So now the ADAMANTIUM BALLS of THE MASON and the INTEGRITY ROCKS of TRIPLE P have mixed to form a new PALMER-MASON FORCE!

You can see the PALMER-MASON in action when Aaron says "Is there anything else, Charles?" That was STRAIGHT UP TRIPLE-P RIGHT THERE! Somewhere in the retreat, IAGO's knees shook as he involuntarily recalled the time when TRIPLE P said "I'm the PRESIDENT. Don't call me by my first name!"

And then when LOOPY SHIRANUI capped PUSSIDENT'S BITCH AND decided to rat-out her limp-dick husband? Pure PALMER/MASON right there. I swear, LOOPY SHIRANUI has been channeling TRIPLE P all season, and now she's tapping into THE MASON as well.

I have a bad feeling about Aaron though. I hope the IAGO doesn't awaken in DIRTY MIKE again!

Man, when Jack came EXPLODING out of that room after Miles...I nearly joygasmed thinking about all the potential ways he was going to FUCK UP THAT WEASEL. Sadly, it didn't happen.

Well Bierko doesn't really fear retribution but do agree that the writers flopped BIG TIME with this plot. Seriously it sounds more like a G.I. Joe episode than something realistic.

I missed last season's finale: Why was Bauer in the Chinese embassy in the first place?
Jack and Palmer (when he played special enforcer to Logan) needed this Chinese dude from the Mao Mansion™ to tell CTU where exactly Marwan was going to use the missile. However, the Consulate wanted to go through that Office Space TPS Report bullshit which would have taken hours, so Palmer made an undercover order to have Jack and his team (sans Curtis) go and steal that sumbitch.

They go in, but one of the fuckfaces who lacked the peripheral Diago beastiality to be an accurate shooter accidentally killed the Consulate, who's final sin was telling PPP "no." Jack and the team managed to get the dude - who got injured in the process - but during the escape one of the Chinese men managed to lift up on of the agents' mask, and Counsel Hahn (the main dude you saw towering over Jack) wanted to investigate. Palmer denies any knowledge of course.

Hahn goes to CTU and tries to get some proof, but Jack told him Yao Ming had AIDS and he was on his way out...until Edgar fucked up things and revealed Jack's story to Hahn was hella false.

As the unmasked agent tried to get protection via hibernation, Hahn and gang took over his escapade. They threatened to have him spend the rest of his life in a maximum-security prison in Siberia (I think?) if he didn't spill the beans. He, of course, ain't Curtis/Tony/THE MASON/Lynn 2.0 so he pissed Jack's name as the leader of the operation.

Jack fakes death once Palmer tells him the Chinese are on to him, and here we are.

I'm sorry if I'm forgetting shit or fucked some thangs up, but that's basically it. Plus I'm still high off of Dat Jackaine. Fuck this is the best (network) show ever.

The Chinese are on a big ass boat from LA heading west, so, I imagine that it's at least 2-3 days travel to mainland. An interesting ending to an otherwise mediocre season, ultimately salvaged by the fine acting of Gregory Itzin (Logan) and Jean Smart (Martha).

Probably been posted, but did anyone else think when the marines were doing their rifle salute, that Logan was going to somehow try and jump into their line of fire and off himself? Good fakeout.

The Submarine plot with Bierko was a waste. Even if it was a means to an end in finishing the Henderson subplot it was still excessive and silly.

I thought the season was at its best during the train station episodes, and during the initial investigation of Palmer's assassination. The episode that took place entirely inside of the Centox filled CTU was also a breath of fresh air (pun intended).

Season 6 Wishlist

1.) Proper gun usage: No more walking around with your guns pointed at the ceiling and finger on the trigger, come on now. Finger on the side of the gun, low ready. Jack normally does this, so at least that's a plus. When a gun runs out of ammo and you pull the trigger, it makes the 'click' sound once, subsequent pulls on the trigger do not make a sound, this is a classic tv/movie mistake, but I understand it's there to convey exactly what's going on to the audience. There are entire legions of Military and Law Enforcement Tactical Advisors that I'm sure would love to work on this show, and they should be hired. It would only benefit the show.

2.) More Dynamic Villains: It's worked for the show's duration thus far, but I think it's time to mix it up a bit. As much as the Monologue/Minor Action Scene/Death is effective, it's really losing steam.

3.) No attacks/moles/murders/coverups/bombings/gassings @ CTU: Holy cow, just leave this place alone. After seasons upon season of all this, this place should have the most stringent hiring process in the world. Every room should be filled with squint inducing overhead lighting and security cameras watching every facet and corner. I'm all for the intricate human drama that transpires here, but wow.

4.) More Political Intrigue: With the Chinese being involved I think it's safe to say this will be a for sure thing so that makes me happy.

5.) Get a new leader/actor for 'The Patriots'. The guy is charisma-less, and has the screen presence of a hand towel.

6.) More great music by Sean Callery.

The plot has to involve her at some point, maybe she will be the leverage over Jack that the Chinese need. If you can't threaten somebody's life, i.e. Jack wasn't afraid to die because of Resurrection power, threaten somebody close to them.

Random thoughts: OK now that the season is done with, I have to wonder, what the fuck did the DVD prequel have to do with anything? Should I accept that as canon or not? It's hard to figure since the Season 4 DVD prequel linked directly to the season opener.. so who was it? The Patriots? Or was it Henderson's thugs, as in did Henderson really know for sure that Bauer was alive? At that point it really doesn't make sense that our favorite cast members died off since word should've gotten out that Bauer was alive and the assailants probably knew who covered up his death.. anyway I think it's best to take the prequel as a BS appetizer.

As for next season.. if it takes place at all in China, the realtime aspect guarantees it'll all happen abroad.. I mean the fastest ticket back to LA (by plane) will take 10 hours or something.. my guess is he'll cut some kind of deal with ZE GERMANS to help him escape the wrath of Lan Di and company.. and then German spies will supply him with codec nanomachines that hooks him back up with CTU LA to thwart whatever threat that'll hit the West coast for the 6th day in a row..

I think it's fucked up that Robocop dies but that weasel Miles lives another day.. it's funny how he cut his exit speech short.. I can tell that when Jack plays Metal Gear Solid, he skips the cutscenes every time a boss dies.. and OH GOD I was so hoping that Jack made good on his threat of giving Pussident's brain a bullet implant.. either that or his bowels gave out on camera.. anyway Green Lantern is president now, I was actually wondering before the last two eps if Logan was going to get away with everything..

And Audrey looks so damn.. eager around Jack. I know she's pissed for getting totally blueballed when he got kidnapped.


One last thing, this is my first 'week-by-week' 24 experience, and I have to say that the 'see it all in a weekend on DVD' format is far superior.. you tend to gloss over all those slow and pointless episodes (like the one with the computer hacker and the teenage sex slave) when you watch the season in one sitting, especially since there's far less wait for the plot-progressing events to happen.. I would've waited for the DVD but there was no chance in hell that I could visit the Internet and not get spoiled.. so week-by-week it is for me from now on..

SHANG TSUNG is a beast too, he just turtled Jack and then unleashed his HERO SOUL CRUSH. The minute I saw him, I remember hating him during S4 when LA was under a fucking MISSILE THREAT and he's still all "But my consulate waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

Jack saves the world but gets owned YET AGAIN. The writers must seriously hate this guy. People anticipate Jack's tragic death at the end of the series but honestly, what he's been through up to now is far worse than death.

I agree that the submarine sub plot was kind of unnecessary. The last few eps should have focused exclusively on getting Pussident. They should have kept MONTEL in the mix too, it would have made things more meaningful. Have a scene with MONTEL alone with PUSSIDENT and holding a gun. That would have been awesome.

Still, it was good to see Jack pull a RAMON SALAZAR on ROBOCOP with the empty gun. That was so much ownage. It's kind of a shame that ROBOCOP won't be returning...but eh I guess he served his purpose.

...CHLOE was married at some point?!?! Was anybody else as shocked to hear this as I was? Does anyone else have the feeling that ANTI-CHLOE will be back next season? And I'm sorry, but when Chloe was looking at the picture of Edgar at first I was like "Who? ....Oh yeah, that guy." :rofl:

Yeah, please, no more CTU attacks. No more traitors. They've gone to that well EVERY SEASON. If I was Jack and Crew, after S3-ish I would have just made a CTU2, in a hidden location but fully equipped with all the satellite and computer hacks and video feeds they need. The SECOND shit started going down, I'd quietly send all the good people to CTU2 where we could safely run shit while CTU gets bombed/gassed/sold out/TP'ed. ...If I could think of this, why wouldn't Jack?

I'm thrilled AARON lived. He needs to be in S6. TEAM RESCUE JACK - Aaron/Wayne Palmer/The Curtis. Or, if in the interim between seasons Audrey goes through MARINE SURVIVAL TRAINING to get her man back, Aaron/Wayne/Audrey. With CHLOE TECH ASSIST. That would be hot shit.

I also knew that Jack wasn't going to cap PUSSIDENT, somehow I just knew that whole thing in the warehouse was a set-up. They wouldn't have gone through all that trouble just to use a normal laptop set-up and have Jack do a forced interrogation. Still though, check PUSSIDENT'S pants, cause there is NO WAY he didn't piss/shit himself from being alone in an isolated warehouse with a very angry JACK BAUER.

And finally - OH MY GOD, LOOPY SHIRANUI'S SUB-ZERO GLARE AT PUSSIDENT! Jesus Christ, that was legendary. That was Shin Sherry WALL OF INSULTS legendary. I'm shocked PUSSIDENT didn't drop dead on the spot! DIRTY MIKE also got in a good IAGO SMIRK too. That was an awesome scene. ...I too thought that PUSSIDENT was gonna jump in front of the gun salute.

For me, the seasons would go S2 > S3 > S4 > S5 > S1. S5 had some crazy tense moments but I think S4 did a better job of building drama without having to kill off nearly the entire main cast.

I rank season 4 as my favorite mainly because Marwan represented a true terrorist threat, one who was *literally* seconds close to bringing America to it's knees. None of that minor "OMG nerve gas in small building help!!!' more like "OMG every nuclear power plant in America is melting down potentially killing tens of millions!!!" (bless you Edgar. R.I.P.:sad:)

Not to mention that THE MUMMY was found at like the 18th hour and RCed Jack numerous times.

I agree with everyone saying S4 is the second best season. Behrooz wasn't nearly as bad as Kim and his mother made up for his weaknesses.

S4 was also the second season with the most consistent plot, after S2. If season 6 follows suit of the even seasons, then it should be a great season next year.

Nevertheless, I liked how this season ended, although the deaths were unnecessary save Triple P, Edgar and Lynn from a story telling point of view, it still is one of the best series on network TV.

+ THE MASON first turning tail then growing adamantium balls as he flew a nuke into the desert and saved Jack from EMO SUICIDE. The extremely last minute save from a misguided war. Jack's new-found PSYCHO POWERS after the death of his wife. Nina almost getting away with the murder of Jack Bauer. The bombing of CTU, which for it's time was fairly original. Tony starting to come out as more than just that guy who looks at everybody shadily from behind his computer. The sheer mind-numbing possibility of a nuke being detonated in LA. Uncountable TEAM PSYCHO's and the badass Kate Warner.

- The Wacky Misadventures of Kim Bauer, including but not limited to getting mixed up in a domestic violence affair, getting her boyfriend's leg amputated, blabbing to everyone about a nuke in LA, and then playing cute with A MOUNTAIN LION. I dare say Kim was at her stupidest in this season, but the other stuff was so good it more than made up for it.

S3
+ Ramon Salazar was pretty pimp, and IMHO underrated as a 24 villian. Chase kicking ass once he got over his GILLIGAN tendencies. Tony really emerging as a true badass. The crisis in UMBRELLA and the gut-wrenching moments between Tony and Michelle. PREP-TIME SAUNDERS was a worthy foe. Jack nearly sending THE DAUGHTER OF DOOM into UMBRELLA. The execution of CHAPPELLE.EXE. The conclusion of the Nina/Sherry sub-plots. The WALL OF INSULTS was also legendary. Introduction of everyone's favorite QUEEN OF AWKWARD, CHLOE.

- More Kim stupidity, though mercifully scaled back. Ann Packard (Triple P's white ho) and the whole blackmail angle was more or less unnecessary. Chloe/Kim and the baby sub-plot. Triple P deciding not to run for re-election. :sad:

S4
+ For me, I'd say the one consistant highlight was having one steady villain for once who was genious at evading capture. Pound for pound, THE MUMMY MARWAN was probably the greatest terrorist threat to the US (24 universe) to date. Introduction of THE CURTIS. MATLOCK kicking ass and AUDREY being a nice piece of ass. ...NO KIM BAUER WHATSOEVER. CHLOE capping a bitch.

- Having to bring the old cast back slowly to replace the stupid new cast. Berooz and his white ho problems. That dumb black ho that wouldn't leave THE MANNING alone.

S5
+ Having the President be the villian (kind of a neat twist). ROBOCOP Henderson was the first person since Nina to really rile up Jack on a personal level. THE MANNING starting to emerge more.

- Killing off Tony, Michelle, and Edgar for nothing other that shock value. SAMWISE LYNN and the whole CRACK ADDICT SISTER stuff. Taking time away from the "bring down the president!" objective to focus on "get Bierko and his hijacked sub". ...Might have been cool if Henderson had lived to see another season, but I guess with the way S6 is heading he won't fit in.

S1
+ Jack being a badass even back then and occasionally showing previews of his PSYCHO POWER. Palmer's first signs of the DEATH ROCKS OF INTEGRITY. Nina's a traitor....did ANYONE see that coming? Surprise, unexpected ending.

- Random Kim stupidity and the amnesia sub-plot.

Curtis has the Power of Darkness flowing through his veins, and it's cool that bullets fired at him automatically get teleported to Dimension X.. but he isn't that interesting of a character. The subplot between Curtis and 'Shingo Sherry' in Season 4 was just dry.. and then Jack choked him out this season and he never said shit about it again??? Tony would've at least cussed him the fuck out in return.. Curtis beasts on the field and that's it apparently.

What's Wayne Palmer doing for a living? Make him a field agent or something. Wayne With a Gun makes for great TV.

I don't have a lot of time to explain right now, but you're going to have to trust me.

During my years of covert government service, I have gone through hell and back. Yes, I am proud to have served my country, helping to avoid many horrific tragedies. Rules are meant to be followed, but I have a history of insubordination. While the methods I employ may seem harsh, I always have one goal in mind: saving lives. To my friends: I'm sorry for not telling you everything. It's not that I don't trust you, but we are operating on a strict need-to-know basis. But when I'm in a jam, I hope I can count on you. Whether it's illegally hacking passwords of suspected terrorist financiers or keeping your mouth shut about my smack habit, I really appreciate everything. And if you ever find yourself unavoidably chained to a weapon of mass destruction counting down to zero, you know I'm the first one there with an ax. You can even use my belt to stop the bleeding while I radio Division for help. Sorry I can't stick around to accompany you to the emergency room, but there's still work that needs to be done, so get me that chopper. And set up a perimeter right away.

To the ladies: Yes, I'm a single father, widowed. You have to understand, my job takes a heavy toll, and it's hard to maintain a stable relationship. If you don't handle stress very well, my advice to you is this: don't date a field agent. We aren't always around, the hours for my job are highly erratic, and I'm often too tired or traumatized when I get home to make whoopee. Yes, my life seems glamorous and exciting. Yes, I exude a brooding sexiness with my skills in unarmed combat and hostage negotiation. However, if you are forced to spend one whole day and night with me, you may not like everything you see. But damn it, I get results.

To my enemies: If I need information from you, seconds count. So apologies in advance if I have to break your thumbs or threaten to kill your family; I empathize with you. Believe me, I've been tortured plenty of times myself, and I know interrogation ain't no picnic. Please listen to me very carefully: I will DO WHATEVER IT TAKES to stop this assassination/nuclear bomb/horrible karaoke.

yea i caught that, the smile on my face could not have been bigger while reading it....seemingly it won't have that much to do with either season though so they have more freedom with the script....

Well IMO having the movie take place between seasons 6 and 7 is a GREAT way to finish the RoboCop subplot, cause I really don't expect season 6 to show him at all nor bring him up. Knowing 24 creators though, who knows who they will bring back, It's always a surprise.

It will be interesting to see them cram a stand alone plot in under hours, but I am sure they can do it. I just hope they don't cheap out on the budget.

I'm pretty sure, at this point, that the final boss of 24 will be the Patriots in S8 (or S9 if they push it), and I have a feeling that ROBOCOP will turn out to still be alive somehow come that time (it makes no sense to have a scene dedicated to some people wheeling out his corpse). Even if he is dead, though, no one on 24 really dies; they just show report to The Unit.
you really think they can stretch the patriots all the way to season 8? That's a lot of material. I can't see Jack escaping for 2 season from china, b/c you know as soon as he gets back he's looking for them. but who knows, it is the 24 writers.
