I believe that is the only game worth getting a 360 for, that is unless someone has a pc that will be good enough to run oblivion when it is released.

This generation of games is going to be lame. I take it as a mixed blessing, just gives me more of a reason to go back to current gen stuff I missed and dreamcast, snes, or whatever.

I got my premium paid off including games that consist of DOA 4, Call of Duty 2, Project Gotham 3, Perfect Dark limited, Elder Scrolls, Kameo, and NBA 2K6. Im sure that i will get something else like Madden if its available. System bias sucks stop favoring one over the others it just seperates the community that way, ill be getting all three. Don't early versions of systems go "bad" after a while? I remember when the PS2 first came out and some of their systems had to be returned over some trivial thing... In that case I'd rather wait until the price goes down or when all the bugs are fixed.

That's where Mugen saves the day! (except for the fact that most of the sites are French...). Unless Street Fighter 4 comes out for either console I REALLY can't find a reason to buy them. And even then I'd probably would have more fun finding all the good fighting games for Dreamcast (which I still love from the bottom of my heart).

Hell na my first gen ps2 is freaking tough! The tray always jams up on me and I havta physically ram the tray real hard to shut it and it closes and opens like normal. I use the knife trick w/ swap trick for a long while and the laser is still good and stuff.

I would get xbox 360 but it lacks in rpgs, platformers. I know xbox had some platformers but none of them were as good as Jak and Daxter or Rachet and Clank. I also know 360 will not have as many greatest hits as ps3 like Devil may cry 4, MGS4. Xbox to be would have been better if capcom, konnmi and squarenix made more games for 360.


If a megaman game comes out its going to be for ps3, if a FF comes out or dragon quest it will come out for ps3, and any rockstar game comes out for PS3 then youll have to wait a month for it to come out for xbox. Sure 360 will have Halo but I dont play Halo games or Fable, and they have to many sports and racing games, sure people like those games but not everyone likes sports games. Mircosoft needs more Rpgs and good platformers then I might buy 360.

But who buys a Playstation with out an extra controller or 2 (or 6 in this case) a memory card and all that stuff. I totally understand why some of the games won't be up to par when the system is released. MS is trying to capitalise on the BEST time of year to release a new system, so of course there has to be a good amount of games to compliment the purchase. I really dont believe that first batch of games is a good representation of what the 360 is capable of....Would be buyers should be thinkin long term instead of instant Gratification, Just like with every other launch.

I am really looking forward as to what the 360 can do as opposed to the sony smoke and mirror hype. After sony gets done downgrading the PS3, I really feel a lot of people will be dissappointed and if you believe that the US will get a PS3 in the spring, thats just plain ridiculous. Look forward to a Fall release at the earliest and a $400 minus the hardrive.

Im on the edge whether to buy one at launch or wait till after christmas. I really dont need to have one right away, the games look good but i have a back log of xbox & PS2 games to finish that look really good. Im waiting to here how PDZ scores and plays.

You know, right now the PS3 hype is minimal. It would be in M$ and Nintendo's best interest to focus in Quality much more than Quantity, but as of right now, i dont think either is going to be able to significantly cut into Sony's market...

I think sony is having all kinds of issues at the present momment internally with its business model and its resources are being spread very thin. This isnt going to be like last gen with sony dominating the market. The PSP is still trying to find itself in the market, people have been waiting since launch for a system selling game. Apple is pushin up on sony in the portable video market, MS has a head start and a easy to develope for system and NIN is trying to innovate, plus the DS is putting out quality. Not to mention on the public reaction to blue-ray, no work on a online strategy, a shitty controller, and still no playable games. Call me crazy but sony has there work cut out for them, especially if launch games arent up to that KillZone 2 level of quality that they flauntered around at E3.

I am in the same boat as you, I have no interest in any of the American games whatsoever but I wouldn't mind picking up DOA4 and trying out Enchant Arm. If I buy a 360, it will definitely be Japanese.

Okay, I was just curious. I was gonna ask about the games fan base because those who play it here are very receptive of it and are dedicated players.

Good points, Sony has been in trouble for minute anyway. The majority of sales is from there PS brand and Samsung (Samsung has been rising in televisions), Toshiba are kicking there asses right now. So they really need this console to do very well. Apple is kicking there is asses in portable video (stated earlier) let's not even state any further with the Ipod, nokia is kicking ass in the cell market, there is no chance for them against Dell, No matter how much you put it Sony is in deep shit inspite of their sales of Playstation. As for the system selling, it may be that Liberty stories game but who knows.

The XBox 360 is not shipping with anything other than a standard DVD rom, like the XBox has now. With all this push for the "HD Era," Microsoft isn't giving developers the necessary data space for the increase in graphics. What is their option, an install disc like a PC? Nope, because the HD is not standard on all 360's, not allowed either. Because of this single reason, I am not getting a 360 at launch, nor possibly ever. Even though I am dying to play Elder Scrolls more than anything I've seen for PS3, I'd shell out $400 in PC upgrades before $400 for a slight x-box upgrade.

As for the PS3, shit is too far away to guess how its going to turn out. However, look at it this way, if it costs them $500 to make each unit now, in 8 months its going to cost <$400. Jackpot. PS3 is not scheduled to hit american shores until Fall 2006, a year from now. Thats a long way away, and a long way to gauge reaction to the 360 and adjust accordingly. Its not like the current gen, where Sony had the market for years, and then Microsoft comes along and says "Hey, check out our product!" 1 year won't mean much 4 years from now.

Microsoft may be first to the market, but the only thing they're doing is pushing out their own current top of the market (in terms of power) system, to make way for a slightly better one, when the real big boy looms around the horizon ready to strike.

However, I will be there at launch all night to get a 360 to sell on E-Bay the next day.

There is nothing, so far, that looks groundbreaking for 360. Most of them are just Xbox games with slightly improved graphics. If you have a ps2, there are still plenty of games to tide you over until ps3. Okami, Subsistence, KH2, FFXII, Black all look good.

It'll be PS3 and Rev for me this time (like it was PS2 and Cube last time).

Check out cod on xbox... Then check out cod 2. I played the pc version of cod 2 and it looks a hell of a lot better than any xbox game.

^^ same thing, I bought CoD2 for PC and its amazing, but I was never interested in dropping $50 for an Xbox version anyways.

But I read a review on another forum of Perfect Dark Zero, they gave is 9.7. The AI is on point, its a very challenging game, in the way that you cant always just run in there and beast with 2 guns.

It's got fully working online CO-OP mode, and theres no checkpoints for Co-Op since each partner has a revive kit

if your partner dies, it takes 5 seconds of you using the revive kit to bring him back

seems like a short time but when you're in a firefight that shit is ALL DAY

I won tickets to that Xbox Zero hour launch party in palmdale and me and a friend are rolling up there and playing game for the next 2 days and picking up a 360 premium package most likely nice to be able to play 32 player perfect dark and gears of war along with other games that were not playable as of yet. itll really suck me in and ill truely see if im with the hype to buy a 360.

Im really thinking about it due to all the money you will save on the premium package, the remote contorller is a limited time offer. the HD is 100 alone, free headset, and free upgrade from wired controller to wireless. Plus the free launch day faceplates for the 360 will fetch a pretty penny on ebay.

For all the Gamestop and EB Games customers that have had it reserved for months, who paid off the entire thing in advance, and who STILL won't get one at launch. "better"? Seems like the graphics are alot better. Played call of duty 2(i think) at a wal-mart display today and the visuals were pretty good and nearly lifelike. Since launch titles rarely ever come close to full use of a systems power,that is pretty good.

I'd imagine future games will look even better.

Won't be bothering with 360 though unless it shows some better stuff x-box 1 lacked.

Good point, that was before the PC industry got into 3d cards. But the engine dev was pretty good for doing that much with so little. A lot of advancement in engines came from those constraints. Now there's no reason to go to arcades except for gimmicky games.

the core clock speed of the 7800 gtx is actually lower than the xbox2, but very very close. because the ati card is a "custom card" i wouldn't doubt that the 7800 gtx can bench higher.

I can see why they call it 1.5 but wait until they can tweak out the system in the later stages of Xb360's life. Even 1 year down the road they will come up with some awesome shit. I have a few 'favorite' developers that I know are already under Microsoft that I can't wait for to release some great games. Also couple with the fact that Microsoft will undoubtely own the online market (unless Sony does something drastic about their online plans) so I'm 100% sure that online games are going to be fun on 360.

Theres also a few other things that i'm excited for in the 360. I've always liked the media center bit on the original XB, but sadly it wasnt an official program, but now, it is and I can hook up my Ipod to it and copy music, video or whatever and play it on my 360. Since it has a video standard of 720P, I can watch those videos in HD w/o ever having to have a computer and buy some ridiculous expensive videocard to do it.

Yeah, I used to be a hardcore gamer but those days are gone. And I think the majority of people with things to do in the real world are in the same boat. That's why I like FPSs and racing games, it's easy to pop in for a 20 min break and then jump off. I don't want to sit through a cutscene that takes up that time, or have to read a story when I can be reading a book instead.

First impressions matter a lot, if the game looks like ass, I won't play it period.

I work at Wal Mart and when I left Monday morning the line to start waiting had already begun inside around 7:30 AM. When I returned to work last night they were still there. Wal Mart set up chairs for them with numbers under each chair to keep place in line. You were only allowed to go to the bathroom as a break, anything else and your spot was fair game to the next available person. They had 32 systems, and only 4 of those were the HD bundle, so most of these guys waited 17+ hours in a chair at Wal Mart for the shittier bundle with no HD. Why these people chose to do this instead of just putting $50.00 down at Gamestop a month ago is a mystery to me. Then around 12:30 they were gone and we had about 50 people waiting outside asking how we could have sold out that quick. :rolleyes: I have to say it was quite sad to see these guys, I do say guys as there was not one female present, nodding out and in obvious discomfort over a fucking video game system. :lame: I know there have been worse lines and waits for other things, but actually seeing it right in front of you was just...damn. I do feel better knowing that my 3 hour wait for a N64 years back is nothing compared to what goes on now.

Every cd gaming system in history has had problems with launch system's. Even tho dreamcast prob had the best launch as far as performance. But if you buy a system on launch you should be ready to purchase a warrenty along with it.

So the video card in the 360 is supposed to have several times the processing power of current video cards in the industry right now huh? Doesn't several mean 2-3 times? If that's the statement they made, then that isn't saying much as seeing how new videocards come out about every 3-6 months. They should stop using the "It's as powerful as a PC" niche to sell units since that'll never be the case. But here is the big thing, all the graphics in the world won't help a game if the gameplay sucks. Look at Tao Feng for the Xbox. That game is graphically stunning. But the gameplay is so terrible, you can't love it base on grahpical superiority alone. It's like, if they came out with a killer 2D fighting game with graphics that much better than Streetfighter 3. Then they come out with a 3D fighter that looks as real as life it self. If the gameplay for the 3D games sucks, no one will care how good it looks.
