I would like to see Mgl be the first to have Head to head cabs. Mgl has lots of space , so it would make sense if you guys decided to have it.

It would be fun to see (player one) get his ass owned by (player two) and wondered, "who the fuck is on the other side?". Hahahah :lol:

Since we have 2 of each game, we are looking at keeping 1 of each game on a showcase and 1 in a head to head set up. So if you don't like head to head or if you dont like showcase, you'd have the option to pick what style you want to play on.

If everything goes as plan.... the h2h will be 2 US style cab set back-2-back making the players stand on the opposite side of each other... there will be only one set of sticks and buttons on a cab... so when your waiting for your turn... you better put up your coin on the right side 'cause that player might not lose... lol

OK...This is what's up. The first game to be set up H2H is going to be 3rd Strike. Since this is new to managment, they want to try it out on one game to see how it looks and how people respond to it. If it does well then we will add CVS2 and MVC2 as well. We will still keep one of each on a showcase cabinet so that MGL will have both styles to choose from.

We are most likely going to install JoJo's Bizarre Adventure in one of the three empty showcases, which leaves us with two more. I was thinking of getting Tekken Tag in one and some of the other games we already have like possibly Puzzle Fighter or Vampire Savior in the others but we'll see what happens. Maybe you can help us decide. What would you like to see in the other two showcases? Post away...

We've already taken out one of the 3rd Strikes from a big screen and replaced it with Jojo's. That 3rd Strike went into a 27" cab and will be set up for H2H soon. I'll see if I can get them all set up H2H at once thanks to the votes above. Keep those votes coming and youll see H2H at MGL sooner than you think.

I'd say you can just treat it as 1 machine, but they need to put the quarter rack one side or so. Or you CAN put the quarter on either side, but if it's a pro on a 20+ streak on one side, it'll pretty much be the same idea as the first.

Once you guys get head to head, I'm definetely heading down there during the summer.

Imagine an arcade with 10 h2h cabinets lined up in a row. Lets say your waiting for a game (CvS2) in the middle of this row (1p side) and your coin is the only one up on this side. Now on the other side of the row (2p side) there is two more people with there coins up waiting to play. Ok, lets say 2p loses.... you dont walk around to the other side and try to say you were next. By the time you get to the other side someone will of started playing already. You just wait on whatever side you put you coin up on.

But... since MGL only has 1 h2h setup right now (3s) it could be done however the masses want. There isn't 10 h2h cabinets to walk around just to get to 1p or 2p side.

3rd Strike has been set up H2H and is playable as of yesterday. The cabinets are in testing and are not in final form. New sticks and buttons will be added later and the golf arcade will be re-arranged to add the H2H section. CVS2 and MVC2 will join the H2H section in the next few weeks with a possible Puzzle Fighter H2H set up as well. Once again 3rd Strike is H2H and is in its playable testing stages, everything will be finalised in the next few weeks. We encourage you to stop by MGL and give it a test run from now until the finalisations.

I tested out the 3rd strike H2H and it was a fun experienced. 1p side needs competition buttons (I didn't test out 2p side yet). I was playin' against random people that was kickin' my ass! I thought I was playing against a CPU but when this opponent perfect me, I realized it was a human player :rofl:. The 1p side accept tokens for both sides. So if you wanna play on the 2p side, you gotta put token on the 1p first and sit ur ass down on the 2p side before other players thinkin' it was a free game and take it from you.

Pros:

- No distractions from other sides
- Can not listen to buttons or see each others hand movements
- A lot of space to breathe
- It seems like we might be playin' online with no lags
- A lot of fun cus you don't know who's kickin' your ass. It could be the one that you had a 5 games win streak against him/her earlier.
- The players are more focused.
- No holdin' back against friends or beat him/her with the cheapest tactic you could think of and he/she no longer be your friend :rolleyes:

Cons:

- Need to find a solution about who's next and where to put our tokens
- Cabs need new buttons and maybe sticks
- 1p and 2p sides should get a cupholder so players could relax and taste the sweet juice or tea of victory :china:

IMHO, I think H2H was a great success. I'm lookin' forward to actually enter tournies on H2H cabs. I think it will be kinda crazy! :lovin:

I was there for a minute to check out the h2h cabs.. nice setup indeed.. besides what obviously needs work(buttons,sticks,monitor), i think it will be a huge success.. congrats joe on getting it done!

Joe Le posted a few posts back about this topic. Once the H2H section is lined up your just going to have to put your token up on one side and wait for that sides person to lose. The best way to do it would be to wait on the side where you think that person has the least chance of winning lol.

The parts have been ordered and will be replaced as soon as they get in. New 360s and competition buttons are on the way. Also theres an option to only credit the side your on so no stealing of credits will happen, I'll have that fixed in the finalisations

I just came back from LA, and while I was playing at FFA, it was pretty much what Joe Le had said.

Some of the cats there put their quarters on both machines, but it was such a hassle watching them foo's walking back and forth guessin who's gonna lose and shit. Anyways, I don't see any other solution to the token issue.

Yea the 1P side stick sucks and the buttons on both sides are concaved. The techs only there 1 day a week so it takes longer to handle certain issues when another one pops up with more priority. This week he installed Soul Calibur III so I can see why anything else hasn't been fixed. I'll stress the issue of the H2H control panels this weekend.
