anyway once I catch up to the filler stuff I'm going to start the manga. Al tough I think I'll stick to the translations as I checked out Viz's Version and saw "Art of the doppleganger" and "the Art of me and my shadow". I put the book back down and slowly backed away from that shit.

Naruto obviously hasnt been given a chance at all yet, they havent shown his power or lack therof yet(or anyone else really). imo its pretty obvious though he's going to pretty much be the strongest out of his class, imo the deidara fight proves that, since he hardly did anything in the most boring ass fight ever to grace the pages of naruto(shit maybe even all manga) How that was handled leaves me to believe Naruto will seriously kick ass soon.

And I got to say, they need to kick it up soon, the time jump had all kinds of potential and so far all we've gotten is Deidara runaway and the most drawnout fight ever with Sasori. we've had like 50 chapters of retardation since time skip, nothings even really happened for the most part, smh.

We got an arbitrary arch where Gaara is supposedly killed, but it was clear he wasnt in any danger at all. I mean, Chiyo Baa had no real reason to exist other than to bring Gaara back to life. We can assume that the Akatsuki are going to be important at some point, but they've been introduced for a longass time and we've had almost no Akatsuki development, leads me to almost think the whole Akatsuki plot is filler to keep Itachi doing something and thats it:mad: I guess these chapters are all dependent on what is ahead though, so w/e...

Yeah, I know that Naruto's gonna beast, everybody knows it. There's no way that after two and some years with a Sannin, all he got was a more controllable Kyuubi and clone-aided Rasengans.

The short of it is, Sasaori gets sacrificed so that Sakura can get some street cred, despite the fact that that he should've wiped the floor clean with both of them without help. Dedara somehow gets it worse when Kakashi whips out a Mangekyou Sharingan like eye and sucks up his entire bomb blast. In other words, you got out lucky. However, it looks like the potential for things to go good is showing up soon. I hope this will be true.

To be honest, the storyline is dragging so much that such a defeat would actually pick things up a little. Still, It isn't gonna happen. Sasuke Vs. Naruto part 2 is gonna be a knock-down, drag out, property crushing war. Nothing else will suffice.

Agreed. I would've given more love if he had just busted out some crazy Sword or Kali Stick based jutsus, but artwork? It's not an entirely bad idea, but it just doesn't cut the mustard in this case. It sounds like it may have been better as a kind of back-up attack for anothner fighter (I.E. You have someone rushing the target down while Sai puts the art on to help with the attack. ) Why the Akatsuki put so much faith in this guy is beyond me.

I have a question for you people. It was stated in the manga by Kakashi, that using the Mangekyou Sharingan allows for deteration of the eyes. Is this temporary or is it permanent? If it is permanent, I'm guessing the eyes get worse over time.

Also, what's up with AonE? Have they stopped subbing....? I think the stopped at 149.

Haku and Zabuza are staying dead, and people in this series do die... Kishimoto's problem is that he has a serious problem killing off characters central to the story, and a lot of bullshit is involved when they face other villains/opponents that have the potential to be fleshed out a lot more-- just like Haku and Zabuza.

At the point you're at, from all the characters you've seen so far: Sarutobi, aka Sandaime Hokage.

There's also the Denetsu no Sannin(Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Tsunade), Sarutobi's apprentices. Uchiha Itachi, Sasuke's older brother, and Yondaime Hokage.

Sakura just beat up Sasori with the help of an old lady. How they weren't killed in two panels is astounding. Kishi's shitty writing is a total factor in this thinking, but thats how it's always going to be. There's lots of stuff in the series that should be going on or happening, but doesn't. If you're going to tier the characters you need to scale in the "Shitty Japanese Writing" theory.

So I'm sticking by my tiers...

-Sannins, Akatsuki leader

-Itachi, Kisame, other Akatsuki people, the high Jounins (Gai, Kakashi, etc)

-Team 7 (minus Sasuke, you know when he comes back he is going to have magic powers and shit, Kishi has a dick crush on him, Naruto will probably leap up to where ever Sasuke is in the tiers after they fight and use all of those "THAT JUTSUS", so this tier will probably be just Sakura after the fight)

Sasori took out an entire country, and killed the Sand's strongest Kazekage.
Kishimoto has pointed out Orochimaru saying Itachi was stronger than him twice.
Kakashi said that he was incapable of fighting Itachi 1-on-1 in Part 2, even with a Doujutsu on Itachi's level, and a possible way to counter his Tsukuyomi. And Kakashi is basically the strongest Jounin we've seen thus far, with Gai right next to him.
Gai needed 6 Gates to take out a clone of Kisame with only 30% of his chakra, and was getting rocked in a close-range exchange before the use of the Gates(and we know how high Gai's physical attributes are).

Yeah, maybe there are some Shinobi within Akatsuki that are simply high-level Jounin, none of the members we've been introduced to so far, but there might be some.

Sasori was fighting against an aged, but powerful Kunouchi that knew a great deal about him and his attack patterns. And a young, but also powerful(at least high-level Chuunin at this point) Kunouchi with a talent that allowed them to persevere against Sasori's attacks(her quick grasp of Sasori's attack patterns, evasive ability, and her Medical Ninjutsu). Only bullshit that went on during this fight was Sasori letting himself get killed at the end, everything that lead up to that point was fine by me.

He was stronger than them both, he could have killed them.

If you have any other examples of how Kishi's writing contradicts with some of his claims about these characters power, then throw them out.

Eh? After the whole incident with Itachi, capturing Naruto was pretty much put on hold because of the preparations for extracting the Bijuu-- not to mention that he was off hiding somewhere by Jiraiya's side.

And before you use that to support your argument, Jiraiya is still an incredibly strong Shinobi, regardless of how he may fair against any individual member of Akatsuki. I believe they're all strong enough to risk getting seriously fucked up by making one single mistake-- both of 'em. Even if Itachi didn't overestimate Jiraiya and judge his strength soley on his reputation as one of the Sannin, he still probably would've avoided confrontation because of the risk of injury. Their health seemed to be at a much higher priority than capturing Jinchuuriki at that point.

Itachi was hesitant to fight at that point because of the condition that Tsukuyomi left him in. Gai and the other two Jounin could have been dealt with by Kisame, but then there was the prospect of ANBU and other reinforcements coming through and assisting them. And no, I don't want to get into how useless you may think the ANBU are, or if Itachi and Kisame could have taken on the whole village if it came down to that, but I know you aren't gonna tell me there wasn't a huge risk involved by staying there.

While Itachi was in a bad state, what he said about not wanting to start a war with Konoha still holds.

Hey, back then people had good reason to believe Itachi was "NUMBER ONE".

Either way, Kishimoto didn't imply that Orochimaru was afraid of Itachi's potential, or that he simply too strong to take his body. That line is pretty clear, and Kishimoto even made note of it in the 2nd Databook.

Maybe he did use Mangekyou Sharingan, but he most certainly didn't abuse it, like I said before. Regardless of how much time he had to rest, all that went on during one day/evening. If Mangekyou Sharingan was the sole reason behind his absolute victory, he certainly wouldn't have had enough time to freshen up and use two more Tsukuyomi on Sasuke afterwards. Unless you're Naruto with Kyuubi-assist, you don't recover chakra that fast.

And he didn't just recieve Mangekyou Sharingan. A bit of time passed after he murdered Shisui. I think it was Sho on NF that made a timeline of the events that transpired during the Uchiha flashback. Itachi was probably 11-12 years old when he killed Shisui(shock, around the time Orochimaru left Akatsuki because he thought Itachi was stronger than him), and 13 when he slaughtered the Uchiha clan.

Chiyo wasn't just an old lady, and Sakura isn't the whiney bitch we knew her as about a year ago; they weren't normal Kunouchi. Both of them had abilities/talents that gave them distinct advantages against Sasori's assaults, offensively and defensively. If that was an even older Sarutobi, and Part 1 Sasuke facing off against Sasori, they wouldn't have faired nearly as well.

Yes, it sucks that this powerful character was pushed so far by an old lady and a lil' female Chuunin, it sucks that he died in the end. But look at what those characters were capable of.

No, Itachi was simply that much better.
Everyone wasn't like Itachi. Kishimoto already established that Itachi was a badass when he hinted at Itachi being stronger than Orochimaru shortly after he became a Chuunin. He was an ANBU Captain by the time he did the dirty deed.
In the Uchiha Flashback, he easily floored two grown ass members of the Police Force-- all with Sharingan.
Not everyone in the Uchiha clan has Sharingan. It's an ability only born in select few Uchiha. And the Sharingan's ability is totally dependant on who's using it, one Sharingan user doesn't cancel out another.
The Sannin, and Kakashi all left the Academy when they were 5-- all super early 'n' shit, and the times and rules on promotions were different because of the wars that were going on. Itachi graduated, and was known as the greatest student in the Academy's history when he left.

Now let me ask you this: How powerful do you think your average Uchiha really was? Me? I don't think many of them could put down many of Konoha's Jounin Instructors. They based that judgement soley on Jiraiya's reputation as one of the Sannin, not because of any past experience or extensive knowledge of his abilities. Why do you think they tried to avoid confrontation while in the village? It's the same reason they tried to avoid confrontation with Jiraiya as best they could. Regardless of how powerful they are, putting the secret of their organization, and the their safety at risk was a big no-no. And considering the level all of them are at, the risk of injury or death was high on both sides, and that was what they(or more specifically, Itachi) was trying to avoid. Capturing Naruto wasn't that big of a priority at that point, it wasn't worth getting fucked up over. Akatsuki had to do more than just capture the Jinchuuriki to gain their Bijuu at that time.

Real quick, Naruto is bullshit now. I don't watch/read it regularly at all anymore, but I have to weigh in on the Itachi thing.

To me, it makes perfect sense for Itachi to be able to kill off the whole clan.

Kishi went to great trouble to show how Itachi has fundamental differences in his beliefs than other Uchihas did. The others were limited in their fighting by their reliance on the name Uchiha. They may have been great at Uchiha shit, but Itachi saw his name as a limitation, which probably means that he went to great lengths to seperate himself from his clan, by learning new techniques that others hadn't seen (and, oh yeah, joining Akatsuki...).

To me, it makes absolute sense for Itachi to be able to fuck up his clan. It doesn't mean the rest of the Uchiha sucked. It just means that they weren't ready for what he had, and Itachi was 100% prepared for what they would throw out, since, being the heir to the clan, he was aware of all they could do (and greatly disappointed by it).

As somebody who is currently grossly dissapointed by the limitations people around me put on themselves (I go to a Black college. It's fucking disgusting...), I can relate to one person being leaps and fucking bounds ahead of everyone else, just because of a fundamental difference in attitude.

In short: makes sense to me!

Meaning that they would have said the same about Orochimaru or Tsunade if they were guarding Naruto-- and we have one of those characters claiming that Itachi is stronger.

Why do you think they tried to avoid confrontation while in the village? It's the same reason they tried to avoid confrontation with Jiraiya as best they could. Regardless of how powerful they are, putting the secret of their organization, and the their safety at risk was a big no-no. And considering the level all of them are at, the risk of injury or death was high on both sides, and that was what they(or more specifically, Itachi) was trying to avoid. Capturing Naruto wasn't that big of a priority at that point, it wasn't worth getting fucked up over. Akatsuki had to do more than just capture the Jinchuuriki to gain their Bijuu at that time.


See, THIS was the only part of your argument I had a problem with.

Both Kisame and Itachi knew Orochimaru. In fact, they knew him quite well.

And yet, they know Itachi is "more powerful" than Orochimaru.

They ALSO knew Orochimaru was one of the Legendary Sennin.

So then, why were they afraid of Jiraiya? He's also a Legendary Sennin, and yet they were very fearful of him.

I don't think they were only afraid of his "Reputation". My guess is, they could sense how powerful Jiraiya was (Chakra = Chi DBZ power level) and decided he was too strong.

Honestly, I think Jiraiya is a hell of a lot more powerfull than Kishi has shown us so far.

It makes no sense for Itachi not to be afraid of Orochimaru and yet be afraid of Jiraiya, (Even WITH Kisame at his side) who he knows is supposed to be "be on the same or similar level" of Orochimaru.

I'm thinking, like Kishimoto has alluded to MANY different times, that Jiraiya is the Naruto of the Sennins, and is the most explosively powerful member. More powerful than both Tsunade and Orochimaru, and both Kisame and Itachi SENSED that, which is why they got scared when they first saw him and ran when they first fought him.

In a nutshell, Sasuke seeing Naruto summon Gamabunta made his penis feel small. Same deal with the water tank incident when he saw the Rasengan deal far greater damage to the water tank.

Also, Orochimaru wants to lure Sasuke to Neverland with the promise of power, and of course Naruto will have none of that and will get in Sasuke's way.

I read it. It seems to me that there's no need for them to fight again. Once Sasuke got his "power" I see no reason for him and Naruto to want to fight except to test each other.

Edit: He already got in Sasuke's way. Sasuke got his power, so I don't see why he can't return to Konoha in peace. The ONLY reason I can see him fighting Naruto at this point is to-like I said- test each other and see which is stronger.

IMO Sasuke is no longer a good guy. He will do anything to avenge his clan. At the moment he is nothing but a pawn. Both orochimaru and itachi have plans for Sasuke. Orochimaru's plans are obvious, but Itachi's plan's for Sasuke aren't.

No they don't. Orochimaru left because he thought Itachi was stronger than him, that doesn't mean Itachi and the rest o
