformations for a good long while, so y'all better enjoy 'em while you can.

and he's telling me that even though naruto is 4tails/ssj4 that he ain't afraid of shit. I now have a better understanding of Sanin Level.

What do we see this outcome being? Is oro just gonna put him down or will other konohas show up. This situation seems way over Yamato's head.

Kakashi is one of the strongest of Konoha's Jounin, he's at an exceptionally high tier, but not quite high enough to easily compete with Shinobi of the Sannin's caliber(and in turn, Itachi).

I think he'll be that strong when he re-appears for a couple of reasons:
I believe that there won't be too many more developments for Sasuke in Part 2, save for Mangekyou Sharingan, and the bond he shares with his friends/will of fire mess. Because while Part 1 centered around Naruto and Sasuke's growth, I'm expecting Part 2 to center mostly around Naruto's only, as he starts developing his skills enough to become the strongest of Hokage.
Putting Sasuke's skill level that high will give Naruto that much more incentive to grow. This, coupled with the dangers associated with Naruto's tailed transformations will provide good reason for him jumping from the estimated level of a High Chuunin, or Special Jounin/Low Jounin that we see him as now, to a level strong enough to take the position of Hokage.
A lesser point, but if you take a look at Kimimaro's stat graph, he was around that level. Taking Sasuke's Sharingan and talent into consideration, along with the fact that he has amongst the highest of potential of all the characters in this series, that he has a Curse Seal with equal power to Kimimaro's, and that he is now the same age Kimimaro was in Part 1, I don't think it's far-fetched at all to conclude that he will be at least that strong when he's re-introduced.

i wonder if naruto will participate in any chuunin/jounin tournaments in the manga. just something about him still being a genin in title irks me. really and truly, he should have been chuunin status in part 1 and he definitely should be jounin status now. he's taking on a sannin. a fucking sannin (and the sannin isn't really holding back per se), and he's not dead. that alone should give him jounin status.

Of course I did, what I meant is when he comes back at this point, since using Sharingan cost hefty energy and from what I remember, it will shorten your life or some sort

Not really... The only reason why you might believe this is because he hasn't been a part of the story for almost a year now so you hold onto these ideals of Sasuke as he was in part one. It simply isn't fair to say he's more developed because in all actuallity, he doesn't exist in the Naruto world right now... Until ofcourse he makes his grand entrance.

Shunned by his village
Admires the hokages
Want to be recognized by his village as a great ninja
Gained that Acknowledgment form someone (Iruka)
Started to make some friends (Sasuke, Lee, Shikamaru)
Fights to complete his mission and helps those he cares about.
Abandoned by someone he considered his closest friend (Sasuke)
Gains yet another father figure (Jiraiya)

Compare this with Sasuke

Family killed by big brother
burden of Family name on him
Burden of trying to out do big brother
wants to kill big brother
Feels overshadowed by a "drop out"
Goes to evil guy to gain more power.

I'm not saying Sasuke is not a interesting character it's just that he is sort of one dimensional in the sense of Angst, Angst, Angst, Want to kill my brother, CRAAALLLWING IN MY SKIIIIIIIN!!

However I will concede that Neji has a great back story and to a lesser extent Lee does as well. Kakashi's is probably the best one of them all though.

I find sauske's backstory to be more interesting and developed than Naruto's. However, I feel Neji has the best backstory out of all of the characters including Naruto. It's only a matter of time before everyone realizes the greatness that is Sauske.

QTF..... The whole neji, hinata, naurto thing was great. Naruto's story was so rushed, outta all the nin's i feel least bad for him. Everyone else seemed like they had just as a hard time if not harder than Naurto. well besides shiki, aka, and maybe shino...

Anyway I wish they do a whole season on Neji and hinata em. That would own....

If Sai is about to betray them, did he have to go through all that trouble of teaming up w/ them? Blah, he's a nobody. Kabuto for the win...

We have to give it up to Naruto though! He's taken on ALL three of the legendary Sannins BY HIMSELF!!! No other character in the manga can make that claim! And he's still standing. WoW.

I don't think Naruto specifically has much of anything to do with Danzou's plans(which means that it's possible that he's not exactly going out of his way to cause harm to Naruto directly). Orochimaru was their target, seems like, and I'm sure he knew that Naruto's group would come into contact with Orochimaru sooner or later, hence Sai being teamed up with him.

But I wonder what he's got planned. We know what Danzou thinks of Tsunade/Sarutobi/Ni/Shodaime's ideals--perhaps he thought Orochimaru was a much more suitable candidate for Hokage, and has plans to help him try to conquer the village once again.

So yeah, no more Kyuubi transformations(for awhile)! Hiraishin/Rasengan combinations FTW.

I'm at the part in the anime where Killua failed the Hunter exam. It's amazing, every character in HxH has been ripped in some way shape or form by the Naruto universe... Pffft.

unless I am mistaken HxH manga was already half way through the York Shin arc before Naruto even started Chuunin exam...

and HxH was pretty much finished the Hunter exam before Naruto manga even began...

add to the fact that Kishimoto is a complete NEWB, while Togashi is 15+ year veteran... it's much more likely Kishimoto was enfluenced Togashi rather then the other way around... especially since Kishimoto grew up reading JUMP in the era of Dragon Ball and Yu Yu Hakusho...

Togashi likes to recycle storylines and ideas from his previous series. Almost everything in HxH can be related back to Yu Yu and Level E(his best work IMO)... so he definately doesn't need to copy any one else... though others are often spotted ripping him off... ie. Black Cat

I don't mean that you should know exactly where the story is headed. Authors usually drop hints to let the reader know what possible direction the manga might head in for a couple of chapters.

But see, those aren't really "paths". We all know Ichigo wil never join Aizen, and he won't join the vaizards either. So all that's left is path no. 2: remain a shinigami, after of course learning the trick to hollow suppression.

I personally think Naruto's going pretty good right now. We got some nice development of characters, especially in the case of Sakura and Naruto. The plot's picking up speed unlike that snail's pace it was going at during the last arc, and lastly, that Naruto vs. Oro battle was fucking sweet.

- Naruto has no conscious memory of being in KN4 mode. Meaning that either Kyuubi was in command...or the more likely and DBZ-influenced latter; much like the Oozaru, he became a berserker and forgot everything that happened once he was himself again.

- Sakura wuvs Naruto. :lovin: Yamato was practically about to spell it out for her, when of course it gets interrupted by Naruto waking up. Hmm...didn't see that one coming. Oh wait, I did. :rofl:

- Sai's probably gonna be Oro's next host body. Come on, we all knew it wouldn't be Sasuke.

My theory.

The powers one gets through kyuubi are completely unique.

The attacks we've seen naruto use with kyuubi chakra and the release of the tails are completely unique to him and really fit his personality well. Brute force with a cup of surprise here and there.

What I'm saying is that, the attacks naruto gains through kyuubi are completely unique to him and personality. It's a combination of the kyuubi power and your personality, style of combat, and technique that ultimately decide what the kyuubi power is used for.

For example:

If sasuke had the kyuubi he would NOT be using the same (dhalism arm stretching/giant rasengan) attacks that naruto is currently using. He would probably end up using kyuubi sharingan with kyuubi chidori thunderstorm.

As much as I love Hinata, unless her fighting skill has increased considerably she'd be annihilated fighting with Sakura, since Hinata's forte is hand to hand (aka right in reach of the super chakra punches Sakura can dish out). If she's been seriously training and not just serving tea to daddy these past two years, then she might have a chance, as Jyuuken redirects attacks without force, meaning she'd be able to indirectly parry Sakura's attacks (since directly blocking her punch would break her arms) and shut off her chakra points.

So, if Hinata's trained, she might do something. But since this is Kishimoto we're talikng about, and seems to have forgotten any characters other than Naruto and Sakura exist (thus making the expected relationship all the more annoying), she probably hasn't.

BTW, anyone ever wonder whether Sakura's gotten to the point where she can kick with the super strength, too? We've seen Tsunade do it, but up until now Sakura's been a boxer.

My theory.

The powers one gets through kyuubi are completely unique.

The attacks we've seen naruto use with kyuubi chakra and the release of the tails are completely unique to him and really fit his personality well. Brute force with a cup of surprise here and there.

What I'm saying is that, the attacks naruto gains through kyuubi are completely unique to him and personality. It's a combination of the kyuubi power and your personality, style of combat, and technique that ultimately decide what the kyuubi power is used for.

For example:

If sasuke had the kyuubi he would NOT be using the same (dhalism arm stretching/giant rasengan) attacks that naruto is currently using. He would probably end up using kyuubi sharingan with kyuubi chidori thunderstorm.

The problem with that theory is that you have no idea what Naruto's personality IS. He's been bonded with the kyubi his entire life. Naruto's personality is most likely BECAUSE of the kyubi. You think it's just coincidence that the villages greatest trickster is bonded with the fox spirit?

i like how you think, and glad you came out with this knowingfull well people will most likely reply with "NO, naruto sucks!!"

this makes alot of sense, he is the ultimate prankster in the village, master of pranking = master of surprise

i doubt anyone one else would be as imaginative with the power of the kyubi as naruto

As I recall Toriyama didn't want to milk DBZ at all; he wanted the series to end once and for all after the Frieza saga. Didn't he stop writing after that?

Anywho, I just know it was really popular and Toriyama bailed out at some point.

And I don't think Kishimimoto is milking it much. I think he doesn't really know where he wants to go with the series and is being pushed to get it out, ergo sacrificing things like 'plot'.

yeah, Sakura has the whole sidekick thing going for her, but, I don't know if that'll be enough. she's coming off like the Juggernaught in Marvel comics, just without armor.............and big boobs. and well, you get the picture. she's just strong and kinda smart, and has inner sakura. that's the ONLY reason she tied with ino. what a fluke win. Hinata went toe to toe with one of the toughest genin in the villiage, and later on beat up some jerk off ninja's big wasp summons, pretty much single-handedly. and she actually WANTS naruto. that's a lot in her favor. unless Sakura can do that healing trick that Tsunade did, and maybe even IF she can, Hinata has this thing locked up shoved the key down sakura's throat. All she can hope to do is shit out a win.

curious in regards to the wanted hinata vs sakura for naruto's love fight.

at least in the filler cartoons, hinata has gotten more powerful. didn't she create some like super kaiten and just get better as a fighter in general? if this is the case, wouldn't she have a better chance in a fight against sakura? but then again, this was only in the anime and not the manga. do you guys even see this as canon?

yea, in the anime, hinata did come up with some long range attacks, and something similar to Neji's chakra shield...dunno if Sakura could cut through the chakra.

I think Hinata vs Sakura would be an interesting fight. Basically Hinata can't be hit by sakura or it's GGPO, but it'll be hard for Sak to land a clean hit. Also i wonder if Sakura can heal herself fast enough to the type of chakra flow attacks that Hinata's clan is know for. (if the flow is cut off, then Sak loses her monster strength).

Don't like where this is headed. It's not the fact that Naruto doesn't remember, I expected that. It's that they're not telling him about anything about what he did. I'm hoping they're withholding the information so that he can concentrate on the mission, and that they'll tell him when it's finished. If not, I don't see how Naruto's going to change much for the majority of Part 2.

I expected this to be his turning point.

Are you surprised? We all have been reading this manga for 250+ chapters and the main character hasn't any real character growth. He is still the same moron now that he was at the start of the manga. Secondary characters like Sasuke and Sakura have been going through changes while Naruto remains Naruto. This manga is following the dragon ball z formula a little too much IMO.

Gokuu was a lot more calm and collected after his training with Kami. He wasn't an entirely different person, nobody expected that, but he wasn't really the naive fool he started out as either. He continued to make progressive changes like that until the series end.

That's the kind of change I expected from Naruto after his time with Jiraiya.
You only expected a little bit of change and instead you got nothing, just like the rest of us. I after what took place with Sasuke before the time skip I was expecting Naruto to come back and be a little bit more serious. The guy hasn't grown emotionally or mentally at all.

Do you really want a matured Naruto? That's not his style. He's a fox, he's gonna be a trickster. And because he has this natural "Talent" (more like Power) from the Kyuubi, he's never had to have a tough lesson in losing since becoming a ninja, and thus doesn't have the composure of somebody like Sakura, Sasuke, or Rock Lee. And, from the looks of it, he won't have to any time soon either. IMO it makes more sense for him to stay thick headed than to suddenly show up and go, "Wow, maybe I should think this battle through for a second before I run in there and kick their ass with my unlimited chakra."

Now the real question is, in the final chapter, are we gonna se a mature Naruto as Hokage, or a trickster Hokage playing pranks on the next upstart of the village? I guess the answer depends on if he ever expels the fox from himself, or just carries it for the rest of his life like Gaara has thus far.

Oh yeah, I forgot. You watch the crappy anime with fillers that mean nothing to the actual storyline. Yes, in the anime studio's world, Hinata has much more of a chance of actually being able to fight her.

But then we get back to reality (the manga) and realize that Hinata can't do any of the shit the anime shows her doing, until proven otherwise by a manga chapter. So all she has to her merit is that she fought Neji back in Part 1, and got owned. Oh yeah, and beating up on Joe Nameless Sound Ninja in the Forest of Death, I think.

Face it, Hinata would probably get rocked if she tried to fight Sakura nowadays. She's jumped from useless to badass mofo in two volumes, and I'm thinking that Hinata hasn't been training even half as much as she has. Not that Hinata's dumb enough to do such a thing (since she's a pretty level-headed person and probably wouldn't resort to violence anyway), but if she did, the Konoha hospital would be her next stop. Oh yeah, and...

EDIT: To the guy asking about the anime/manga differences, the anime IS NOT CANON. Fillers are made up by the studio producing the show, and Kishi has very little to no involvement whatsoever in their creation. So in actuality, Hinata can't do any of the stuff they're showing until proven otherwise in the manga, just as Anko has never actually seen Kyuubi Naruto (apparently she does or something like that in the filler), Sakura didn't have Tsunade-esque super strength until the time-skip, and there DAMN SURE ain't no fucking Tea Ninjas, Idate, or any other retarded BS the anime shows.

That's just speculation though. I remember Dj reporting that during an interview Kishi said he approved of the filler. However, I do believe that it's likely just PR and that might not be how he really feels about it, but still, as is we do not know that as a fact.

Ok I offically quit Naruto for good as of today

I've been a reader of this thread ever since Naruto 6 started, been long time reader of Naruto since the start. At the beginning I only borrow Naruto manga at my local book store at a chinese mall, but start DL them here afterward... thanks for the DL link everyone, especially Saist.

I always been upset by the way everything turned out to be as the whole Naruto manga unfold. Everything slowly starts to go downhill after the exam chapter ends... Story got boring, character got uninteresting, drawing got shittier, plothole and question was left unanswer. I was trying really really hard not to be discourage and hoping something will change, hopping this whole ninetail story is getting somewhere, but at the end I was disappointed. Now its just garbage in my eyes.

Anywho, I somewhat told myself that if this dont get better soon, I will just quit entirly from wasting my time reading/DLing/looking for anything related to Naruto. And that day has come, I found myself enjoy other series much more than this, such as Bleach, HxH...ext

So yah, whatever, I will stop reading Naruto, so see ya people (although I rarely post here) and thanks for all the DL link
But seriously, ask yourself why you still holding on to Naruto?

So, what's the news on the Naruto games? Shouldn't they have at least released the first on here in the states by now? The first one(GC) apparently only includes characters seen up through the early part of the story with Zabuza...(*resulting in a substandard roster, imo)

Just bought the first one. It came out in the states this week. I didn't have high hopes for it, I really wanna play 4 though.

Beat the game and unlocked everything in a few hours. Fun to kill time with friends, but seriously lacking otherwise(story mode is 7 fights and you're done).

I saw playasia had part 2 import + freeloader for around 45 dollars, might pick that up to hold me over. I just wanted to buy it and help support the english naruto titles.

Just keep in mind most of those matches are subpar. Dispite that, Naruto:GNT4(the JP title abbreviated) is a great fighting game, very fun. Use the board Stabby linked to to talk about it. It could use more players with the fighting game state of mind.

If you really want to just get the localized ones, don't get the first one. At least wait for the second because in comparison, that game is WAY more complete.

AFAIK CON2(as the english version is Clash of Ninja) is already supposed to come out here so If everyone buys that I odn't think it'll be a problem. Let alone that I believe CON1 will sell perfectly fine anyway because I'm sure there's already plenty of kids who won't hesitate to get it. For the gamers that care about a good quality game though, I'd still say to wait for the 2nd game.

if the main focus "naruto" was mature then it will lose all its fans

this cartoon is one with alot of life lessons and tries to relate to people of ALL ages, the children who watches it start believing in fighting for whats right and unnoticably gain responsablity in their decisions, naruto basically is a role model for all kids in all situations, him being alone and still a good guy puts hope in kids psyche for even when they are alone, kids that when growing up they get into dodgy shit cause its the only way to get attention

people these days just think EVERYTHING on tv/paper just because its interesting and exciting they think thats the only purpose it serves

this is why i want to change the way people think about things, i wanna try and help people identify whats useful cos everyone who wrap themselves in the word "mature" are the only people who seemingly are missing it, your too wrapped in other peoples advice, let go of past practise and explore the things that make you do what you do

Yeah, even if I don't get the game, I'll prolly come just to check it out and have a good time. I think I am gonna break down and buy it though, just because I have a weakness like that. I was playing with a friend tonight on part 1, and the thing we both said was "It just leaves us with a need for more." 4 years ago, the game was as complete as could be expected. I think everyone was expecting too much out of Naruto after the time skip. If he went off to train with Iruka or Kakashi for that time I would understand why everyone would expect him to mature but as other have said he went off to train with Jiraiya.

Now in case you forgot Jiraiya while being a very powerful Sanin is NOT exactly the best role model as far as maturity goes. Sure he probably taught Naruto more techniques that we have seen so far but, he also drinks a lot and goes off drooling/ flirting with girls all the time. Sure he trained the fourth but I think the Fourth was a bit more level headed than Naruto was.

To be honest I’m surprised he didn’t come back doing even more perverted jutsu’s. Like a Sexy no Jutsu into Rasengen.

What basically goes down in 299, from translations off Mangahelpers...

- Sai hanging from the tree was (obviously) a bunshin.

- While the team tries to catch up to Oro, Sakura falls from a tree due to her injury, Yamato catches her. Naruto asks about it, she says nothing.

- Yamato finally clues Naruto in as to what happens when he goes KN4 (both recently and vs. Jiraiya)

- Yamato tells Naruto that if he wants to save Sasuke and protect Sakura, he should do it with his own strength, not the Kyuubi's. Naruto gets "hero's determined look #7658"...and we're probably witnessing the end of "KYUUBI SMASH" for a good long while, folks. Thank you, Kishimoto. :bgrin:
