It is a fully working arcade panel. The panel is from a SEGA Megalo50 cab, that my uncle has a couple old ones. Wood box with Sanwa JLF and OBSN. Plays like a dream. I might be selling it, depending how the response is to it.

Looks good, paint job looks a little ruff though. No offence.
I love the size, shape.

Yea, none taken. The heat jumped up too 100+degrees here for like a week and paint really wouldn't settle right.

Humidity is a problem here, lacquer blushes so easy.

Has a lot of room for handrest on the stick end of it. Although the stick and buttons are kind of closer than normal. I'm guessing thats how Japanese cabs are as well? Other than that, its spiffy. Should have gone for blue buttons and balltop. But thats just me. Very nice.

The plexi looks cracked.

Mikei

There is no plexi. It is full steel panel. With laminate on top. Remeber now, This is an actual arcade panel with a custom box built around it.

The plexi looks cracked.

Its from a megalo panel. megalos are huge with a massive monitor which is separate from the controls.
The metal panel has been taken straight from the controls.

New case design called "Convertible Top". Easy acess to the parts and never have to unscrew anything. It's wired up for the Xbox360 and it plays great. In the mail to DECOY as of 2pm today.

Thats the beta pic, while I was still figuring out the ground relay system. Wiring is bit messy, but everything is nicely set and not moving. Best part about my new case design is that you can just pop open the top and stick the cord inside for traveling.

I got my stick from Mikei a few days ago and I gotta say I was impressed on how sturdy and well built it was. It's small and compact and very strong. I've been playing HF on the 360 with it and so far it's been great. A HUGE improvement of the 360 pads. The flip top is terrific for easy access to the stick components.

If anyone would like to give Mikei some business I would recommend him without question. He's a good guy and he keeps you up-to-date on the status of the order. Also did not have to wait very long for my stick.

Thanks for your hard work Mikei. It is much appreciated!

Are you still making these? I'm interested in buying. I like that Chibi-Ryu artwork. How much would it cost to build one for the 360 and have it shipped to Charlotte, NC?

Mikei

100$ + plus shipping which is like 10$. It can be yours by next week.

Cool! The buttons could be closer together on those last ones however. Just my preference of course, but the closer the buttons are the better.

Like the SF:AC stick's button style.

Hey Mikei, nice stick, but why did you left the cable at front of it? I think you could just rotate the PCB so the cable will be facing the back

Mikei
05-19-2007, 04:02 PM
Just the way I do the flip top cases, cord in the front.

What Dreamcast PCB are you using??

Mikei

1st party controller. They're easier to find out here than the madkatz ones.

Really you're using an official pad PCB??

Do you note some lag with L/R??

Cuz I'm so afraid of hacking mine and having lag issues ...

Mikei
05-19-2007, 09:17 PM
I can't feel the lag, I was painting the fences with ease whilst testing the stick earlier. I don't know, I guess it will throw off some people but I honestly don't even notice it.

Try doing gief's lariat. You will notice you miss it alot when using the triggers (do it with one regular button and one of the triggers/analogs. Hope that doesn't ruin the experience for ya. I played happily for a couple days, then started playing gief a bit and I noticed it. All I can say is don't waste your time padhacking an official dc controller. It will bug you. Interestingly, it makes blanka's electricity rc pretty easy to do. You can roll the first three punches, then basically hit short, jab and fierce (on the analog) simultaneously and it will come out as an rc due to the slight lag. Anyway, that's obviously not something you want to get used to, so save yourself some grief and don't padhack an official dc controller.

My problem is that here (Chile) I can't find any 3rd party controller...

So I'm expecting that the Universal PCB will have soon DC compatibility! :D

Hey buddy, I've been building joysticks for about 8 years now, and every time I do dreamcast controllers, I usually use 1st party controllers. Now as you stated, you have a hard time working with them because of the lag. However, I do play Zangief in cvs2/ST and I can do lariat and the multi headbutt CC just fine. So it really isn't any grief for me or my friend who I built it for, however if you ever order a joystick from me I'll be sure to use a 3rd party controller. :wgrin:

Hey Mikei, what's your method to hack a 1st party DC PCB?

Mikei
05-20-2007, 12:52 PM
for the triggers I just read down the PCB and find a new contact. I have a very fine point soldering iron so I just solder on these places for the L & R connect.

http://i19.tinypic.com/4tq87co.jpg

http://i16.tinypic.com/68co64h.jpg

for the R22, I would not suggest using 20 gauge wire. Try a smaller wire. Just be very careful, too much heat and it will fry.

mikei, about the cord coming out the front of the box do people just have it loop around the side of the box? or do you include a groove on the bottom side so it can run along the bottom like dreamcast controllers do

Well usually everyone just sits it in their lap, so the cord just dangles between their legs. I can start routing a groove in the box to do the dreamcast thing, that would be pretty nifty.
