I wanted to make ths one simple so the same picture in the front is also the same as the background. I just flipped it and made it a dark purple since I figured it would make Twelve stand out more. I also used the same color and shading on the font, I dunno why I just felt right.

My first try at making an animated sprite. Holy crap, 19kb isn't enough to do anything doods. I had this really awesome idea but had to scrap it due to the limited amount of space. Anyways, since his name is Project Justice, I wanted something to sybolize "Justice". I always think Justice is best after it's been defeated, you know, like in the movie Walker Texas Ranger: Trial By Fire. Cordell Walker get's the crap kicked out of him half way in the movie but in the end when "Justice" is served it's just that much better. The hero over came that which destroyed him. That's kind of why I have that transparent image of a beat up Ryu on the right side. The fact that Ryu is staring at his defeated self represent that he's overcame his faults and weaknesses and is ready to serve up some Justice!

:sweat: I hope they like it. Next I'm going to make Civicman, Krushgroove & D. Figman. Don't expect too much cause I'm still a noob at this doods.

Just adding to this is the "magic wand" selection tool.

Same as Nas says about tolerance 0 and countiguous unchecked but while
doing this keep adding to the selection so you also select many shades of
the same color.

Then adjust colour with the hue/saturation tool in the layers menu.

This makes it easier to get same color gradients to look just right.

There has to be something I'm doing wrong. Because when I preview it and the microsoft viewer comes up. It's moving. In you PM it's moving. I save it and it doesn't move. Like it's only saving one part of the image and not the other. What the best way to save you AV. Then putting it in there.

600kb!? :lol: Thats fucking huge! I wish we could have avs that big:sad: , But no need to worry, theres still some unused space in the second av :). You may not be able to get elena fully animated, but I KNOW you can put that flashing border back in there. Also, try adding a small amount of animation to elena, like just a few frames of her already standing on her hand (loop the part of her shaking). The limit for premium avs is around 48-49kb.

I'm not much of an animator (OC and givequicheachance ussually own in that department) but heres some keys to keeping your av with in limit.
-Color. Every pixel that has a different shade of color takes up more space. The more similar pixels, the more space you have to work with.
-So working with real photos in animation is ussually not a good thing to do, pretty much every pixel with a real photo is slightly different.

I was so stoked when I made it! :sad: Then I realized the size was too big... way too big. So I had to make a watered down version of it to meet the size requirements. So here's the finished version:

So yeah, I figured, KrushGroove. Uhkay, take the letters from the movie "Krush Groove". Then I was like, make it ol skool and have Elena breakin'. So bam it just hit me. Too bad the one I really wanted to make was to big... oh well. Geez, that flashing border with the letter combo was sure to set off some seizures too. I hope you like it KrushGroove... dood.

Next is CivicMan then Paddyhackers... doods.

600kb!? :lol: Thats fucking huge! I wish we could have avs that big:sad: , But no need to worry, theres still some unused space in the second av :). You may not be able to get elena fully animated, but I KNOW you can put that flashing border back in there. Also, try adding a small amount of animation to elena, like just a few frames of her already standing on her hand (loop the part of her shaking). The limit for premium avs is around 48-49kb.

I'm not much of an animator (OC and givequicheachance ussually own in that department) but heres some keys to keeping your av with in limit.
-Color. Every pixel that has a different shade of color takes up more space. The more similar pixels, the more space you have to work with.
-So working with real photos in animation is ussually not a good thing to do, pretty much every pixel with a real photo is slightly different.

Umm, I had some free time and went ahead and made one for my homie Civicman. Uhh... lemme put it this way... I totally suck at sprite coloring... majorly! I tried for about 40 minutes to get the colors right but was making no progress at it. Sorry Civicman... I failed you. Well here's what I came up with:

It also had Yang animations for Yun's SA2, Yun's intro from SF3 Giant attack and various other attacks. Maybe if someone hacked 3rd Strike they could give Yang all those attacks... dood?

Yea thats what i figured, thats cool. Just keep looking for tutorials and always experiment. Always play with blending options after duplicating and blurring a pic. Dont be afraid to use solid colors... Im not sure if you're familiar with it, but vector art is one of my favorites. But yea, if you're serious, just keep experiamenting and checking out tutorials. But obviously don't create a piece based on tutorials, create you're own style.

Coo, I just didnt want to give an unwanted critique lol. But I think the main problem is contrast of colors: there simply isn't enough of it. The colors seem to be pretty bland because of it. I would suggest going to image- contrast in the options (im not sure if thats the right menu) for the akuma picture, and for the background, I think it will look better if you duplicate a layer, do a motion blur going in the same direction of the fire, and then set the blend mode to - overlay.

Also, this part may just be me... but ussually If I cut of a picture, I like to have it facing the the right. When its facing the left, it seems like hes just staring at a wall lol and it especially takes away the effect of him coming out of the av. That might just be my preference though.

Other than that, I think the only way to improve it even more is to do some nice glow affects on akuma to make him look like hes on fire. Smudging works best for this type of affect but its a more advanced technique, I guess (i'm learning it as well). I used it slightly in my current av, but u cant really notice it... try looking at http://www.gamerenders.com/forum/ they seem to have ALOT of smudging tutorials lol (its a forum). But just to let you know... its not the most proffesional site lol, it even has somewhat of a bad rep. But if nothing, you can always find some nice game renders (pictures already cut out).

But nice av, I look forward to the next one!

Have black Twelve in the middle doing his A.X.E. move with white Ken and white Chun Li both being hit by it at the same time on either side of him. With Don Joff written on it somewhere too of course

I've got a lot of really important stuff going on that's taking up all my freetime (hence my sudden dissapearance from the forum). Mainly my Real Estate classes and my therapy sessions are the culprits but also I'm going to be returning to full time status at Fed->Ex very soon.
