Yall dont' like Chula cause sticks are iffy, screen is discolored.

Yall dont like Mission cause arcade sucks cause there's no competition.

Yall don't like Gamelords cause shit is too expensive.

THEN GO TO PLAZA BONITA.

Has marvel on a big machine, so there's ample amount of space. Sticks/buttons work well.

Also, it doesn't have those weird ass looking emo kids that hang around Chula Mall all day.

And for you Tekken heads that hated 5.1's bore fest. Tekken is switched back to 5.0!!!!

Plaza was already the hotspot for Tekken. Now we can make it the hotspot for MvC2. Need comp? I'm decent:tup: . I'm sure Dios-X- is down to play.

So if I'm reading this correctly, they moved the marvel out of the close space machine on to a big screen? That's good enough for me to go. Only reason I never went was no competition. I guess some other people are wondering if they got cvs2 or any other games besides marvel and tekken. I know they have marvel 1 also not sure the status of the machine though.

MvC1 is there. But in horrible shape. They CAN fix it, if it gathers enough interest. Like if enough people play it to where they don't waste their money buying sticks/buttons.

Or you could just donate buttons/sticks. I'm donating some sanwa buttons for the T5 machine there.

Sticks are concave, with switches. They work well though.

Good news though, Gam ordered some competition buttons so those will be fixed. Now real buttons instead of that fake shit.

Dunno bout sticks though. Sticks seem fine to me.

So how's Plaza shaping out for everyone? I know me and Fernando like it. But everyone else?

Right now I still stand by my opinion in that Plaza has the best MvC2 cab right now. Other than iffy buttons at times everything is fine. Stick COULD be better, but it's not broke and it works fine. It's also a work in progress as mentioned before. Gam HIMSELF ordered competition buttons, straight out of his pocket. So he's doing it for the community.

It gets kinda hot in there haha. You gotta stand infront of DDR for a while to get some air (cause it got fans.)

Tekken 5 is great. Comp like always. Changed back to 5.0 and all new buttons (again for the community). The BEST comp in SD. And if the big dogs aren't there (Ace, Alex, Mark, etc) then I'm sure myself and others there WILL give you a challenge.

MvC1 doesn't work. Prolly won't work for a while (or forever) cause no one plays the game. I know a few of us do, and maybe they'll fix it. You just gotta have support for it, and they'll do it for sure. But I think it's best for the manager to order the buttons for MvC1 rather than Gam. Cause I don't think it's a good investment since the game is so old, and really there's only a few players that want to play.

What else?

Oh! None of those Aeon Flux looking emo kids. They just look stupid and fucking POPULATE Chula Mall. I mean to each their own, but shit.

As for the quarters problem they were busy that day and couldn't replace the machine with quarters.

The sticks seem ok, and like you said they COULD be better. Can't wait to try out the new buttons, the ones right now are kinda bleh. They also might wanna put some stools there, kinda have to slouch down to play. Other than that prolly 25 cent games and it'll be good.

i totally support plaza, its hella chill and the mvc2 and t5 machines are top notch, cept for mvc2 buttons and such, but those will be fixed shortly as chris said, so patince will fix that. nam is cool he lets me eat shit and drink in tilt so thats tight, i might pick up ddr again so my fat ass can lose weight, i need 200$ to buy a metal pad from frys, anyone want to donate? :)

So over all what do you think of South Bay's skill level? I think it's pretty good, this is the closest in terms of I guess equity of skill level between everyone that it's ever been. Looks like you guys been practicing since GT closed! Good shit...keep it up.

soooo i just got back from plaza and played KOFXI for the first time and i like it. a lot. graphics are a big step up from the previous games so it looks pretty. being that its on the old namco horse racing game makes it oh so better with the 2 screens...and yes, you play while sitting on the horse. hah jk. but its cool. i like. wanna play more.

and marvel is nice. lets not forget about THAT game.

3d games just appeal to more people than 2d games like KOF,marvel. i bet more people have heard of DOA/tekken/SC than the 'vs. series' combined. its pretty, easIER to play, 3d..and more cool looking things happen when buttons are pressed compared to 2d games.

i like tekken tho. it is fun.

Depends on what game your talkin about, in tekken, to me, even a string of hits, long ass combo, wont impress me when i comes to looking cool, GGXX, marvel , and DOa 4 however is different, that shit is flashy, fast, and crazy with alot of special effects, im not bashing tekken, its a good game, but when you just smack, smack, smack, a red gloop comes out, i guess thats blood, and thats all that happens, im not impressed, but its still a good game deep down and thats all that matters.

IMO normal, casual players prefer tekken due to its easier to pick up, and its already widely known that paul and christy take no real effort to be good with or need any real tactics, just mash and pray and maybe you will get a win due to the scrubbiness of the characters. Sure you could win with Heihachi or Yoshimitsu, but scrubs wont touch em, that takes time to learn a character and master combos, and mind games and such which they * noobs, scrubs * simply wont dedicate the time to do. Just christy and paul that shit down.

Ever see a scrub play a 2d game and try that shit, there chances from winning in a 3d games over to a 2d game with tactics like that drop dramatically, they will be lucky to even get a hit in. Especially in games like Marvel and GGXX.

2d is harder to master imo, but thats not saying 3d is trash. Maybe not as cool looking in the special effects department, but its good nontheless.

SC3 sucks.

If ANYTHING MvC2 and DOA are mashers. The only person you can mash w/ in Tekken is Christie/Eddy.

Really the only reason for any of this is ignorance. Not ignorance as in stupidity, just ignorance in those arguing against Tekken haven't played it extensively.

Just like ignorant SNK players would say marvel is all about button mashing cause you can press two buttons and get 50 hits. But IMO someone can pick up MvC2 easier than they can pick up Tekken. Cody doesn't know how to play MvC2, but at Southwestern College against some of those guys, I told him pick BH and Captain Commando, and jump around pressing fp and commando assist. He got like 5 wins.

I play! well im getting into it and am looking for comp too =]. chula has comp buttons on their cab. sticks at both plaza and chula are about the same tho. as far as when players go, its usually pretty random with no consistant players at all =].
