So my first 360 died in may of last year, now my one from june has just died....

I think you can still turn it in to MS, especially if its your second one. If they have a record of when you traded in the other one, I think the new policy is that you can trade it in within a year of when you got the new one. You might as well call MS to see whatsup...

As far as using another pic as your gamertag, I read somewhere that you can set your own gamerpic but it will only show it to people on your buddy list, everyone else will see another pic. You can also make your own dashboard themes.... google it.

I dumped points into Gamma Stomp/whatever it's called, along with his speed/strength Hulk-up. RIDICULOUS damage, especially with Deadpool in the party running Battlecry. Hulk is ultimate crowd control + DPS to boot, I wouldn't call him Surfer-broken because he needs a well put-together team for max effectiveness, but he is EASILY the best tank in the game.

Venom is the best mob-killer in the series history.....dump EVERYTHING into Symbiote Flail as the points become available. Use the boost that increases his damage and have Deadpool running Battlecry at all times.....Venom owns EVERYthing in the game except bosses and those stupid mobs that you have to input combos to initially damage. I've only got him to 61 and he already destroys mobs faster than Deadpool, Moon Knight, Daredevil.

Cyclops is probably better off than he was in XML 2, even though a lot of his moves are gone. His regular Optic Trash combines his old beam, his wide angle mob beam and his charge beam all in one. He has an Optic Uni-beam as well, and a radial knockback for crowd control. Solid if you ask me.

Hawkeye's only problem is he's too slow. Even with speed boost he can't keep up with the better designed support characters.

Sabretooth was dismissed by most immediately since he's not Juggs, but he plays the way Wolvie should have in this game. Berserk Rage + Feral Claw(I think, the move where he does like his super in Marvel)tears down mobs and bosses equally well.

I actually managed 3 or 4 wins today in UC2....the last one was such bullshit luck...fraglimit was 15. This other guy that was the only real threat at the time was at 14. A group of people were fighting, and a missile came my way, so I rejected it perfectly...and scored a DOUBLE kill to instantly hit the fraglimit and win the match. Hilarious. I bet the other guy, who was actually the better player, immediately thought "oh COME ON. Bullshit."

Heavy Weapon---haven't played in a long time until today....going thru the missions again, but it's not looking like this will be a new top score. I was once #12 with my score, now I'm down to #159 or something! The new #1 on the leaderboards has 35 million something points. I have no idea how people are getting such scores. I wouldn't have thought there's even enough enemies in the game to get to the mid-30-mil mark. 20s, sure...but 30s?!

Marvel Ultimate Alliance just became top priority on my list of games to get. Playable Doom and Venom = must buy. I'd like to see a game like this that focuses on the villain side of things though right off the bat. It would be easy money for....whatever company made this game. It's an easy speinoff that would net guaranteed big sales....the Supervillian version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I would buy it immediately. Imagine playing as Doom, with a team of Mephisto, Mr. Sinister, Apocalypse, Bastion, Proteus, War-Hulk, The Super Skrull, Mandarin, etc. etc.

Yet this one has that goofy yet cool feel of course Bruce Campbell is hitting on yeah since his the narrator but man the city is huuuge and you got like 10 stories too go thru plus the movie plot. You can usually get another couple of weeks of perfect play from a 360 with this problem. Most of the 3 red light problems are to do with unstuck solder or glue. If you lay it horizontally, placing a heavy flat object on top of the 360 can do enough to acheive a short term fix. I got about 2+1/2 weeks from mine, trouble free. I used my old modded Xbox, place it on top, it boots up, take it off and it didnt.

Im in the same boat as you tho. Ive had 3 red lights on 3 different console. I was actually pretty annoyed with Microsoft, the last one they sent me was actually alot more trouble prone than any other Id had. I decided to get it chipped because I knew it would break eventually. Now Im without one, I couldnt trick MS into repairing it as they actually take photographs of every console before they send them out from the repair centre, Id taken the warranty sticker off when I had it flashed.

Im looking to get another tho, Im quite excited for Forza and Mass Effect, but apprehensive as hell about buying another Xbrick.

whoahhhh...the old PACMAN cartoon is available on the marketplace! I didn't even know it until just a few hours ago. They have the whole season up...and one of them is free, apparently. nah, not the whole Supercade...just Pacman. I mentioned that this brought back memories of the Supercade. That would be incredible if that could get that whole block of programming on there. I haven't even seen the other shows since way back then. Pacman was still available back in the 90s with the birth of Cartoon Network...they would show it sometimes in the afternoons....this was before the era of Toonami. Heh, it's strange to think that Cartoon Network is "old" now.

*I'm still curious to see if Halo 3 will still be such a huge deal. Everyone(but me at the moment.) is on Gears of War, and I'm sure Unreal Tournament 3 will have quite a huge audience...and I guess people still play Lost Planet? On default difficulty it took me 47 battles to beat the game *though it was Ryu - not my character*. Well, apparently Centipede and Millipede will be out this week on the Arcade...at least that's word of mouth from over at gamefaqs....I haven't bothered to actually research it myself...whatever. Centipede was ok, but Millipede was the real deal. I played that game nonstop on the atari back in the day. It was like a war against the entire insect kingdom. There should be a new game based around that concept....it appeals to me, as I was that kid that was always outside torturing/killing ants, beetles, worms, butterflies, etc. etc. I even wanted to be an entomologist one day, and had books on insects....there was a strong fascination there, as well as a sadistic pleasure in killing the shit out of them.

Crackdown over Dead Rising, imo. DR was kind of a letdown for me, at least from the demo...I had big expectations there. I still plan to get the full game once it's dirt cheap though. Crackdown is shallow, sure...but it's such fun to me.

Will, I like Crackdown. I wasn't a big fan of dead rising. It's cool at first, but it is one dimensional. The text is fucking TINY too (I have a normal tv) and that made the game difficult but that wasn't why it got boring. THe save system blows, and it's basically a big ass version of Ground Hog's day with zombies. It's definitely just a rental.

I'd say the same for crackdown. I own it, but I got it at a good price. It's a fun game, especially with two players, but there just isn't that much to do in the city.

Oh, and Jr7891...if it still works the same old way, that doesn't help for Malcolm. The other player you beat has to be..."local", I guess you could say...as in there on the same system, on controller#2.

heh, Malcolm happens to be one of the better characters in the game, as well. Iron Spirit and Homing is serious business. Homing would be game-breaking of course if the duration weren't so horribly short. I always preferred to use Iron Spirit and Sentinel.

heh, and I happen to be listening to the UC2 menu music right now...it's certainly a motivator.

Another glimpse into the strategic paradise one can find in this game:

-Wraith mode --- a "super form" for Necris characters(the vamps of the game). It counters and makes you immune to most things in the game, like Selket's Flash, Homing, Radar(supposedly...I think it's glitched and doesn't work online), and other things. A necris character in Wraith also can't be frozen or locked onto....which also means you can't see the Wraith's health. On top of all this...it gives the player improved vision by making the environment appear black/white/grey...while all other opponents appear bright red. So, this also negates the advantage another Necris character has when he puts on Ethereal, as the Wraith can see right thru it and see the real person. Wraith also lets you see players who picked up Invisibility. As if all this weren't enough, it also improves defense....you take 25% less damage from everything. You also cannot be poisoned. You take less damage from poisonous clouds...but once a Wraith is outside the cloud, he no longer takes damage like other normal characters will. Wraith also cannot be Primal Screamed or Feared away once it is active.(those abilities negate every other power in the game) And THEN it only takes one bar of adrenaline! Funny thing is....of all the things people bitched about being "cheap"....no one ever complained about Wraith form. This is truly one of the best defensive special abilities in the history of competitive games.

*oh, and you also look cool. Wraith necris characters get a metallic dark grey/black skin, with glowing red eyes.

I think it's pretty fucked up that you have to keep your console online to play shit you've downloaded to a previous console, especially considering that there are a lot of people on their second console. WTF MS. These people paid for their shit, their systems broke because you can't manufacture shit right, and now they have to be verified in order to play shit they already bought? How about you verify that the consoles won't break within three months?

drizzt is still #1 on my list, Koop is talking about the main leaderboard within the game, i normally check the scores from dashboard. It sucks cause it only shows the base game and not the advanced score. I find advanced easier than base though, lately its been the dog stage that is screwing me up.

While it's hardly a secret that the Xbox 360 will be getting a 65nm CPU upgrade sooner or later, China's Commercial Times (not always the most reliable source) is now reporting that the console's Xenos GPU will also be switching over to the cooler, lower-power chips, supposedly sometime this fall. According to the paper, an "engineering version" of the new and improved 65nm Xenos GPU has already been sent out, with production set to get underway in May, which would certainly seem to make a fall launch a possibility. Unfortunately, there's still no word on a possible disc drive upgrade to go along with these other revisions, which we all know is the real culprit for most of the console's noise problems.

Man I dont see your score since you're not on my friends list but I know I would destroy it even with my wife callin' me. Generaly I get between 800k and 1.5 mil each time I play. All but last night. Koop- I don't see your score either. Your box probably went offline for two seconds- enough to keep your score from making the leaderboard. So I still get to keep my silver medal for now.

drizzt is still #1 on my list, Koop is talking about the main leaderboard within the game, i normally check the scores from dashboard. It sucks cause it only shows the base game and not the advanced score. I find advanced easier than base though, lately its been the dog stage that is screwing me up.

Ironically I was looking at the cooling for th 360 *I don't have any kits yet*, and I'm trying to figure out how useful the fan is. If you could swap the drive out, I'd love to try and watercool the 360 - make that sum bitch silent.

If you want silent, don't get the intercooler. Jebus that thing is LOUD! 3 80MM fans going from a korean company.....yea you see my point

I'm proud of you dude. I reccomended swapping to a dude and he wouldn't listen. He shipped his shit to MS, and a week later his refurbished system broke.

NEways, those problems arent just for Elites, thats for any console that has had a harddrive swap. They've been talking about fixing that for ages, but haven't. Now that the problem is more widespread, maybe MS will do something about it.

DMC4, there's an interview over at IGN he says they expect 360 and PS3 versions to look and play identical. I'm holding Capcom to that if PS3 has better graphics or framerate I will drop the 600 on PS3 (yes I'm that big on DMC).

Yeah, theres no reason IMO they can't just put out a driver for the Virtua Stick High Grade to make it 360 compatible.

Right now there is a converter out, tested and working with HRAP2, Tekken HRAP and others. It's called XFPS. The catch ? It's 80 dollars. For that price you might as well just get the DOA4 Hori, if you can find it..

Dead or Alive 4 - 5/2/07 - I hit the 360 button to accept a chat invite and the 360 menu failed to load forcing me to reset my console since the menu wouldn't go away.

Critical freeze count - Freeze that causes a loss of game progress or status.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance - 5/2/07 - Just about to get the achievement for unlocking all costums and the game freezes at the save screen. Had to start over for about 8 characters.

I really stopped caring about Metal Gear a long time ago. I had to force myself through part 2, I bought part 3 and after the first hour or so of cinemas just said enough already. It's pretty sad when you start skipping through story sections you haven't even seen yet.

Part 1 will always be one of my favorite games of all time though.

Mine doesnt freeze. It does some weird crap when I try to play a game though. It changes screens and says "To play this game please put it into an Xbox360" or something like that. Its wacked. Its taken me like 20 minutes at times to get a game to play. No my games arent scratched and they are very clean so is my 360.

I think it was overheating... I unplugged everything and let it sit for awhile, just turned it back on with no probs.

Haven't played any real console games since PS1 days, haven't really had the time. Been playing fighters exclusively since they aren't as time consuming. Long story short I'm graduating college, gonna have free time and gettin paid.

Don't really know what kind of games are out though, what are the must haves for the 360? My man reason for going with the 360 is Forza 2 which I'm really excited about, but my better judgement won't let me get a whole console just for one game. Any other games for the 360 that'll justify the purchase? I'm definitely gonna get that ST Remix, but that's just a download.

Anyone have some good recommendations? I know Halo and Gears of War are big draws, but I'm actually not a big fan of FPS.

I rented Spider Man 3... and it is frustrating. Some of its cool, but you CAN'T BLOCK. I don't remember if it was like this in the 2nd game, but you can only dodge, and its really annoying. There is one part early on in the game that I can't get past because I get my butt kicked. Also, I think I'm playing God of War sometimes and try to evade... so maybe its just me.

Oh, shit, Colin Mcrae DIRT is looking to be fucking amazing. It might even surpass the almighty RalliSport 2. This game has me all excited. Finally, a rally game on the 360 and it looks like it's going to fucking rock. Point-to-point races, hillclimb, crossover, rallicross, it's all in there. Gears plays like Resident Evil 4 fused with Killswitch, but better controlling than either of those. It's a 3rd person shooter and theres a huge difference.

Been playing Catan, not to bad of a game. Beat TMNT to, so glad I didnt buy that game. It is an easy 1000 points, you can literally get everything in about 5 hours.
