I would believe it, we got 10 in and they were gone within a day. We still have our Maddens.


Not surprised about that. At the Best Buy my brother works at they sold out of all of Dead Rising the 1st day and the Gamestop I picked up my pre-order at, had people coming in left and right asking for the game. As for Madden it also did well, I think the only reason why there wasn't a massive sell out was because EA shipped a crap load of Madden. But considering that the sales numbers were 2nd only to the PS2 shows that a lot of people bought Madden up and 360 systems just for those 2 games alone.

Even Saint Row sold out when came out on Tuesday along with more systems. So it looks like the 360 is beginning to hit its stride now and with a year head start, it now has the systems available to sell when hot, must-own games begin coming out this Fall and Holiday Season.

Too bad not a lot of hype surrounding the 360's first Japanese-style RPG, Enchanted Arms. Its no Final Fantasy but its gotten pretty good reviews. IGN it gave it a 7.6. They said its the typically turn-based Japanese RPG that really doesn't bring anything new to the table, but good for a 1 time play through. They gave it a low 6.5 for Sound because of the crappy English voice acting, but it can be set to Japanese so I don't know why a low score. They did like the visuals, easy navigation/menu system, and the ability to save anytime. The online play they said was a good idea just not really executed well, its workable but with more effort it could have been a great online experience. What it is, is in the game you collect Golems that do your fighting for you so I the ones you get in the game you can setup and bring them to fight other people's Golem team to see who is the best, ala Pokemon. Reason is the best/hard to find one's must be found and captured. Sound interesting and thinking of renting it from Gamefly to try it out.

Then add the extremely well Xbox Live network and Xbox 360 is really showing its strength. Hopefully with the success of SF:HF more support will come from Capcom, SNK, Konami, Midway, and other companies. Also with the Xbox Vision camera coming on Sept 19 Texas Hold'em should be a lot more fun, since its all about the reading your opponents face to see if he/she is bluffing.

I bought it, and honestly, I dont like it at all. EA is stressing graphics WAY too much in the game. I'm trying to play and all of a sudden its a cut scene with the defense...then the announcer is horrible (I WISH madden was back, thats how bad it is) and all and all, its....just not fun...

Wait until you get to the collision detection problems. Like when your guy gets tackled when no one is around and you see footballs going through peoples chest.

Not to mention defense for the pass is non existent even on All Madden. Madden still hasnt fixed the fact that the idea of playing D is to have your guys drop alot of passes.

I knew Madden games would be even shittier then normal when they got the liscense and so far so good.

Soul Reaver is the name of the actual sword. You get to use Soul Reaver, you get to use Excaliubur after you beat the game.

Who knows? That title's been floating around for years now and I don't think anyone knows what it's about it
Code Cronus was announced way way back in like 2003 as a title in the DOA universe that was going to be neither a fighting game nor a sports (volleyball) game. Lotsa people thought it was going to be a Ninja Gaiden-esque, but with a DOA-based storyline and probably would end up having Ayane, Kasumi, Hayabusa and Hayate all usable. Thing is, though, Team Ninja only works on one game at a time. And with DOAX2 on their plate right now, and Ninja Gaiden 2 announced (and also said to definitively take place in the DOA universe), it kinda seems like Code Cronus has kinda faded off into oblivion.


That was Raidou, the last boss of the first DoA. I think Kasumi took him outYep. The intro movie to DOA2U shows the events that immediately preclude DOA1, where Raidou shows up at the Mugen Tenshin village, and beats down Ayane and Hayate. (During the actual events of DOA1, DOATEC attacks the Mugen Tenshin again and kidnaps Hayate) Tengu in DOA2 is kinda...weird. He is kinda an over-the-top monster in the relatively realistic DOA universe. He blocks out the sun (that's why in both Ninja Gaiden and the DOAs, none of the levels that take place in cities have any sunshine) and Hayabusa wins the DOA tourney and kills him good (during the tourney, DOATEC attacks the Mugen Tenshin again and takes Genra, the guy in the mask from the 2U intro). DOA3 has Genra, who got made into a bioweapon, as the boss.


Playing DoA3 wouldn't have helped with that, they never said who she was...she just showed up randomlyYeah. There doesn't seem to be any explanation as to who she is.

Yeah, the vast majority of Xbox games are yet to be made backwards compatible. Most of the bigger ones are there. Unfortunately they still lack every fighting game worth playing.

oh it is SO on. I finally went out and got my 360 today, with Saint's Row...I like SR, but I'm already thinking I could've waited on it and got N3 instead...since n3 is cheaper. The first character I made was Michael Jackson. The face is dead on(current creepy MJ version of course), but I wish I had more options from the beginning...the best you can do in terms of MJ hair is the "shag" option. I might re-create him with the ponytail though. Also, it would be nice if I could customize the clothes right from the start. Whatever, I'm going to try to make Ronald McDonald later on.

Geometry Wars is already one of the greatest games ever, imo. I couldn't resist...I have already purchased the full version.

I'll check the demo later tonight...but I'm 99% sure I'll like it. Due to my boycott of ps2, I've actually never played Dynasty Warriors...so this type of game would be fresh to me. Well, I'll know for the demo...There's so much to get caught up on though...there's the Lost Planet demo, Just Cause, I plan to get Dead Rising later on...and hopefully Crackdown will be out soon...

my gt is still "PERFECT HATRED"... I probably won't be online with SR for awhile though...the single-player experience is more compelling to me so far...I'm just having fun beating up and killing random people so far. You can even beat up old people that are on a walker. It's so terrible, it's hilarious. I set myself on fire one time, and ran into people to get them on fire too...heh, it's fun. N3 is horrible. It's pretty mindless just mash a button all day then all of a sudden you beat it. I think it's $34.99 this week at Circuit City tho, but I think it will be dropping in price soon.

If you want Dynasty Warriors 5 it's $20 at CompUSA

Some good (cheap) games are: Call of Duty 2 (Game of the Year Edition with extra maps is $34.99, most popular game on xbox live), Hitman Blood Money (short, but good game - might be better to pick it up on other systems cheaper), Tomb Raider Legends (same as Hitman)

and of course Dead RIsing is nice

Yeah I'd stay away from N3 if I were you. People warned me the same way, but I played the demo alot and thought I would like it anyways since I love hack & slash......I was very wrong. It's really, really generic. The story isn't good at all, most of the boss fights are so horrible it's ridiculous, and there is so much boring hack & slash and nothing but, that you get tired of the game by like the fourth level.

The AI is some of the worst you've ever seen. You could run into battle and take out 500 enemies by yourself, only to find 20 of your troops still struggling to kill a single one. After that you can literally stand there and watch them try and kill that one enemy for 10-15 minutes and they still cant. Then you walk up to him and take him out in a single combo. That is how bad the AI sucks.

The visuals are kind of nice I guess, but nothing that will make up for the rest of the crap. I couldn't even force myself to finish the game. I bought it Friday and traded it today. That's how bad this game is.

I've gotten pretty bored with my 360 overall though. It's been out for a year and the only game I really like is Dead Rising. Plus the only game on the horizon that interests me is GOW. I dont think enough of my type of games are going to hit the system. I was kind of looking forward to Enchanted Arms & N3, but EA is really generic all around and N3 is just terrible. I'll probably trade in my 360 when they start taking PS3 pre-orders.

I think N3 is a great game. The graphics are crazy good and watching a whole army of goblins running down a mountain towards you is a great feeling. I will agree though that the AI is dumb and gameplay is very simple. But if you like games like Dynasty Warriors this game's for you.

My only complaints so far is that the camera acts a little retarded when you're in a vehicle....what's the point of the view switching wildly around (automatically) when you make any change in direction? That's stupid...all it does is disorient the player, making the control unnecessarily difficult in that particular situation. Also, the controls in any vehicle feel a bit too "loose"...like it's really too easy to lose control. Anyway, JC is easily a day-1 purchase for me.

heh, I hit 594,000 in Geo Wars today. There's no way my friends are catching me on this game now. That was quite an improvement...I hit 416,000...then just in the next few tries I'm almost at 600,000.

*if I save my profile to a memory card...does it also save my downloaded Live Arcade games/stuff? I ask because I know these 360s tend to "die" like the old playstation....it almost seems inevitable, sadly. I'm curious if I'd have to download(and thus, pay for AGAIN) these Live Arcade games if my 360 dies and needs replacing.

Mutant Storm is so easy in comparison. I didn't die until room 22 on my first time playing...and room 25 was the first one with some challenge(I lost all my lives there) I had well over a million there. I had to download this, as I can't resist these Asteroids-ish games. eh, Geo seems more action packed though...which is surprising, as Mutant Storm has more "stuff" going on, with the various powerups, and more varied enemy types. Both games have become my favorite shooters of all time though. I'm normally listening to "Chateau", "Burly Brawl", or "Mona Lisa Overdrive" off the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack....it goes perfectly with Geo Wars. Naruto "Ultimate Secrets" is good for GW too(that is the track that played when Rock opened the Life Gates in his fight with Gaara)....oh, and the Orochimaru fight theme too...

The gamer profile pics...it's annoying and stupid that a lot of them are a mystery until you download. I'd rather not be surprised by crappy pictures....and most of them suck anyway. The bloody Servbot mask is the only one I liked. Anyway, why conceal the pictures? When has the "mystery grab bag" type of purchase ever been a good thing? It's lame in terms of comics, and it's lame with regard to these stupid little pictures.

I haven't really gone out of my way to buy them...this was because I had a small number of points left over after buying Geo Wars and Mutant Storm(made it to room 50 or 60 something today...2.3 mil)....not enough points to get a game...so I browsed the profile pics that were available.

*and once again...the backwards compatible issue is so far the only chink in the armour here....if only MS didn't screw that up, Ps3 would've been in trouble for real. A fully backwards compatible 360, plus the awesome games that are coming out now + the headstart, + sony's various booboos(pricing, unwanted bluray spiking the price, drm nonsense, etc.)= Sony in a "flank 2" position, as the almighty Bauer would say.

been playing saints row online with a couple of co-workers....seems decent, even though I would like GTA to have a FULLY ONLINE CITY; there that or a MASSIVE co-op aspect of the game, where your up against impossible odds depending on how many people are playing (12+ you have to go against 3 armies and you have to get out of the city with 8+ of your people....seems like fun)

So I finally played Hexic. This is a strange case...the game is boring as hell, yet somehow compelling...it's like the experience is contradictory(or whatever) to itself. I was playing on and on last night...thinking "eh, I should quit after awhile...this seemingly goes on forever", but I kept playing. I don't even typically like puzzle games, unless there's a competitive aspect(i.e. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine)

I still haven't come back to playing Saint's Row yet. Mutant Storm and Geo Wars are a lot of fun for me. I'll definitely get back into it tonight though...I need some new clothing options for my Psycho Ronald McDonald. Then...perhaps I could make Jesse Jackson later...Yakub the Mad Black Scientist(seriously, google that...yeah, there's some wacky things in the "black version" of muslim history), 80s Michael Jackson, Pee Wee Herman, etc. etc. The possibilities are great. This is why games with create-a-character are usually the best ever, imo.

the 360 HD is only 12 gigs after everything that comes installed on it and the average 360 game is 7 gigs

there's mods out there tho, just need a pioneer 111d and verbatim dual layer dvd's and to flash your 360 drive

yeah it's real easy:wgrin: flashing your drive requires a mobo with sata connection, though. the pio111d and verbatim combo is best for hitachis, as samsung drives can read pretty much anything i've read. still, nothing better than buying the real game.

Wow, a lot of activity in the Xbox 360 thread. Good to see the 360 is getting some love at SRK. Just a heads up a demo of EA's NHL 2007 is out today. The demo is just consist of a one on one shootout. Played a little bit it and seems pretty cool different since it doesn't use the face buttons at all. You have the left analog stick to move the player and the right to do the shooting, deke, and slap shots. The more I played the more natural it feels could be just me but I like this dual stick control.

Also Test Drive Unlimited has come out and for a bargain price of $39.99 haven't read any reviews but did try the demo out on Live. Its cool and the thought that its car racing game infused with MMORPG is great concept. The idea that the cars you pass by are actually other people playing and you can challenge them right there. The pick the finish line on the map and there both of you go to see who can get there first. Its in my want list on Gamefly but need to right one game to get have it sent out, may do that next week or so.

I finally decided to switch up to a crowbard instead of the knife...just to see how it was...and it is good. It's even easier to kill people with the crowbar, as it usually knocks them down if you get them from behind.

I wish I had some of these adventures on tape...I killed two guys in hotdog suits today. Hotdog suits! There's GOT to be a way to get your character wearing one of those. I killed a guy that was dressed up like a soft drink too. Anyway, the 2nd store was much cheaper, where I bought the jacket for about 100 bucks or so. I killed the cashier before I left...then I saw a safe...but cracking a safe is damn near impossible for some reason. What's especially retarded is that you can't stop and run away. Once I started, the cops were on their way, but I couldn't just break away from the safe and run or defend myself.....so my character's just stuck trying to open the safe, while cops shoot him to death. What the hell were the devs thinking when they came up with that one? It makes no sense that I can't decide to run once I've started trying to open a safe.

Anyway, yeah...check my awesome Psycho McDonald in the link. I had a perfect car for him recently...some old style convertible that was all red, reminded me of "Christine" from that Stephen King movie/book...sadly, I ended up doing too much damage to it...and I didn't feel like finding the place that does repairs and all that....besides, I could just steal it again later on.

You can leave safe crackings by pressing down on the dpad twice, and there is no hot dog suit you can wear that I know of.

When cracking the safe, try to use smooth motions and when you have to hit the button, let go of the stick and hit it fast. Make sure a car is in the alley for you to drive the goods away insetad of walking them to the pawn shop.

For the hitman thing, the first one is easy. The woman is an ambulance driver. Kill her with a vice 9. She will come to you if you call her.

And the fat guy with the red and yellow shirt hangs out near the movie theather ion the arena district.

Try to be out at night for gangster/pimp/whore looking characters and daytime for buisnessmen/workers.

If you want those clothes for the online mode, and don't feel like playing a lot of ranked games for 10 to 45 bucks a piece, add me and I can give you the clothes.

heh, thanks. Funny thing there I just remembered; I only saw the guy in the soft drink costume right after I took a swig from a 40 oz. Vision was blurred, and then *bam*...there's a soft drink with arms and legs crossing the street. Perfect timing. There is so much comedic potential in this game, it's amazing.

Saints row: For "Hitman" activities, when you bring somebody up from the list onto the HUD (when they're in the corner), if they're near you, you'll see "crosshairs" on the minimap on that person's position. Its a little annoying, but I've finished one of the hitman activities. You just have to go to the area and drive around with one of your targets activated. Once you see the crosshairs on your minimap, find em and kill em.

Well, I tried searching the Downtown area for 2 targets just a few hours ago, with one up on the HUD. The one I had on HUD had on an orange shirt and dark blue jeans....I killed at least 5 or 6 people with that description that showed up as a crosshair/target on my radar....not a single one registered as THE guy I was supposed to kill. On the first one, I was excited that I finally found someone...then I killed him, and there was nothing. No "You killed ___!" or congratulations, or any kind of message to signal that I got a correct target.

...I never even saw the other dude....and I was driving around for at least 45 minutes to an hour there...I can't even remember...hours pass like minutes when I play this game. Anyway, I;ve also done the super-easy Hostage activities 2 or 3 times. More random stuff from today:

-So I stole a police car, was speeding around, and then *bam*...I realize all too late that a cliff I just went over goes down to the ocean! In mid-air, I bailed, and saved the game immediately(I thought I was SO dead). Psycho Ronald actually survived the fall...rolling down the side, down to the shoreline below. The car sailed right into the water, of course.

-Big payday--I finally got one of those Titans. I smashed it into various cars, since I had no truly destructive weapons at the time. (I already heard that these vehicles hold serious cash) I ended up getting the damn thing stuck between some steps and a little wall, above a sidewalk. I was thinking it was hopeless, since vehicles usually disappear if you go too far away. Fortunately, the position it was in was apparently adding constant damage. It finally caught on fire, and exploded. Cash went flying all over the place! I got at least 7,000+ from this.

This was taking during a nice battle with the authorities....I blew up several police cars. The shotgun is too nice...one shot is enough to put anyone down permanently.

*ah, no...that pic was taken after I blew up the Titan. That was quite a payday...I should find another one of those things...you could buy anything you want in the game if you just keep destroying those Titan trucks.

The explosions in this game are absolutely gorgeous, btw. It was so satisfying during my shootout with the cops...I'd blow up a car, they run away on fire, or get knocked back from the force, flaming wreckage rains down from the sky....it's beautiful.

edit---dammit I just realized...perhaps it was because I was supposed to kill that guy with the handgun!? DAMMIT! So I missed out on a hit....multiple times because I didn't kill the sumbitch with the "correct" weapon. Bullshyte.

edit for the millionth time: Oh yeah, and there's no way in hell my friends are catching me now on Geo Wars. Today's score: 1,234,000something. Yes, I have already gone over the 1mil mark. Funny thing...right after I passed my previous high score of 738,xxx...it was easy for awhile.

The Last Rollers mission is a bitch, first the semi you have to blow up halls ass, second every single car swerves in your way. Third every goon they have comes at you and you randomly get blown up, fourth it takes for fucking ever to blow up the semi. Oh and if you lose the semi once you are pretty much screwed. Took me an hour to kill him, the snatch missions from about lvl 6-8 are a bitch to.

once i got 1.8 million when i got hit by an ambulance, knocked down a street light and fell over a cliff i was falling forever and it just said +LOTS and all these multipliers came up on the screen

I blew up another Titan truck...so now I have about 15,000something cash to play with.

-much like that game Flatout, there's funny instances of people being ejected from a vehicle. It happens quite often if you hit them head on going full speed in a decently heavy vehicle....sometimes it backfires of course, and you're the one that's sent flying. One good one was this guy in a dark brown suit...he flipped out of the car, my passenger side door popped open, and he landed right on the hinge! So, I suddenly have a dead body hangin' in that corner area between the car and the door. His cash conveniently landed on the floor of the car. This is yet another magical moment I wish I had on tape.

of course, now that I realize that I was supposed to kill the guy(the one I killed at least 4 times earlier) with a knife...I can't find him at all. Of course. Then there's all these targets...multiple Hitman activities....how could anyone possibly have the patience for this?

The last two cars you have to find for the Chinatown chop shop, good fucking luck. The Zenith you get for beating all the Roller missions doesnt count as you cant customize it. You can buy both of them at Foreign Motors but that shit is expensive.

Hitman Activity hasn't been that bad so far. Heh, I feel so stupid for thinking the weapons pictured with the targets were weapons they had on them....so now that I've been on the hunt with the correct weapons for each job, I've actually made 3 hits already. A few hours ago, I got that black guy in the red shirt from the suburbs...this was with my new creation, Agent Smith. Psycho Ronald McDonald found 2 of his targets as well...."Dick"(heh), and that black guy in the nice suit Downtown....black dude in the suit was a bit of a challenge, as he was in an SUV limo when I found him...so I had to chase him around for awhile.

Acheivement unlocked: I made over $200,000 in Insurance fraud today. It's funny when the tally goes so high the game just says "A LOT." A police car seems to produce the best results so far...because you get a bonus for the accident involving a civic vehicle.

Other character ideas I will work on in the near future: Fat Albert, Jack Bauer (again..I wasn't satisfied with my earlier attempt), Flavor Flav, Brian Peppers, Ron Bergundy, etc. etc. I love character creation/customization. It would be a standard feature in every game if I had my way.

oh...I should try a Mean Gene Okerlund...I forgot to make Fat Albert today...I was too busy playing as Agent Smith. I made all the hits on the Projects Hitman mission...now I've started on Chinatown...I've made 2 or 3 hits off that list already. I also scored well over a million in damages on Insurance Fraud today. Going full speed in a cop car, I was ejected during a headon collision, bounced on another car, and THEN I got dragged by a delivery truck! It was surprising I didn't die in this situation. It sucks that there's no Acheivemnt associated with that, apparently....there's only the acheivement for getting over 200k in one accident.

The RPG(rocket launcher) in this game is awesome. It always comes in handy against authorities.

*whoah Castle Crashers looks too tight. That is a day-1 purchase for me, easily.
Achievement unlocked: I got the "Survived 500,000" bonus in Geo Wars today...I didn't surpass my high score though...but it was close. I was already at a million with 4 ships left, but I couldn't make it to a new high score this time.

Fucking awesome. Made by the same guys who did Alien Hominid, which is also coming out on XBLA.

I have a soft spot for these old-school type games. This game looks much like Guardian Heroes, and that's never a bad thing. Also, the version of Alien Hominid coming out is not the same as the PS2/GC version, I believe it's a port of the original PC game. Either way, I'll be getting both for sure.

Between those 2 games, Lumines Live, Symphony of the Night and UMK3, there are some pretty cool games coming out for download. I must say that I'm finding myself wanting to download more games than I expected.

Sadly though, the only real game I'm excited about is Gears of War. Not much else excites me, although I am interested in Phantasy Star Universe, but I've never played an MMORPG before, and I'm not sure if I'll be lost since I never played PSO.

Damn, Xbox Live Arcade is definitely top tier. I definitely want Castle Crashers and Small Arms. Add to the mix Lumines and you got yourself 3 reasons why Live Arcade is one of the reason to own a Xbox 360. That doesn't even include others like online UMK3 and Fatal Fury(think it was this not sure, but I know there is SNK fighting game coming out) Hopefully with the success of these game more developers start making original games and more support from Capcom and SNK.

On another note 3 games will be released this week NHL2K7, NHL 2007, and Lego Star Wars 2. The demos of NHL2K7 and 2007 were released around the last part of last week. Played both and see that EA has some potential to be a great hockey game. Even though the demo was only 1 on 1 shootout, it allows you to see how they changed the controls with just the two analog sticks, which I liked. NHL2K7 had a 1 quarter preview and it seem just the same as last years. We will see when the reviews come out for them later this week.

As for Lego Star Wars 2, the review on IGN was pretty good. Said the game was fun for all ages and improved on the original. Should be a must for Star Wars fans, myself included. Thought the 1st one was pretty good especially playing with a buddy.

Not much else excites me, although I am interested in Phantasy Star Universe, but I've never played an MMORPG before, and I'm not sure if I'll be lost since I never played PSO.

I haven't played PSO either even though I had a Dreamcast I didn't have a chance to jump on board too busy playing the fighting games :) May try it this time around since its a new game and from rumors around the net this may not require a monthly fee like the PS2 and PC versions. So if that ends up true we should get some SRK clan going here.

I simply refuse to pay for an online experience TWICE for one game. I wouldn't care if all they charged was a damn quarter per month...it's the principal of the matter that pisses me off...and it's exactly why I never bought the Xbox version of PSO. I had the GC version. I will pay Sega's fee...OR I will pay the Live fee....not both. They need to get the hell out of here with that garbage.

and yep, you guys missed out on a lot with PSO, despite the rampant cheating and glitches. I still rank it as one of my favorite games of all time...and never before have I been so addicted to a game. Just one of my characters had well over 400 hours logged. I had 12 characters...14 if you count the Dreamcast era.

I still rank it as one of my favorite games of all time...and never before have I been so addicted to a game. Just one of my characters had well over 400 hours logged. I had 12 characters...14 if you count the Dreamcast era.

pso was a great game, didnt even mind the fact that its not a true mmorpg, but it was hilarious that pretending to be female would get you the platinum items of pso EASILLY, only did it once, and at the end of playing the game all together so i didnt get to use the itmes and weapons much, but yeah im sure you can do this with any mmorpg, try it :rofl:

Personally, I had no shame in attempts to get rare weapons/items in pso, but I didn't go there with the female characters... I just shamelessly begged for any kind of duped rares I could wanted. I went to games where people had rare stuff just laid out all over Pioneer 2. I thought it was funny how a certain piece of the PSO fanbase held themselves to this standard of "honor" in the game...like they wouldn't take items that they suspected were dupes...haha nigga please x16. I drifted over to the (mild) dark side of PSO once I realized I'd never have any luck finding the rare good stuff on my own. Sheeit...I never even saw rare monsters. I fought a Hildetorr probably 3 or 4 times in my entire time spent playing the game. (ridiculous, considering how many times I did Ultimate-level Forrest of Sorrow runs on a regular basis to level up characters quickly) In fact, my main purpose of even playing online was to just get the good stuff for my offline-only characters, and dupe the hell out of it

I'm craving something new on Live marketplace. I don't care about realistic sports games, so the recent NHL demo doesn't really count for me. They need to hurry up with the Castle Crashers. I tried Astropop last night. The art style on the characters was nice, but that game was so boring it hurts. I deleted it immediately.

There is something so awesome about playing as my Smooth Criminal Edition Michael Jackson in Saint's Row...while Smooth Criminal actually plays in the background off the HD...and right after that it goes into PYT. I need to put Thriller on right after that to make it even better.

*in a sharp contrast to my terrible luck in PSO...my luck factor on the Hitman missions in Saint's Row is amazing. There's been times where I get 3 kills off a list just minutes away from each other....sometimes I don't even have them up on the HUD, and I just see the person in a crowd, going by memory. There's times when I see the same person show up as a target twice on my radar! I killed one guy yesterday, then saw another instance of him at least 4 more times while I left the area.

-I have the Titan in my garage, so I've got easy money coming in any time I feel like it. It's such a simple exploit...just blow up Titan, gather the 7000 and change that falls out of the wreckage...go back to your garage and pay 500 to repair Titan....blow it up again, get 7000, pay 500 to get it back, etc. Agent Smith now has about 45,000 on him.

-I have one target left on Hitman...Tina, of course. Why is this bitch so hard to find? Everyone complains about this particular target...it's like they made her much more of a rarity than everyone else on the lists. I've spent 3 days now looking for this broad...and yeah, I'm looking in areas besides the Barrio, or whever it is that's shown as her location.(some people have found her in other areas like the Suburbs)

-Another great battle with cops, FBI and SWAT....this was started purposely so I could find and kill John, who is on the SWAT team. I also got another FBI truck, so that's 2 in my garage now.

-platinum shotgun is powerful...I took out a helicopter with that sumbitch today! It takes about 8 shots from it to destroy a Titan.

-Sniper rifle is fun. There's just so much to this game...and I haven't even come close to experiencing everything yet. I've played for a total of 27 hours, and I'm only 15% thru the main story. ha, I don't even CARE about the main story.

I mostly just play FFXI on my 360. I rented saints row and it was fun. I got bored with it pretty fast just like I did the gta games. Those kind of games lose thier appeal very fast with me. Its always fun at first running around doing the missions and stuff then I just end up running around shooting stuff.

I'll probably only want to beat Saint's Row once, since I hear you can't continue free-roam play once you've beat the last mission. The story isn't even close to being the main appeal of this game for me. Actually, when has the story EVER been the main appeal of the "GTA genre"? I didn't care in GTA1, and I certainly don't care in Saint's Row. The freeform style of play is the main attraction for me...and in SR, it's even better since I can create nearly anyone to be the star of the show. I get far enough in these types of games to just get some good weaponry/attributes/whatever...and I usually stick to my own thing. Yeah, the mass murder/destruction rampaging never gets stale, imo. Yesterday was my first time knocking the train off the monorail. It's funny to watch the chaos as the train cars fall to the street. It's really too bad your character can't take any kind of fall....outside of Insurance Fraud...it seems like you die if you even fall from 10 feet in this game...ridiculous.

My next character will most likely be the T-800. The game's customization features are perfect for creating The Terminator...I've already seen someone post an amazing example of this.

as far as upcoming games are concerned, gears of war kind of reeks of Halo 2 syndrome. Yeah it might be a great game, but it'll have a kind of plarizing effect. yes, halo 2 had halo1 as a referent, but we do have the gaming publications and sites from which to draw preliminary opinions. besides that, it looks like forza 2 might be delayed, like part 1 was, but at least it'll be quality, almost guaranteed. there's also double agent, ultimate alliance and FIFA 07, which each rank maybe 2 notches above meh. but then the wii and ps3 hit, so I might be distracted.

I just ripped some of my favorite tracks directly to the HD....it seemed easier, imo...since a lot of my music is on CDs as well as an ipod/itunes library. Self-made CDs work just fine, btw. My next thing to load on there is Terminator music, as I do plan to make the T800 in Saint's Row today.

What happened to Dark Sector? The footage of this game about a year or two ago was incredible....it was supposedly going to be one either 360 or ps3. It was shown well before E3 I think...and I've never seen anything about it again.

Saint's Row achievement unlocked---CONTRACT KILLER! I finally got that little cunt Tina. As others have said, she wasn't where the game says...I found her skating around the apartments area. Frustrating thing....first time I saw her, I was excited since this took so long...I immediately got out and gunned her down...with the damn platinum shotgun! So, the kill didn't count. Once again, luck was surprisingly on my side, and she was found again within the next day in the game's time. So, gold GDC and Platinum RPG are mine now.

That;s pretty much the reason Ultima online was so good for the first 3 years it was out. You basically could do whatever you wanted. Sure there was penalties for being a murder...but you could still do that if that was your choice. To me...the first 3 years of UO before EA fucked it up is the perfect game.

I also customized some cars for the first time...T800 has this awesome corvette/muscle car looking ride...with nitrous of course. Hilarious video for about 2 minutes.... This game has so much potential for cool glitches. One that happened to me was three cops walking in a row doing the exact same thing, except a split second after each one another.... tying their shoes, turning. Not sure if this is a glitch, but so far, i have killed 8 of the hitman targets through stray fire while killing cops and gang members. Also.....except for a few.....each next target was almost always walking right past after I killed the last one.

If I am waiting for a store to open in a few hours, I will sit outside and play basketball with grenades and corspes...trying to get them over walls or into containers.

I like doing Air combos with the AS12 riot gun..... I ussually bend down slightly and then stand up after they are air born to get more lift. The most so far I have gotten is 6 but that was luck.... its pretty hard to get 4 without the person touched the ground first.

In general, in a fire fight, I wont actually look at/center/aim any ofthe targets excpet for the instant the shot is made. I like to swing the cross hairs all the way through... not stop when I fire the weapon unless it is to swing back around. This is the most difficult/fun way to kill somebody because when the horizontal sensitivity all the way up, and you are moving away from your shot at the same time, AND the target is moving, far away or behind and object partially, then you have the absolute least chance of hitting them.

I practice this because the game by itself can get to easy, and boring just aiming and strafing traditionally, plus it is useful skill in general to be as quick and accurate as the game engine will allow. I practice this with the 44 mainly. Probably the most fun thing to do right now in this game because it can be so challenging with multiple targets and a short clip.

Apparently, extra content is out at some Gamestop/EB kiosks..according the the Saint's Row forums...but it's not on Live yet.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before....I could just take my character that is furthest in the game(Agent Smith), and re-create my other characters with the plastic surgeon, and save a different file. Heh, my other characters were at different spots in the game. So, now Psycho Ronald has everything Smith had, including the pimp coat. Well, I saw one vid where a party of 4 fight some enemies (I can't remember which ones). It just looks rather standard, and this is coming from someone who loved Dragon Quest VIII. Its not the art style, it just looks so slow paced. That was just one fight though, so I could be wrong. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

EDIT: I just watched a little more of the video (I didn't watch the whole thing the first time), and it looks a little better, but there's just something not there for me.

Yeah, imo. I have Live, and I still have not actually played the game online. I don't even have much of an interest in that component of the game. It's basically a next-gen GTA with certain key differences, the most critical of which are the character creation. This is legendary material for me, as I previously considered GTA series to be the greatest games of all time....Saint's Row is basically a GTA + character creation, and that happens to be my #1 option of all time. I'm actually close to considering SR to be a strong contender for greatest game ever. I'll admit though, that my hesitation in granting it that status is due to the fact that it is basically "a better GTA". I'm not sure if I should grant a game that is unoriginal that kind of status, even if it is just my own personal designation/list.

Anyway, the magic formula is there, imo:
-a reasonably interesting story with each of the rival gangs
-numerous sidemissions aka "activities"
-your own created character
-the greatness that is custom soundtracks, like any other 360 game. (for example, my battle with the authorities as "The Terminator", with the movie soundtrack in the background....TOO much fun there)
-next gen graphics. Sure it's not much compared to other next-gen games, but it is still a step above ps2/xbox/gc/dc and thus...still "next gen". We're well beyond the days of "ugly" games anyway...anyone who complains about graphics these days are just being silly, and looking for something to bitch about for the hell of it.(or to prove a fanboyish point)
-ragdoll physics. Always hilarious.
-customization on cars too. My Psycho Ronald has several pimped out "McDonald Mobiles" now....candypaint, nos, hydraulics, rims, tinted windows, irridescent colors, etc.

Well it looks like MS has decided to repair any faulty 360's for free as long as they were manufactured before Jan 2006. This is good news for me becuase my 360 has been giving me red lights and I didn't want to have to pay the repair fee. I even read that they're refunding those who payed for repairs on Xbox's before Jan 2006.

Anyone can get a month of xbox live gold now for free anyway. Just make a silver account over at xbox.com, and use the "recover gamer tag" option in the 360 dash, and input your created passport email and password, and choose silver subscrption option, the voila, you get the option to get 1 month live trial w/o any additional info needed.

Anyway, games I would get if I were you would be Kameo(cheap!), PGR3, DOA4, 2K6 if you like basketball, and whatever else out there of interest. Seriously, just get what is interesting to you, as there are a bunch of solid games. A lot more good stuff coming year's end, too.

-it's still highly annoying that no one who has acquired the new Saint's Row content from Gamestop will even talk about WHAT the fuck is on the dlc. Nobody ever goes into detail about this. It's like a conspiracy. I will eventually buy a memory card, but not specifically for this game.

-Time Pilot is so much easier than I remember from the 80s. In just my first 15 minutes or so of playing the full version, I already had 9 of the 12 acheivements, and beat 2001. It's still fun, but I was kinda disappointed that there is nothing new after 2001....you just go back to 1910 again.

-SR--I beat the Vice Kings completely last night. The last mission there was so much easier than the final Los Carnales mission. In fact, the final VK mission wasn't much different from your typical "Stronghold" mission. You just run in and kill everybody. You also find out here that the commercial actually spoils this part of the game. (*on the commercial, they already show exactly how*******SPOILER, I guess...***********

NeoSeeker forum member posted up what looks to be predictions for Microsoft's X06 conference coming later this week to Barcelona, Spain.

* Tommorow is the X06 conference in Barcelona. Some info has been leaked including some big surprises. Here is a list of what is going to be anounced tommorow. Tune in for the confernce at Xbox.com from 6pm GMT.
* Gears of War single player and multiplayer videos shown. Playable on show floor.
* HD-DVD anouncement. Release date and price for Europe and United States. £119.99/E149.99 and December 1st release in Europe.$199.99 USD and November 24th release in US.
All will be bundled with Universal Media Remote.
* A new Halo 3 trailer is shown. Some multiplayer info revealed. Aiming for 50-64 player online. Announce that Halo 3 will be the first game to run natively on 1080p. They will make full use of this update. Available in 2007. Playable behind closed doors.
* More info about 1080p and how it will be done. New dashboard announcement. Release date revealed for late November. Will allow users to try out homebrew content made with XNA game express.

There's so much stuff going on now...the Bioshock trailer is incredible! That truly looked "next-gen" to me...

It hurts my heart that the new Sonic STILL suffers from a retard camera system. What the fuck is with the delay? They let you control the cam with the right analog stick, but it doesn't feel instantly responsive like the cam/view in Saint's Row, to use a recent example. I push a direction, and it's like the camera is "...*sigh*..OK, dude damn...I'm goin, I'm goin..". Fuck you...respond IMMEDIATELY to my directions, you foul cunt. The inverted nonsense better have an option to change. Pushing up to look down is stupid. This is not a flight simulator. 3d Sonic games would be so awesome if they'd just keep at least a halfway decent camera.....apparently, that is unfortunately a tall order, I guess. That's asking too much, apparently.
