Looks weird. Not saying it looks bad. But the advance poster just looks weird. I guess its because I'm so used to the cartoon already that a 3D live version is just out there for me.

Although, it does need Lion to do the theme song again. Without that, the movie will feel incomplete.

Review of leaked script to Michael Bay's upcoming robofest mentions a transforming Xbox 360.

Unfortunately, Mulletron will not be in the Transformers film.

If reports from the Web are any indication, the upcoming Transformers movie is taking a few liberties with the classic toys to give it a modern feel. (Editor's note: Possible spoilers ahead--read with caution.)

Bumblebee, known classically as a yellow Volkswagen Beetle, is being supped-up as a canary-colored Camaro. Megatron, the Decepticon leader who transformed into a powerful gun, may take the alternate form of an alien ship in the movie. And Soundwave, everyone's favorite boombox, may be scrapped in favor of the CD-slinging Soundbyte.

Robert Sanchez, editor of The Movie Reporter, a Web site that covers entertainment, claims to have gotten his hands on the film's script and reveals a few more new Transformers that may make it into the movie.

"I almost forgot to mention one of the most stupid scenes in the script," he writes on the site. "For reasons that I won't get into, we see an iPod, Xbox 360, and plasma screens sprout legs and transform just a bit." It's unclear whether the Xbox 360 Transformer is an Autobot or Decepticon.

For more information on the movie, check out the film's teaser Web site, which went live today. Activision is currently developing Transformers games for unspecified consoles and handhelds.

LOL. that brings back childhood memories. i was checking out the intros and it sucks that the seasons that had intros 3 and 4 didn't show back in the Philippines. that said, they did air the shows that had intros 12-14 there though, and they were awesome. Japanese animation just put the Transformers on another level. there's one (or maybe more) show/s they didn't have in there. it's one of the Japanese shows that takes place somewhat after the Powermaster saga. Optimus was dead again, but his spirit or spark (or whatever you wanna call it) lived on and became Victory Leo---a badass triple changer who didn't talk much LOL. the Autobot leader for that "saga" was called Star Sabre.

also, i was checking out the voices and Corey Burton, the voice of Soundwave (among others) seemed really familiar. i thought for a bit and i realized that hey, he also voiced Brainiac in the Superman animated series as well as the Justice League shows!

Well it does all have to do with licenses.. the main license in this movie is Chevrolet, so all the cars will be Chevy's.

I don't like the licensing decision.. for authenticity, they could've just used some modified cars and removed the logos like they did in the Fast/Furious series. But the producers said upfront that they're more worried about making the concept work in real life (no several stories-tall, multi-ton robots transforming into little guns) than mirroring the G1 cartoon. Best case scenario is the movie will be like the X-Men films where everybody's redesigned for film but the personalities are the same.

I'll be honest, this movie sounds very iffy.. but they're directly fucking with my childhood so I just want it to be great.

This is a really stupid reason, considering not all of the vehicles used are Volkswagen (or even German make) cars.

Though then again, I *suppose* it's understandable, seeing as Bumblebee in the G1 cartoons was a VERY obvious, distinguishable car, even without the Volkswagen logo.

If that's REALLY the case, then we can definitely kiss Soundwave goodbye. :sad: The casette robots were still relatively huge (like Rumble and Frenzy, for instance), and they transform into something proportionally smaller (a casette tape). It's really implausible at this point EVEN IF you make Soundwave as a CD player, because how can something as THIN as a CD "transform" into something else? How is that going to be manufactured as a toy, even?

Soundwave would have to be redesigned into something else... maybe into a Sony PSP or a Nintendo DS, or something. :rofl: And at that point, he'd have to be renamed into something else, as well, because "Soundwave" wouldn't make sense as a PSP.

bumblebee not being a bug was as much of a creative decision as anything. if you didnt know, he doesnt talk in the film but instead uses his radio dial and swings his doors n stuff. if he was a bug there would be comparisons to herbie
