We all know that some games have great music, and this is the thread to share your picks. Post music in here. If you have real game music, remixes(official or otherwise), or even midi's. Put it here. This is a general sharing thread. You may even get people hip to something they don't know about.

I have the real source WAV's I've recorded, I will post them when I convert to MP3 for comparison to the remixeds/midis.

Feel free to post your recommended music as well.

MegaMan X Sigma level 2. Did this game have any bad music? NO. I like how they used the xylophone inplace of the SNES's instrument at :0:44. The rest is better on SNES.

Thanks for the link to Blue Laguna...that got bookmarked immediately. As some may know, I have a strong aversion to most RPGs...but "Liberi Fatali" from ff8 is one of the greatest tracks I've ever heard from a game. That is audio perfection there... I downloaded it off Napster or Lime a few years ago, but I forgot the title...now it's in my iTunes library once again...

I glanced at the Kingdom Hearts section, but I didn't see "Simple and Clean"...was that song only for the commercials and promotion of the game?

just off short-term memory...I have "This Machine" from Sonic Heroes, the Unreal Championship 2 demo voiceover+music character intro thing...and some random Viewtiful Joe stuff(*including my Rainbow V-ranked battle with Captain Blue...beautiful stuff...I think I had 3 or 4 Ukemis on there.), Phantasy Star Online stuff, MvC2(yeah..I'm one of the 3 people in the world that liked it), some SF3, Project Justice(*need to record better versions...the game's audio tracks are naturally very low, volume-wise...), and quite a bit of Smash Bros. Melee stuff.

While the masses overhype Megaman 2 boss battle music, Rockman & Forte's is my #1 favorite Megaman boss BGM. I mean listen to that, it's a bit more intense than the previous 8 games. First time heard that tune when I confronted the Rock Monster at the end of the intro stage, I left my Super Famicom system on for an entire hour listening to that over and over. Wonderswan B&W version of that BGM sounds terrible!

There's a variation of MAME called "CANAME".

It has a jukebox feature where you can make WAVs out of it. Instead of loading the rom itself, you select "Jukebox" command.

But with CANAME, when you play a game or in jukebox mode, I strongly urge you to set the emulator in windowed screen, cause there's a bug in CANAME that keeps it at full screen and you can't close out of it, forcing you to turn your computer off the hard way.

Anybody know where I can find real arcade OST's? I have plenty of OST sound files (nsf,gym,psf etc..) for pretty much all of the systems and games that I like. But nothing quite sounds like the actual Arcade OST's. When I want to listen to those OST's, I have to open up an EMU, do the dip switch thing and listen to the music that way. I don't to much mind it, but you can't convert that to mp3 and listen to it while your on the go you know. So if anybodies got any info, let me know please.

If it's OST's that your looking for that haven't been remixed or made up with a midi device, this is the way to go. In zophars domani, they have plugins that you can install into wiamp that'll allow you to listen to the actual game music like it's coming from the system. There is also a plugin that lets you convert the soundfiles to mp3. I haven't tried it on nsf (NES) sound files yet because they play kind of funky. I don't mean that the sound quality is bad. It's just they don't work like the other sound files. They play like tracks within a group of tracks. So instead of it being individual music files, it's jut one big file with all the music on it.

Just remeber that when you click on the system with the music that you want to here, there should be some words highlited in blue above the big list of songs. The words will usually say (nsf players) or something to that effect. Be sure to click on that link first so you can get the plugins that you need to play that format.

The track I'm searching for is the Music from "The Landing" scene in FF8 that was changed because it sounded too much like the main theme of the movie The Rock. It's hard to find now! The music that it got changed to was ass in comparison.
Also, I need the menu music from the FF8 Demo. The Crystal Theme with a Hip-hop feel to it was top-tier. :tup:

Nah, it's just that Yuzo had *help* from another composer for SOR3 unlike 1 and 2 where it was just him. SOR3's Downtown stage theme is great though IMO. It's one of my ringtones.

Would the Silent Hill MIDIs be worth downloading? I hear some SH music from gamingfm and it sound really good. I think the game music I heard from was SH3.

I can't believe the only MIDI song to Mega Man Battle & Chase is the intro Over The Top. No Escape or anything else. A crying shame. Well maybe now that the game is available in America via the MMXC, more people will make MIDIs for the rest of the game's songs.

I still haven't even played the original yet, but I'm loving the Seven Force theme....I was hoping for the GBA version, but the Genesis Seven Force theme is tight as well....actually, it's better, considering there is more "stuff" going on musically....unless I'm not really paying as much attention while actually fighting Seven in the GBA version.

the dig : by michael land (monkey island 1-3), great sci-fi score.

The girl who sings the theme song for Kingdom Hearts is named Utada Hikaru. Her tracks are usually pretty hot! I put her new song for Kindom Hearts 2 on the DFP RADIO Show (www.digitalfrontierplus.com). I can't wait until she makes the English version of Passion. Because I actually like the English version of Simple and clean better than Hikari, (the Japanese version)

She is one of the few Japanese artists who can sing and sound good in both English and Japanese. But we always get into arguement about which tracks to play when it comes to her. English or Japanese..... If you like Videogame music you should really check out DFP Radio...

That track was mainly what I remember TMNT 2 for....I'd play the game just to get up to that stage and hear that music.

(Note: I had to PLAY the game to get the music. You have to hide from spotlights, however when you hide in the background, the beat cuts out. If a light gets you, you get shot at. I did my best to avoid hiding, so there are a few bullets, but just a few)
