At least we finally got a glimpse of Sasuke in 300, but we have to wait until next week to get a full look at the future spokesperson of Emo everywhere.

I really liked Sai's picture book, with everything that it implies (such as that he killed his brother), and the creativity that was put into it. But I think it made sakura look kinda dumb to have naruto point out he was using the weapons from the previous enemy. She's the smart one, and if she doesn't have that going for her, then she might as well get into the back seat of the Manga again.

It's not so much an indication of how strong a Ninja he is, Sasuke has always talked to people with an arrogant, disrespectful tone--even Kakashi. It's one of his character traits. And I doubt that Orochimaru really minds, he probably sees it as a really strong character point, and will be more than willing to have it be a part of his already arrogant persona when he takes Sasuke's body.

Though I do believe he's at that point where he can compete with Shinobi of Orochimaru's caliber. Maybe not with Orochimaru specifically, because of the Curse Seal(but then, Kakashi's Evil Seal may play a part in that).

Sasuke has all the advantages that would come in his growth that Itachi did--talent for using techniques, the Sharingan; except he has been training under one of the most powerful Ninjas alive with the strong desire to kill Itachi.

And I don't think he's Kage-level, but if he's at about the same level of skill as Kakashi that would effectively put him at a point where he could stand his ground against Shinobi like that, while still having enough room to grow in order to defeat them.

That's what it seems like, but what role that book plays in this part has yet to be seen. He still might be on the side of Konoha, just as a double agent sort of deal, we don't know fully yet.

As far as Sasuke, nobody holds out any kind of hope he's just been using Oro to gain power for 3 years without actually turning to the dark side? He absolutely hates his brother and wants him to die, but he can't let himself become like his brother or else he would have to hate himself too. Therefore he can't turn on his friends, otherwise his entire quest for vengance would be for naught.

So, I still hold out hope he's been using Oro and hasn't turned evil yet.

Which makes sense. Growth is slow. Can you honestly tell me that you were completely different from how you were at 12 when you were 15? Sure, you're tastes and ideas may have matured slightly (which we have certainly seen in the characters), but you were still fairly similar. This weeks volume actually shocked me. Pre-timejump, Naruto would never have the cognitive thinking or patience to make all the observations about the picture book he made. He's actually *gasp* GOTTEN SMARTER! And Sakura's grown a helluva lot for just 3 years. She's gone from bitchy cheerleader to Tsunade 2.0. Right now its kinda like manga filler is going on.... I thought they where taking on autskia or however you spell it. Now its all about oro kabuto, and Sai..... And now there starting this whole other thing with sasuke, sai, sakura and naurto. I'm guessing it'll be like 1-15 chapters of that

i think what gonna happen is naruto is going to get his ass raped by sasuke, then he either converts his kyuubi powers with his chakra or whatever, and morph into a new, less-friend-killing version of four tails (or something simliar). then whooping sasuke's ass (with rasengan variant).

then sasuke snaps back into "normal" minded sasuke for a brief moment, then shaking it off and going back into badass sasuke. Then he runs away with oro and gang.

I don't exactly support the "Kabuto is the final villain" theorists, or think there's any more to his strength as a Ninja than what we've seen thus far, but he will definitely play a very important role at the end of the series.

Lookin' foward to the next couple of chapters, as I'm very curious about how strong Sasuke is right now. I've been toutin' some big shit for the past year or so, y'all know. But I'm more lookin' foward to what's comin' up after all of this. With the involvement of Danzou and Orochimaru, it's pretty obvious that there's going to be another war coming up, with former members of "Root" and Orochimaru's Sound Nin attempting to overtake the Fire Country.

The interestin' thing about it, is that Danzou's men will be able to take Konoha out from the inside. The ANBU seemed to be one of the pivotal reasons Konoha was able to win the battle between the Sound and Sand, if Danzou tears them apart, Konoha will be put in a pretty vulnerable position. With the ANBU gone, I think this is where the kids are going to step up and play a very important role in Konoha's defense, and Team 7 will make a name for themselves as the new Denetsu no Sannin. Being put in a war situation would allow them to grow at a pretty rapid pace, and make their inevitable fights with Kage-level opponents a bit more believable. It's just a matter of them developing their unique strengths, and I can't see Kishimoto doing that in any other way than constant life-or-death battles, just like their teachers years ago. Don't think Kishi has time for training montages right now.

Sai's brother is Kabuto. But, the twist here is, Kabuto is his DEAD brother, and he was somehow re-animated with all the corpse twisting power that Oro has. Now Sai is going to finish the job off so his brother can finally rest in peace.

Either that, or when he said "My brother is already dead," he was just speaking metaphorically. But in any case, the fact that in the book, it showed the two about to face off means the white haired brother must still be alive, because Sai himself said "It's not done yet." So who else could he be going to confront if not Kabuto?

The book is actually about his brother and Itachi. After each fight they learn the skills of their previous opponent (sharingan). When it gets to the middle, only one of the friends is left with having killed the other (Mangekyo Sharingan). So this ties Sai into the Uchiha family, creating a third MS user, and giving a reasonable excuse as to why Sasuke will be safe from Orochimaru (He'll take Sai instead)

Well I just finally stopped waiting to the filler is over and read the mange all the way to 300. Anyway, didn't Jiraya teached Naruto a new justu but told him not to use it? He said it befer they went to the sound village.

Of course, Sasuke has the potential to be more of a "jutsu specialist" than Naruto, simply because of his Sharingan. But this doesn't really excuse Naruto, if, in fact, he has only come back with refined Kage Bunshins and Rasengans, and one brand new, powerful Ninjutsu. Naruto has the capacity to learn a lot of stuff in a small time frame as well, because of his determination and regenerative capabilities.

For now, I'm going to give Kishimoto the benefit of the doubt and say that Naruto simply hasn't been given the right opportunity to show off some of his new techniques. This will probably lead to disappointment, but whatever; Naruto should've came back with a lot of new Ninjutsu. And he should've been able to perform a Rasengan with one hand by now. :mad:

The story line was completely set up in a manner that Naruto should've came back diesel as all hell.

2. Naruto needed to be protected, but Jiraya couldn't be around him all the time.

3. Naruto was also EXTREMELY eager to learn new things. Even more so then Sasuke, remember when he left with Jiraya ? He was like "C'mon C'MON C'MON !!!! Let's go ! TEACH TEACH TEACH !!!"

4. Jiraya is a badass who knows tons of jutsu.

Naruto should have come back as a mini Jiraya. It would have been cool if he did the hair spikes, the mud bog, and the oil based fire stuff while doing shadow clones when he fought kakashi for the lil bell test.

With his GIGANTIC stamina, GIGANTIC deterimination, and 3 years with a hokage level ninja teaching him as much as possible so he can defend himself again super strong Akatsuki crazies, it's kinda a slap in the face to us readers that Naruto is still doing the same crap in a different jacket.

Double Rasengans would have been a given as well. I mean damn Kishimoto, having Naruto's main offense be clones and him having a HUGE supply of chakra gives you a huge creative pool in terms of his fighting abilities.

I have to agree w/ VS on that one. Also, we had to endure the long break before chapter 245 I think, and wait a long time to see Sasuke. There is NOTHING of significance in terms of Naruto's growth that has been exhibited by him. Nothing! The stuff that happened w/ Kyuubi doesn't count either. I'm sure that in the upcoming episodes the author will make Naruto seem very cool w/ jutsus and what not, but he kind of fumbled the ball a little and now he's trying to pick it back up. He probably lossed a few fans in the process.

Orochi never came off as the ninja with the most fighting skill. He's always come off as the ninja that might slice your throat at any given time and the one that always had some kinda under handed fail safe backup plan. Jiraiya recognized that he's not a person who works well with groups and is a loner by nature. he saw his own weakness and reccommended Tsunade because of it. That's not cowardly. Jiraiya is training Naruto because they're essentially the same. If you haven't noticed, very rarely does Naruto learn based on instruction. he gets a little information and tries until he gets it. Naruto's Jutsu are the same as Rock Lee's in that regard. They both learn through constant practice. You can explain shit to Naruto all day and he won't get it until he's tried to do it over and over. Jiraiya recognizes this because he was the same way and he's able to train Naruto despite his learning disability.

i started watching the anime subs not too long ago and i'm on ep 172. i watched them back to back pretty much with not much time in between each ep.

from what i can see:
saskue = like orochimaru
naruto = like jiraiya
sakura = like tsunade

i'm not sure how it is in the comic, but orochimaru, jiriaya ,and tsunade represent what saske, naruto, and sakura could/will become, respectively.

saskue goes to find orochimaru, jiraiya takes naruto under his wing, and sakura trains under tsunade to be a medical ninja. it seems like if you're watching the show without these connections in mind, you might be missing something. you might miss certain shit like how they hinted at sakura's latent super tsunade-like strength in the hilarious ramen competition episode.

any way you look at it, orochimaru is a badass motherfucker. i'm not saying that orochimaru could easily beast on the other two legendary ninjas, but its the same as sasuke taking on naruto and sakura at the same time.

It's short, so that makes it semi-believable. But I still have my doubts, as I see no point in Sai and Sasuke suddenly "sparring" like that.

I think that Orochimaru will eventually take Sasuke's body, but not in the next few chapters, it isn't quite 3 years(5-6 more months to go), and I think there's still much that needs to be covered before that happens. So whatever technique Orochimaur promised to teach Sasuke, I don't think it has anything to do with taking over his body.

When Orochimaru takes Sasuke's body, or at least attempts to, Kakashi's Evil Seal will play an important part, I think.

Yeah, I think it's going to happen, or he'll at least be very close to taking Sasuke's body. The Curse Seal is the main reason why I think Orochimaru would be so confident in taking Sasuke's body(and not hold back in training him for these past 2 and a half years). If it's anything like the Hyuuga's Curse Seal(and it seems as though it is, seeing as how they're both under the same listing in the 1st Databook), then Orochimaru would have a great deal of influence over Sasuke, and could restrain him whenever the time comes for him to snatch his body.

Kakashi's Evil Seal, which has helped Sasuke suppress the effects of the Curse Seal in the past through his will, could play an important part in Sasuke resisting Orochimaru once he attempts to take over his body, and could even lead to Orochimaru's death, if Sasuke is indeed the "Susasoou" of this story.

I do =) I've been downloading series from the service for MONTHS now. The one thing about it is that it's convenient. Downloads are fast depending on the time of day you dl, and there are tons of titles to choose from. All in all, it's a good service and you can set it up so that they only charge you once for the amount of bandwith you want. You can then order more when that's done. Or you can do monthly charges, which I wouldn't recommend...

Kabuto tells say to spend some time in a room there?
However, because Kabuto doesn't fully trust Sai, he locks him inside.
But Kabuto forgot the ANBU data on the bed in the room? (not sure)
Once Sai verified Kabuto left, he takes out a scroll.
He activates a jutsu. He starts to scan the book that appeared. (?)
Using Yamato's ability, Naruto, Yamato and Sakura arrive where Sai is.
Sai feels someone is coming, and hides the book in his bag.
Meanwhile, Kabuto notices he forgot the book at the room, and starts going back. At that time, Yamato's team interrogates Sai, and hear from him about the plan to destory Konoha. (not sure)
