Going to be attending college soon, and im going to drop my job at vons soon. any jobs out there that will pay for school, gas, car payments, and others? The Non Pro image is because im tired of having my hair short like most jobs require you to have, i used to have it long and liked it that way, that put viscant to shame. <3
also im thinking of getting some tattoos and everytime i ask my boss if its cool he says naw sorry we cant have anything like that. Anyone know if bestbuy or something you can find anywhere wouldnt really care if such things were allowed? Anyone have a job where your work speaks more than your image?

I don't know if it's your thing, but most manual labor type jobs couldn't care less what you look like.
I work for amazon.com and I have 14 piercings and 4 tattoos. Lots of people that work there have a multitude of visible piercings and tattoos and no one cares.

Try working at the your school or something. They give you some cash and a discount on your tution. It depends on the college though. I've seem some bum-like students working so you have a chance.

let see. best buy. great benefits. and its awesome working there if your GM isn't a huge douche. no piercings, but you can have tons of tattoo's. but makes sure its a level.. uhhh. i think a or 5 or something store. so you'll have a lot of hours. other than that. ups. but i dont think they help with school. i think you have to get a scholarship threw them like kroger or something.
Find a job like delivery for something i dunno, but my friend has 2 pierces in each ear, and a lip ring.
And for tats he has flames running from his forearm down to his wrist, so it's very noticeble, but since he delivers and doesn't have to deal with consumers or customers, then he doesn't need to worry. He also makes 9/hr, which isn't much these days, but for young people it's something.

UPS pays pretty well and doesn't give an ant turd about your appearance
Anything along the lines of automotive you can have your tats and hair. Hell people practically expect us to look like we do.
Best Buy as well, obviously...you can see how the other half lives.
A music store is not the best paying job.....but it's one of the funnest ways to work part time....Spencer, too, for that matter. I used to pick on the girls buying vibrators and dominatrix value packs all damn day.

I don't see what the problem is coming into work stoned wearing your shirt backwards, no tie or suit as long as you get the fucking job done. This applies to any non-salesman/personal job where you don't see customers, and you're doing work out of sight. Who cares what you look like, do ur job and get paid. However, that's not how it is, sadly. Fuck.

do not take this advice...
call centers might appear to pay well, but you really are underpaid and over-stressed at times. If you don't give a fuck, and carry that attitude you'll be fine. :)

best job in the world during school is being a rep. try mosaic.com, they are always hiring. you get paid well, work only weekends, you have no boss to deal with and u just sit around all day until a customer comes.

well, since you want to be a game programmer, the good news is, most companies give ultimate freedom to devs. from microsoft to even the smallest startup, devs can come and go as they please, look like complete shit, and get away with it. of course this depends on the company you work at, but among me and my colleagues, few of us have to worry about our appearance. the bottom line is - get the job done.
this is NOT true at boeing though. my dad's a programmer there and he has a dress code to follow.

Best advice so far.
Really any professional job (ie pays very well isn't random labor that any idiot can do) is going to require you to look semi professional at work. If you want the big bucks, you need to dress for it, and make sure you don't have tats/piercings other blatant marks of "the stupidity of youth" that might cost your ass the job.
Bar tending pays very well if you can work yourself into a high end bar. I'm talking 40 buck single malt scotch, 20 buck martinis. If you can get there you're looking at 1-2 grand a week depending on how much you work. But the hours are horrid. I think I pulled 6pm till 4am working bar and had to give it up becase your grades start falling.
Tending bar tends to be a difficult balancing act. You'll also end up a full blown alcoholic if you aren't carefull since you will be drunk at work.
If you really want to find a job that has full benifits, well you're going to have to suck it up and dress proper and kiss the tats/long hair aside. That said IT jobs are fairly lax because you don't have to interact with many people. It takes about 4 months to get an A+ certification if you have any sort of computer skills, and the starting salary (atleast here) is roughly 35,000. You can bullshit the "do you have 3x years experience part" keep in mind even operationg your own PC counts as experience just make sure you know what you are doing.
Our "night shift" techs make anywhere from 35,000 (basic IT grunts) to 100,000 a year full benifits (includes school and travel), and don't have a dress code because nobody is around at 2am to see what they are wearing.

I worked at as a Data Processor for the IRS (no math involved) during the night shift (cause it paid more). I made $1600 a month (i know they make more now) and was qualified to have full government benefits and I didn't even have to deal with customers! We could listen to our cd players, it was great :D
I miss that job..
