Parasite Eve 1+2

I got this game a few months ago, and I'm still enjoying it. This is really a great game and I can't believe that I missed it the first time around....shame on me. Game has a great story, good music and a nice mixture of action while still being RPG-ish...

Anyway thoughts? I haven't played PE2 yet so I don't know how it is yet. To be honest, this game is actually kinda scary...albeit suspenseful...

loved the first one, but the 2nd left much to be desired. Best thing in the game is the soudntrack.

Yeah, the first one was awsome. Final boss took way too long to kill but overall it was great. When it came out it was extremely impressive. This was back when Squaresoft was god. I liked part 2 but it's far more of an action game and the respawning enemies killed it for me.

To me, PE1 was better than anything that S-E made that was not FF for the simple fact that it was a "sleeper" hit.

PE 2 was an extreme dissapointment.

They might as well call it PE in tha hood edition. Everything was dumbed down and they gave her a Huge ass and tried to make her more ghetto.

You people are crazy. PE2 was far superior to PE, since it moved to a more RE-like engine rather than PE's ridiculously repetitive battle engine. Did you guys actually have fun ATBing huge rats one thousand times in a row? Ridiculous.

Didn't get to play PE 2 yet, but hey, PE was around when E.A and Square released some of the FF mother's most prominent titles. One was Eve, which was a good way to tell a horror tale differently. Coincidentally, the game was created around the work era(late 90s) of the industry and near the releases of the RE's.The game was based off of a novel, correct?

Brya was cool, especially when the rest of the opera combusted into flames. The game's weapon customization was a good point, but it got to outrageous when you realized that nearly ANYTHING could be modified, including a baton, which struck me the most. The only melee weapon in the entire game that was the worst weapon in the game, used to add a flame effect. Action-wise, the game was just as good with the battle system that had a primary foundation used later for Vagrant Story, but a majority of that I'd avoid since you're dealing with guns, mutations, and creatures in opposed to soldiers, monsters, mideval weaponry, and dragons. Unlike the other classic, the monsters made good grinding practice and were not as infrequent.

The game went into some high tier theorectical DNA highlights that confused the daylights out of me. The same thing that turns me off when it comes down to Ghost In The Shell. Guess it wanted a story that made alot of sense and a cast that wasn't totally "american".

I love Parasite Eve to death. Very good game. Great atmosphere.

Parasite Eve 2 seemed to degenerate into an RE rip-off shitfest though, which was peculiar considering the first one wasn't that way at all. But it basically ruined the game. I didn't like the new system for her special abilities or the new controls, or anything really. Seemed like the kind of game that really just didn't need a sequel, especially if they were going to totally half-ass it. : /

Seriously, PE2 was god awful game.

Man, I fuckin' loved part 1.
That shit had some good music, gameplay and a crazy story to go with it. The intro is still badass even compared to the RPGs today.

Parasite Eve was one of my favorite games on the original Playstation. I really like the style of it. I still have them both, and recently started playing through the first one again. It's amazing how well the game holds up even now imo. I enjoyed part 1 more, but I still thought 2 was good also.

PE1 had better presentation but the gameplay wasnt as fun.

PE2's gameplay is simply awesome. It combines both rpg elements and resident evil elements in one. torching monsters with the pyke > everything else.
