It's nice that the covers seem to be made to pertain to the plot within the issue, now :)

(Eeeeee, is that a Doll cover? :O)

Please UDON, for the love of god don't release a Doll cover!

Poor Tiamat will explode simply by the mere existence of it and then when are we going to get the latest Plot Guide update?

TiamatRoar

Well, even with Tiamat in one hundred pieces the next update can't possibly take longer to do than the two friggin' years the last one did if that's any consolation.

Oh my god, the foils look great! E Honda looks amazing - one of the best foils so far and Karin too.

Yeah, all that cover art is badass. I especially like the T.Hawk one, and the Honda foil is crazy!

I also like the fact that the T.Hawk cover actually pretains to what is happening in the issue. I really found it annoying during all of Street Fighter's initial run, almost none of the covers had anything to do with the story itself.

Yay. Unrelated covers were one of my biggest complaints about the first run.

We do listen to you guys!

For the first series, we want to have iconic shots so that it is more recognizable for people. And we feel that now SF Comics has been extablished, we can do more story oriented covers. Once in a while, we will probably still do some character jam shots to stirr things up. But mostly we are working on covers that is related to the main and back up stories in the respective issues.

Thank God! Those spectacular, if nonsense covers were the biggest weakness of the original series. Now that that's solved, SF can only get better.

i don't understand the background behind that.

It's a pseudo well-known fact that I'm a huge Doll fan. In fact, they're the reason I started caring about Street Fighter's plot again (when I actually didn't pay attention for a really long time) and later on started the plot guide, really (heck, I suspect that the speed at which the plot guide is updated is almost directly proportional to how soon I get some new Doll tidbits to add to it)

Why? I dunno. I just liked the idea, outfit, and concept the moment I saw Juli and Juni on some fan art site. ...of course, this was before I found out they talked like robots, but mweh :}

After noticing it and thinking about the likely reasoning behind it, I'm finding it hilarious that Enero was armed with a gun in the final version.

Actually... my comment to Mark's sketch with her holding the microphone is just to remove it, coz I really think it is kinda dumbed down the cover image with it. Mark then added a gun on his own, which come to think of it looks kinda cool..... that's why I kept it.

TiamatRoar

Yea, I figured it was something like that. It's probably the most nonsensical accessory among all the Dolls (made all the more hilarious/bizarre by how Enero was possibly the first...)

She's been a colorist on SF for a long time now.
It's sorta a stigma in the industry that colorists and inkers can't pencil and vice versa, but if you've ever met her at a convention she'd blow that one out of the water really quick.

Nice to see she's getting some recognition for it outside of just convention sketches, though. :lovin:

Christine is an amazing artist and colourist.
She drew me a sketch of Ryu tryin to catch a fly
with chopsticks... Karate Kid style! It was FANTASTIC!

Here are some photos I took of her sketches:

Got the latest Previews for March 2006 and love seeing the cover art for the latest Street Fighter issue. However, there’s a price discrepancy. On UDON's own section, the price for both regular covers is stated as $2.95 but in the standard list+cover part under UDON, it states that Alvin Lee and Sven's cover versions of #4 is $3.25.

I'm sure its supposed to be $2.95 but just to give you a heads up on it, udoneko

err.. hey guys.. im pretty new with all this comic book stuff

i bought volumes 1 and 2 from amazon today cuz i got a gift card for christmas, but im just trying to figure out if theres a difference between the issues that ur talking about and the stuff that i just bought. cuz the volumes are over 100 pages and cost just about $10, but these issues are less than 5 bucks, right?

could someone explain this to me n clear this stuff up?

edit: btw, do the volumes cut some stuff out of the regular comics, like the less-important stories or something?

The Switcher

You bought the trade paperbacks. That collects all the single lower-priced issues together. So instead of carrying around thirteen 22-page comics, you have two 100 pages comics.

The new issues we're talking about are the next few ones AFTER the two collections you just bought.

Street Fighter was 14 issues long, that's what you have.

Now Udon is making Street Fighter II: which continues the story, but simply starts back at issue number 1 again. You can either buy these single issues from now on, or simply wait for another 10$ trade paperback to come out, but that probably won't be another year from now.

Get all that?

If you can't answer politely, go and answer to your mamma, who had the unhapiness to put you in the world.

(I asked this because here, in my country, we used to have a SF Comic which was not cannon, but it worked during long years).

I figure Ryu and Gen will have a cool ilttle fight in issue 4 but Gen should certainly win the fight and teach Ryu a little something(atleast from the fight). Gen can match(or BEAT ) Akuma in alpha so Gen should be able to beat Ryu at this point . I hope karin comes back in this issue since she has a foil(so cool). You say you listen,Udon,GIVE US MORE DAN,KARIN and RAINBOW MIKA please.

It's way too late now but perhaps you could have done a headset (like the "DBZ scouter" Cammy's worn in earlier issues).

STREET FIGHTER II #5
by Ken Siu-Chong & Alvin Lee
As Chun-Li returns to Hong Kong, Cammy and T. Hawk come under attack from
Shadaloo forces. Meanwhile, Bison seems focused on reclaiming his prized agent, Killer
Bee! Will Cammy be able to fend off the deadly Doll Agents, this time without the help
of Chun-Li or Delta Red? Or could she get the help of a figure from her mysterious past?
Plus, a back-up story that delves into Chun-Li's troubled past with Master Gen!
COVER A: ALVIN LEE—7x10, 32pgs, FC SRP: $2.95
COVER B: ANDREW HOU—7x10, 32pgs, FC SRP: $2.95
COVER C: POWER FOIL—7x10, 32pgs, FC SRP: $12.50
RAW B&W INCENTIVE ED

So what do you think, when the SF-Gang is travelling to Russia to meet Zangief? And when Cammy gonna meet Vega in Santorin (Greece) as in SFA3? Is the mysterious figure from Cammy's past her father - Eagle???

Some people are gay not for their whole life, it becomes clear to them, that they prefer men to whomen only after some time having sex with the opposite sex.

So Eagle could be Cammy's father, before he has became gay. That's life!

I always figured that Gen could fight Gouki because he had so much experience, knew Ansatsuken(how to counter the Shun Goku Satsu), and had deadly moves of his own like Zenei. Gen gets very weak after fighting Shadowloo Dolls and doing training drills with Chun Li. If Ryu manages to improve under Dhalsim as much as Sagat did he could probably give Gen a good fight. Gen seems to be getting worse because of his illness and I'm not sure how he would fare against someone who can really move and hit. I'm sure he knows how to counteract big moves like the SGS, but that's really knowledge based, and has nothing to do with actual skill or ability. Gen doesn't seem to have much physical strength or endurance left. If this fight is 5 panels I could see him winning, but if it last 1/2 the issue Gen should be a coughing, blood vomiting mess.

And didn't Gouki spare Gen when they fought because he realized that Gen was sick?

"And didn't Gouki spare Gen when they fought because he realized that Gen was sick?"

Yes, when Akuma realized Gen was sick he stopped the fight immediately. Gen was actually planning a sucker punch when he thought Akuma was going to deliver the final blow. But right when he was about too, Akuma disappeared and Gen didn't understand why. I suppose Akuma felt it would not be a true victory killing someone who is ill. I'm pretty sure we should see this fight in the upcoming issues when Gen tells Ryu of how he and Akuma met. Should be interesting.

mbthomas
02-14-2006, 04:45 PM
Not quite dude, your right about Akuma's motives but in the ending in SFA2 Gen wasn't waiting to sucker punch him but he was waiting for Akuma to kill him. If you follow the Gen's character you would see that he longs for a death match where he is defeated by a stronger opponent and die fighting rather than by cancer.

TheLastSaiyan
02-14-2006, 05:28 PM
"If you follow the Gen's character you would see that he longs for a death match where he is defeated by a stronger opponent and die fighting rather than by cancer."

Yeah I know, but the reason I mentioned the sucker punch thing is because if you remember, when Gen was defeated he was on the ground with his back turned to Gouki and he was thinking "come on, just a little closer". That's what led me to believe Gen was planning a sneak attack on Akuma when he thought the final blow was coming towards him. It's the only thing I could get from that, for the longest of time I didn't quite get that line and eventually came to that conclusion. It seemed like a logical explanation as to why Gen would have been thinking that.

Unless....Gen was just saying that in hopes that Akuma would finish the job. Hmmm....that's probably the truer answer.
