With Hollywood's new tbandwagon of comic movies, do you feel studio are just making them w/o knowing really what their about. With the really bad word of mouth of X3 and mixed reaction on SupermanReturns, I'm wondering if the comic movie will burn out in the next 2-3 years.
Next year, there are at least 5 comic based movies
TMNT
Transformers
Ghost rider
Fantastic Four(rushed put the door in true Fox fashion)
Spider-man 3
And after that, Iron Man, Wolvy, MAgneto, CaptainAmerica, WonderWoman,etc...
Are you happy with this breakneck fast-track or would you rather it slow down?

I'd say it's the uneccessary movies I'm not happy about. (Daredevil, Elektra, Ghost Rider) that perhaps I'm ticked about. But as long as people like us go see them, they will keep making.

Well quite recently we had:
V for Vendetta
A History of Violence
Constantine (aka Hellblazer)
Batman Begins
Sin City
F4
Elektra
Blade 3
and yes the aforementioned X3 and Supes movie, I guess you can say that. But what can you do, Hollywood has run out of ideas / foreign movies to rip off / movies to remake and the people who pretty much run everything now grew up with comic books (Raimi, Singer, etc.), so it's only natural that they want to see them on the big screen.
So you pretty much take the good with the bad, or just take the good without the bad or something.

WTF, there's ANOTHER F4 movie?
EDIT: WTFBBQ, it's real or something: http://imdb.com/title/tt0486576/

In the 80s you had all the original Superman movies followed by the Batman movies in the late 80s to early 90s, and there were other comic based movies as well. Yeah, it seems like there's probably more now, but this isn't anything new.
I just see this as another point in the cycle. Comic based movies will burn themselves out, but they'll come back again a couple of years down the road.

Man, they can't outdo the TMNT movies. They just can't. Ernie Reyes Jr for goodness sake.

Lots of them have been bad lately. :(

The funny thing is that I was hoping they would make the first movie along the lines of the Ultimate series. Meh.
Batman Begins 2: http://imdb.com/title/tt0468569/ Now this I have better hope for. And I'm not even that much of a DC fan.

There's going to be another TMNT movie? Are you fucking kidding me?
OOHHHHHh shiiitttt.
I don't know if that really makes me happy or not though. I don't wanna see the turtle in shitty CGI a'la The Hulk, I think I'd be more comfortable with guys in suits. That might not fly in this day and age though. : <
The only other comic book movie I want to see at this point from the above is Spider-Man III, and that's soley for Venom finally making an appearance. As for some of the others, I don't know if they really have the fanbase to warrant a major motion picture (Ghostrider?). I wouldn't really mind seeing them if they were actually well done, but I don't have the feeling they'll be especially well-crafted pieces of film.

I'd rather see sub-par comic book movies than:
Tv shows made into movies
Remakes
Foreign film remakes
Relationship Comedies
Anything by Uwe Boll

i guess it's easier to make a movie when the story's already been written, costumes have already been designed, and there's enough material to make 10+ films off of one series.

Most comic book movies have been shit. X2, Sin City, and V for Vendetta were the only good ones.
Everything else just sucks. I just came back from X3, that was so boring that I found myself thinking of ways I could suck my own cock.

Mags has got his own movie?
Wolverine's movie better have one or all of the following:
Sabretooth
Omega Red
Deadpool
Since Gambit was refused in the mainstream X movies, maybe he can get a minor role in this one.

The only good ones are the ones that aren't traditional superhero junk. Ghost World, Sin City, and A History of Violence were the best ones lately. The thing about the superhero movies, like Spiderman 2, while they are pretty solid, they really don't have anything special. There's no reason to watch them more than once, but the fanboys just eat them up.

I kinda touched upon some things in my review of X3 (-http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3152075&postcount=58[/url), but then again I love The Hulk movie so my opinion is pretty biased.
But I think the most apt comparison is comic book movies in some way should be treated like comic book themselves. The better the writer and the better the artist/director, the better the comic/movie. I think that's is the inherent problem with a lot of these films, they thing the material itself would carry the movie. Whether it be a direct transfer of the dialogue, the powers (or story) of the comic book, or just the characters themselves; I feel that most producers feel that if it envokes the comic book feel...as opposed actually becoming the comic book, then it works.
The problem is that films should be produced as films. Like the comic book artist, the director should take the character...and make it their own without straying too far from the original concept. It's that ability that should be considered first with any comic book adaption because otherwise...what's stopping directors from making just what they want and slapping on Comic Book Title Here on it? Just give it your style, not your own fanficish ideas about it all.
I guess that's the thing though, it's quite hard to make an adapted work into a film because it does sometimes tread too far into a territory that makes the film seemed inspired by this comic as opposed to adapted from this comic.

Ghost Rider actually looks good.
And comics to movies is fucking pimp. You know that it isn't going to be the same, and therefore that's why you'll enjoy it already because it is familiar.

What Crimzonflame said. All these comic movies are fucking awful and we'll see how terrible they were 10 years down the line I think. I still believe that the majority of superhero comics don't translate to the big screen without seriously compromising the original material or just looking like ass on film. Out of all the comic movies put out this decade, I only have Road to Perdition in my movie collection.
My other problem is with the trend of constantly adapting literary works, like LotR, Harry Potter, Narnia etc.. take for instance The Matrix, which (ignoring the controversy over the W Bros talent and who/what they ripped off) was a goddamn original and groundbreaking concept for Hollywood. There are other examples of original, made-for-film franchises like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Aliens, etc. that really add something new to popculture. Taking a story from a comic book or novel and putting it on film doesn't break new ground for movies, especially since there's barely any room for creative license. It's the difference between retelling a story from a novel, and actually writing a new novel. One is a redundant act and the other is progressive.
That's my problem with this decade in general.. there's no innovation anywhere in entertainment really. It just feels like a remix of the 90s but with more political bullshit.

A Ghost Rider movie is coming out in the near future as well. I dont think there is too many, but DC needs to catch up with marvel and makes some entertaining movies from other characters besides batman and superman.

Lol, it depends on which one we are talking about? Superfriends version would get you the answer of Hell no. Justice League Unlimited version isnt all that bad.
Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, The Question, and Flash. There might be a few more with compelling to make into a movie worth watching, but for now this is all I can come up with.
