Auto is for non-enthusiasts. Alot of people get autos because it's easier, and some get stick because it cost less base price on a new car. For me, it's a prerequisite. Clutchless/SMG's are performance based, and shift faster than humans, but it takes out the driver involvment, which is what performance driving is about.

I am impartial to the color. It's one of those things, like Civic HATCHES, that got popular really later than it's time. At first everyone wanted coupes, now it's hatch, nobody liked Midori Green when it came out, now I have tons of offers on the car because of the rare color. Look at Honda-tech, and search "midori" or "midori green". There is a guy with a Vogue Silver Metallic coupe that wants to trade, and i'm thinking about doing that anyway....then IT will be the AV.

btw: Ferrari Red Civic > Midori Green Civic , it's true colors make the car faster. That's why ferrari's are popular in red.

I would drive a 6 speed Ferrari 360 over a F1 paddle 360?

Or I would drive a 6 speed 360, over even an Enzo, because the Enzo's transmission choice.

Auto is for non-enthusiasts. Alot of people get autos because it's easier, and some get stick because it cost less base price on a new car. For me, it's a prerequisite. Clutchless/SMG's are performance based, and shift faster than humans, but it takes out the driver involvment, which is what performance driving is about.



I can control my RPMs just fine with the throttle pedal, thanks. Also having torque means I don't -need- to stay in a certain RPM band to have fun....

Performance driving isn't about driver involvement, it's about performance. My car is faster than yours, and I'm sure as hell gonna have more fun in it, even though I don't get to push in another pedal and move a stick around. Manual is more fun if you have a shitty beater that you actually go into high RPMs driving it around town... Since I'm not really shifting above 3200 or so in daily driving conditions, having an automatic really doesn't bother me. If I'm racing or tearing up backroads (LOL I'm irresponsible) I'm having enough fun as it is, don't know why moving a stick around is going to make it more fun.... in a straight line manual doesn't mean shit, and in twisties I'm focused on the road, and I can control the car well enough with the two pedals I have. Never ever been in a situation where I've though "My car isn't in the gear I want it to be in."

what do you have in your car that gives you the ability to have 11k rpms as your plate??? if you were into the whole "JDM" thing you wouldnt get custom plates, that shit is tacky and NOT clean.

^^I already had a 94 coupe with a B16 swap. And you are right, how many have hated in here, and take the bus or walk?

And to the other guy, the faster car isn't more fun if its auto, and auto doesn't help until you in a straight line until you have atleast 500 HP. Whatever car you have, I'll run circles around it in a track. Normal auto's shift slow, and are never optimized for performance driving. Some may have a perfomance button, to shift higher, but still that won't help. Race 2 250 HP cars and the manual wins, race 2 600 HP cars, and the auto might win, only in a straight line.

And as far as powerbands are concerned, please don't think I care about bottom end. I love to see the needle at 8 and 9 grand, as much as podssible.

There are also tiptronic sequential shift cars. As far as performance driving goes, you'd actually want an automatic if your car was that fast. But you're not really much of a performance driver if you are settling for a slower car that is stick.

Although I see no difference driving a stick or automatic, I think it's the driver's preference.
Being Asian, and going to a "white" school, people usually think I own some Rice Rocket or am a Master of DDR, but really, I hate people who drive Rice Rockets.

Also, race two 250hp cars and there's 30 fucking variables. Tranny is one, versus suspension, weight, powerband, tires, drive wheels, etc... just because Civics came with shit autos doesn't mean that all autos are worthless.
