Mic usage a rarity?

Just started playing this game and notice noone ever uses a mic...is it because of joystick usage or just noone uses it.

I only see like, casual people use the mic. It's kind of annoying actually. Because it "distracts" them, right?

I usually use the mic to ask questions or say other things such as leaving, gg, good combo etc... It gets kinda quiet without a mic I find...maybe when I get better and need to focus I'll think otherwise. You owned me today though lol..gg

Bah...Farsi always throws me off. Studying Arabic myself right now, and it blows my mind how they can be sooo close to one another, yet be completely worlds apart.

I don't use the mic becuase my Ps2->Xbox adapter dosen't allow me to.

It seems most people don't use the mic because they are using arcade sticks without the Xbox headset adapter. I used to keep my mic plugged in pretty regularly but I hardly ever bother with it anymore because as you said it's a rarity to find someone else using one.

My joystick doesn't have a mic plug-in, but even if it did, I probably wouldn't use it. Mic is only good for mainly casual games with multiple players like Midtown Madness 3, etc. Besides, do you really even want to put the mic on and find out what people like Lopaka, Rozales, JetPi, Fatherofnothing and so on sound like? I mean really, just think about the worthless assholes that are the playerbase right now and what kind of people they have to be.

It depends.
Some people don't use a mic because they use a stick and their adaptor doesn't support a mic. Others don't use a mic because they don't want some random scrub talking shit after getting his ass raped. And some people just don't feel like talking.

I won't use a mic while playing fighting games online anymore, distracts the hell out of me, especially when I'm tripping over myself trying to force a conversation with someone who supposedly has their mic on and doesn't talk(whats up with that shit?). This is especially funny because my custom built stick has a mic port on it and I don't use it at all. Doh!

FPS, puzzle games, sports, and racing games though? Hell yeah, as its easier for me to layeth down the shit talking while whipping some ass in those types of games.
