Ive been playing the pda mini game on AH over xbl lately. It is so simple and yet it CAN be a blast. I think its always fun but if you get couple of guys/gals that acctualy talk its great. Yesterday I played with 2 other guys and we were laughing the entire time. It was even more fun once I told the other 2 guys that you can kill the other people with the arm swing thing when you jump.

if ur offline, and u downloaded a trial before you bought, that game will revert to trial if you are offline.

Microsoft knows about the problem and said they are working on a fix. For right now, you have to be connected to XBL to play them.

..well, it's primarily a ps2 game, so I really doubt that. The possibilities with a new PSU are still quite interesting...and it's actually making me lose interest in the current game much faster. It's difficult to get excited about playing this PSU when I know a better one is coming soon.

UK, March 5, 2007 - Kicking off GDC in style, Microsoft has made a couple of interesting announcements. Firstly, the size limit for Xbox Live Arcade games has increased from 50MB to 150MB and, secondly, a 512MB Memory Unit is set for release next month - can you guess how the two are related?

There's been speculation that Microsoft would officially increase the Arcade size limit after it was revealed that Konami's upcoming Castlevania: Symphony of the Night would exceed the original 50MB restriction imposed upon developers.

"The new size limit offers developers increased flexibility and continued opportunities for innovative game development, while also ensuring that the millions of gamers on Xbox Live can continue to easily access, download and play all Xbox Live Arcade games on Xbox 360," said Chris Early, product unit manager for Xbox Live Arcade and Microsoft Casual Games at Microsoft.

Coinciding with the Live Arcade file size increase, Microsoft is set to release a larger Memory Unit too. A 512MB unit, arriving on April 3, will retail for $49.99 (roughly £26), while the current 64MB Memory Unit drops from $39.99 to $29.99 (about £15). For a limited time, the 512MB unit comes pre-loaded with Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. No details for Europe as yet, but we'll keep you posted.

Ok so I tried the demo of Worms. With a bunch of people getting excited about it I thought it would be great. Its not. Its a little slow for my taste. Replay value seems good though. As for TMNT I dont get why people are getting so excited. It was fun back when I was like 8 and I was really into tmnt and it was a coin eatting machine for sure. But I know for a fact that if I get it I will play it once, finish it and never play it again.

P.S. I'll probably end up getting both of those games just to have something else to play for a few minutes when I get home from work or before I leave for work in the morning.

I LOVE Capcom beat 'em ups. I play those two DnD games all the time on Kawaks online. Battle Circuit is really cool too. Great cartoony graphics, semi-RPG system of leveling up moves, wacky cast of characters; its just a really fun game.

Unfortunately, it'd be kinda hard for Capcom to get many of its classics on XBL because of linsecning issues(Alien vs Predator, Dungeons and Dragons, Cadallics and Dinosaurs, The Punisher are all amazingly good games).

Battle Circuit and Armored Warriors are original games, so there is always hope.

I've been on Pocketbike Racer for the past several days now....getting more and more acheivement crowns. The game cheats its ass off sometimes though....just like most kart racers. This is the main reason I stopped playing all racing games, btw. They cheat more than any other genre in the industry. Somehow, I'm still having fun with this.....crazy, wacky fun. Just the fact that I'm playing a game as The King himself is hilarious to me. I haven't even opened Sneak King yet...

I got Worms yesterday and played a few matches against a friend, it's still the shit. Replays are awesome and the game looks great.

The only thing that sucks is that two of my favorite weapons the Baseball Bat and Holy Hand Grenade are missing.

I borrowed Ninety nine nights from work today, its simple fun and looks really good. a decent rental for the achievements and, like i said, simple button mashing fun. i could see this being fun with 4 players on live, but really laggy. oh well, maybe itll be better if a sequal comes around.

But as it turns out, I'm sorry, as much as I tried, this game is just trash. I LOVE the character designs, I love the music, and some of the spells and bosses are cool, but damn otherwise this is a pretty awful game.

It plays alot like Devil May Cry 2, which is not a complement (DMC2 is the bastard child of the series). The Melee attack is worthless so you are left with shotgun and machine gun, and about 4 worthwhile spells (two of witch drain ALL your energy so aren't practical). Level designs suck ass, you often get lost, and there is little variety to the enemies.

That being said, watching the Rose Spear catch for the first time, or seeing the Tornado suck up everything on screen, is damn sexy. Too bad the hit detection is so bad it's hard to catch Rose Spears, Tornados eat all your magic, and using Telekinesis will sometimes throw the shit back at you for a cheap instant death.

The graphics are like the definition of mixed bag. On one hand, the enemies and bosses look excellent (and scary) in both design and detail. The lighting is impressive in parts, as is some of the texture work. On the other, the engine itslef is just so rough and lacking polish. Framerates range from 25-15 FPS, there is MASSIVE draw in, and some really fucked up shadows/shading. It really throws an otherwise good looking game off.

I think back when this game had it's proper release (July 06 in Japan), it wouldn't have been that bad. But games like Gears of War and Lost Planet have come out since then that have raised the bar so much, well, it just really makes Bullet Witch look bad in comparison. My question is what took them so goddamn long? Did we really need English voices (which are horrible BTW and there's no option for Japanese).

Overall if you are a heavy action fan, this is worth checking out as a rental. If you really dig the art style and direction, this is worth owning as Atari went all out to include art, a poster, full color manual and reversable jacket (you can revert it to the Japanese cover which includes some pretty sick art). Kudos for that.

With that being said, it can't really hold a candle to the better action games out there like God of War, Ninja Gaiden, Onimusha, Devil May Cry ...

Oh and GRAW and GRAW 2 are garbage I've been saying this forever. I'd rather play Bullet Witch than that shit. PEople seem to have this strange affinity towards Tom Clancy games that I will never understand.

Haha well, GRAW1 and 2 just feel clunky to me. Playing something like Gears which controls like a dream then going to GRAW is like night and day.

Likewise playing DMC then BW.

Games like SOCOM, GRAW, Rainbow Six and the ilk just feel drab and unappealling to me. Even if they played great (they don't), I don't really dig the source material to begin with. But whatever. It's just my opinion.

Day and Night is Rainbow6 and GRAW...Controls and game play are on different planets! I love both, and they are GREAT MP games, but I will not by unless my fam from DC area does as well (all the guys I used to work with have 360)

The original Ghost recon gameplay is leagues above this new 3rd person stuff they're selling now. Ghost Recon 1 and Ghost Recon Island Thunder were very very well made, and the multiplayer was fun as hell. I hope they go back to their roots with the gameplay in the next one.

I'm surprised how quickly the replay value for Alien Hominid went away for me. I don't have much desire to play it anymore, as I got a surprising about of acheivements from it.(6 or 7 out of the 12). There are only 2 other acheivements I see as reasonable for me to get....but outside of that...there's not much more of a reason to play. This was unexpected, as I usually like playing shootemup games over and over again for absurd amounts of time. It is rare that I get tired of shooting things.

Crackdown is a lot more fun that I initially thought it would be. I love the unstoppable power the game grants the player...The Agents are damn near invincible.

One hilarious moment; "The Colonel"(he'll always be the colonel from Metal Gear, no matter what other roles he plays) came on when I died in a stupid way, and said "THAT was sad."

*Just like in any other game...the shotgun kills are so satisfying...it's almost a sexual feeling. Bonus points for the developers including the Jago/Chuck Norris Kick™ as part of your arsenal. I love to hit 'em with that, then blast the shit out of them while they're still reeling in midair from my godlike roundhouse.

I really don't care about the driving though. It's much more fun to run and jump around. It's been said by everyone else as well, and I agree...the game could've benefitted from having more "stuff" to do. Still, it will likely be quite awhile before I get tired of going on murderous rampages and blowing things up. Well, honestly, I never get tired of such things.

The turtle ($60) is out, a bunch of people on XBL forums have played the game and have the achievements. I heard its a good rental, but only 4-6 hours of game play. In the days of +$40 games, that will not do for me.

Finally someone follows my directions!! Just make sure you check the region every time you play, and add the good players to you friendslist so that you don't have to rely on random rooms. and if someone new joins the room, check their location. If you think they'll lag, then kick them out.

When playing ranked matches, NEVER do quickmatch, you'll undoubtedly be paired with the laggiest players ever.

i beat TMNT today, it took literally 4 hours and 16 minutes (they tell you the time when you beat it) and you get 985 achievement points

takes about 1 minute to get the other 15 (just replay the first level and pick up a gold coin)

should rent it if you like climbing walls all day and braindead combat

Oh it's on...I just downloaded it. This is a great day. TMNT was one of the greatest arcade games of all time. Actually it was THE game to play for my generation, basically....at least until SF2 came out. Playing it again now....it's not just nostalgia talking...I still had fun just now....though I see why it was such a quarter pit though....tons of cheap hits all over the place. I beat Bebop and the sewer level after him, but that was it since I unfortunately have to go to work now.

The rocksoldier w/ the flamethrower, use don and strike him from max range. One strike then move.

I also have a flawless strat for Bebop. My guys kept running into him I was like "everyone back off" then I took him out w/o getting hit.

Oh, and I got to the technodrome with 15 guys left, but everyone else on my team was dead so the host stopped the game! That motherfuckeR! I had the most kills on the team too and was nearing the 250 achievement.

The rock guys though...it seems impossible to get by them without getting hit....well, the blue one in particular. At any point they do their little punch or whatever, and it will always knock you out of the air like it's a 100% guaranteed "anti air" tactic.

heh, drzzt and I were playing last night...so he was there as I almost got that flame thrower or whatever acheivement. That's another thing with the blue rock guy...it seems impossible to tell when he's going to shoot fire. The shit has NO startup frame of animation at all, it's just *BAM* fire is instantly on the screen....kinda reminiscent of the Fygars in Dig Dug....actually, it's worse. I just remembered that even the Fygars would give a "I'm going to shoot fire!" signal by flashing red or something while pausing before the fire comes out.

It's funny to me that both the rock generals sound like they're saying "fuck the turtles!"

*I almost got that acheivement for beating Shredder without being turned into a little turtle last night. The fight went on for quite awhile, and then I found myself in a position where that damn lightning was unavoidable.

Krang is a lot easier than I remember though....maybe it was because I was playing as Don at the time? If I could just get that downward angle style drop kick to come out every time, I could easily beat him without getting hit.(I used that drop kick to get past him and go to the other side of the screen, not to hit him. I think the eye lasers always hit you if you try to drop kick him.)

Usually when I fight most bosses, I attack once, and then move up or down. I dunno how to fight that 'fuck the turtles' guy though.


Krang is easy, you just kinda jump over him, over his attack, and sorta cross him up with a late jump attack. just keep that pattern, jumping over his attack and attacking late while jumping over him. with shredder, I just do the attack once and move thing. makes avoiding that ray a lot easier, but he moves way too fast for me not to get hit at all. haven't figured him out yet.

Two big tips that will help you guys beat it:

On the board stage, top left corner is completely invulnerable from the helicopters.

Raphael can take out the second rock soldier w/o getting hit. Just get really close and wail on him. Easy achievement, too.

Dios: trust me, you want 4 guys. Just get another buddy who knows what he's doin, and roll w/ two random scrubs.

A few little things in tmnt.

In the sewer level if you stay on the very bottom of the top level (just before falling in the water area) pretty much nothing attacks you at all and you can kill everything else.

Also with all the bosses I usually just walk up, let them come to me, hit him and then walk down and do the same thing the whole time. Just gotta make sure you hit them before they attack.

I think they'll just ban your JP account. I've had it since around this time last year and I've downloaded a few demos and other things. No problems so far on my gold or Jap silver accounts.

Edit: Here's a quick article on Microsoft's response to dummy accounts. Looks like they're not banning, rather, if caught with an IP that doesnt match your region, they'll block downloads to that acount. Althought I was able to DL the AC4 demo so I don't know if these measures are set in place yet.

Sorry I had to turn that co-op request down, jae. I was at the final battle against the leftover gang members...yeah, I killed the last of the gang bosses a few hours ago...this black guy from Shai Gen. Just getting to him was one of the most difficult things in the game, as there were NO decent places to hide from what seemed like thousands guards. Once I made it to the rooftop though, oh it was a cakewalk at that point. Of course, I threw his body off that building when it was over. I couldn't resist. There's an interesting revelation at the end, btw....which is surprising, considering how light the game is in terms of story content.

Unfortunately, there is too much order now. I have nothing left to kill...I haven't even seen the occasional mutant....so perhaps now is finally the time to become a rogue agent and kill random innocents.

Well guys, any doubts you had about the Xbox360 being the most shittily (a word?) manufactured console have now been realized.

My friends 4 month old 360 got the ring of death.

We decided to do take the scam root on solving this dillema. That is, we bought a brand new machine from Target, swapped in the old one, and got his money back. Fixed!

It's bullet proof and here's why:

I used to work at Staples. When a product is scanned, it only reads the SKU number. The SKU number is the same on every single Xbox 360 from launch till now. It's all that is on the receipt, in the computers.

Keep in mind that there are different SKU's for Premium and Core. Replace a Core w/ a Core, Prem w/ Prem. If you try to scam a Core for a Prem you will get caught.

Now, there are two serial numbers to be concerned with. 1 is on the 360, the other is on the box. So, when you go to return, use your old box and old 360. DO NOT SWAP BOXES, because these serial numbers are supposed to match.

Now, we DID swap boxes. We didn't have a choice (his box is MIA). However, the chances of them checking it, especially at a place like Target is very low. Now, EBGames on the other hand, they might check, cause they're more educated on the matter.

Worst case scenario you would get in store credit depending on the place but major retailers like Target and Walmart at least don't roll like that, so you're straight.

Look I learned this from my dad a LONG ass time ago. He bought a VCR or some shit and it broke. He explained to me that yeah it's not a great thing to do, but neither is getting POWN3ED by the man so to speak. Stick up for yourself brother!

They're not going to look at the date on your console until the serial number doesn't match the one on the reciept. I hate to be the one, but it's probably not going to work. All systems now are serialized BECAUSE of people trying to swap them out when something went wrong. I know cause I've tried to do it myself, and I've been on the opposite end of it when somebody tried to pull it on me when I was working at circuit city.

It might work at Target or Walmart, but it really just depends on how intelligent the person behind the counter is. If you try to do it some where like best buy, circuit city, or any game store then you're going to be shut down pretty quick. Might be different depending on where you live too. Good luck, IO.

No, every system has a serial number. Most places that sell them, sell them via the sku, and then after that's scanned they're asked for a serial number. If you look on your box, there is a small section that should either be perforated or cut out, which will show your serial number when the system is in the box. That is usually scanned at most major electronics stores and outlets. Again, some where like target or wal-mart may or may not do that, but it really depends on who's behind the counter and if they have that system in place. At the walmart here by Town center, my buddy tried to do the exact same thing you're doing and they were like "yo, this ain't what you bought. Keep it moving" because the serial numbers didn't match.

Do you have your old reciept? If you do, check to see if there's a serial number printed on the reciept. If there is, you don't want to go back to that place.

I know people that worked for UPS. They used to steal games out of boxes. The boxes were unmarked so they didn't know what games were in them until they cracked them open. Say they stole something like a Powerpuff Girl's game...they'd take it to Wal-Mart, get a store credit, buy a game they'd rather have like God of War 2. No questions asked, and they did it almost weekly.

Now say they did this with the Powerpuff Girl's game before it even came out. Wal-Mart will still take the damn thing. Even though they don't have it on their shelves yet. They take ANYTHING homey.

Be a good human being and just send it to Microsoft. It's painless, fast, and it doesn't cost you a thing (if you're still under warranty). A friend of mine did the console swap trick back when his japanese Dreamcast broke. Great for him but that screws over the store and the next person to buy the system. Remember, it doesn't matter if your system is brand new or referbushed, it's most likely gonna break in 3 months anyway. My Xbox 360 #3 is on month 5 and I'm amazed.

Anywho, this may have been already disscused but I went a few pages back and didn't see anything about it. So, anybody getting Armored Core 4 or is the game being passed up by the SRK crowd? I'm still on the fence about which version to get but I'm pretty hyped for this game myself.

Armored Core games always get bad reviews because From Software has been making the same exact game since Armored Core 2. That said, Armored Core 2 was the last one I played and AC4 has online play (which other US versions of the series haven't had) and it's supposed to be faster then previous games. Besides, AC is all about building cool looking makes and breaking stuff.

Crackdown becomes even more fun to me in co-op. I helped my best friend from college(he just got the game yesterday) beat some of the crime bosses last night. haha...he was so jealous of my maxed out agility and strength. The difference becomes so clear when you're looking at another player who's fresh to the game and hasn't leveled up yet. I could jump at least 4 or 5 times higher than this guy, and cover way more ground....it was funny.

...amazing thing is, I was STILL finding things for the first time playing thru with him, even though I beat all the bosses. For example, I didn't even know about this one underground area close to one of the beaches...and I didn't know about the basketballs on the courts. Of course, I then HAD to do it...I used a basketball as a weapon. Anyway, we crushed most of Los Muertos last night...he should probably have only 1 or 2 of those bosses left.

I've been focusing on the driving lately, since I think the other abilities are at max. Still, driving is really only cool and interesting when you have the Agency vehicles. I'm preferring the Supercar so far, since it reminds me so much of the old Batmobile, especially with the transforming. Driving is the most difficult thing to upgrade, imo. I keep losing progress by accidentally hitting pedestrians.

*anyway, yeah...I'm available again for co-op tonight(after 24 of course), since I've killed all the bosses.

Armored Core has become a niche series, appealing exclusively to people who love customizing their mech for hours before doing anything else (no joke). As a result, everything else is secondary, including the actual gameplay, so its mainstream appeal is pretty much gone. Hopefully AC4 is more interesting, but considering how little hype it's getting and the generally poor reviews, I'm not holding my breath.

Got to lvl 11 in NBA Street and its gets alittle better as you go. It is still rediculous that I can stand under the basket with Sue Bird and get about 10 blocks a game at least. Blocking in that game is rediculously easy. I dont like not being able to distribute my own points either, I have made god knows how many 3p shots with my created guy and his shooting is still only at 27.
