Shit looks fucken BEAST.
MarkyMark, Joker, Bourne, Titanic, everything.

Edit- Scorsese CAN'T fuck this up. Maybe Leo though..

Damn, I was a fan of the original Chinese film but this actually looks better. They better have a seen that takes a place in an electronics shop.

Maybe cause I'm Chinese myself and from Hong Kong, but IMO the original one looks way way way more interesting. [trailer wise]

I saw the original Internal Affairs and was blown away by just how dull it was. Not sure if I'll catch the Departed.

lets hope not.what does this mean? were IA2 and 3 bad or are you saying white people can't make a good adaptation of an asian film

and i just saw IA and how the fuck could anyone say this movie was dull? it was a great thriller.

From what my friend told me, IA2 and 3 got the story waaaaaaay too complex.

The first IA was amazing, one of the few movies I could watch over and over again. While this looks good, like someone said, Lau and Leung will be hard to beat.

EDIT: Where's the rooftop scene?

Man, I just watched IA for the first time last night and I loved it. I ordered 2 and 3 immediately. Probably not as good, but oh well. I'm interested to see what they do with this movie in The Departed.

i watched half of the original, was falling asleep so needed to stop, i was very interested in it though i was mashed thats why i quit

was surprised to see eric tsang as a straight bad guy though, normally see him in jackie and sammo films being the joker with the high pitched voice and the baby of the group.

interesting film though, should of bought it when i was at HMV today

edit: so jack nicholson is playing eric tsangs part? it weirdly makes sense  it looks ok, leonardo always picks good films so it should be good

I love the original so I'm gonna end up catching this. I don't expect it to be better though.

Although I like the first movie the most, I feel that 2 and 3 are great movies as well and watching the movies in order brings the story in full circle.

Infernal Affairs- The main story.
Infernal Affairs 2- The events years before IA1.
Infernal Affairs 3- A few months before and after IA1.

As for the roles of each character in The Departed and the Infernal Affairs equivalent, from what I know it goes somthing like this:

Chen Wing Yan (Tony Leung Chui Wai)= Billy Costigan (DiCaprio)
Lau Kin Ming (Andy Lau Tak Wah)= Colin Sullivan (Damon)
SP Wong (Anthony Wong Chau Sang)= Dignam (Mark Wahlberg)
Hon Sam (Eric Tsang Chi Wai)= Frank Costello (Nicholson)

I just got back from seeing this movie, takes a typical story, beefs it up with great dialogue and awesome pacing. Usually movies that are this long bore the shit out of me, but I was entertained because the characters were always doing something, not a whole bunch characters staring at each other trying to be deep. Combine that with good old fashioned violence and this movie = WIN. Oh yeah, I've never seen IA, so I cannot comment on how true it is to that.
