Ok I know I’m always the wise cracking tough talking SRKer but this shit has me seriously freaked out. Also I normally don’t make these kinds of threads but fuck I’m pretty scared about this shit.

I went to Japan and China for vacation and to visit some family over in Shanghai. As some of you know me and my wife have been trying to have a baby for about a year and have had 0 luck. Her Mother and Father suggested that while we were in Shanghai we should go to a hospital there that has many famous doctors there to have the both of us checked out. So we go there and they examine my wife then they ask me to do a sperm test. I do the deed and continue on with my vacation as planed.

Well the day before we leave we get the results of the tests back. My wife’s body temperature is lower than normal and that might be causing a problem. My sperm count came back really good but there is a problem. From the tests they did they think there is something wrong with my prostate and that it might be serious. I tried to find out what the fuck the mean by serious. They told me it was inflamed and it there may be other problems. They said I need to get it checked out again in the states. I have an appointment in about 1 month (after fighting with my Insurance to see a specialist. Fucking work HMO) and I’m a bit worried now. I have some Chinese medicine I’m taking but I also know one of the pills is to prevent cancer.

Needless to say I am a bit shocked, worried and very freaked out about this shit right now. I’m only 31, I work out, eat right, and I am just barely getting started and I already have a prostate problem and maybe cancer. Fuck guys I’m not sure what to even do. I still have so much I want to do. I still have a store and an Empire to build, I still want to have a kid, I want to grow old with my wife, see our kids grow up and have kids of their own. Hell I would love to see the day there are flying cars. But I also know this kind of thing is usually fatal if it comes back that I do have it after all.

I know this is not normally an SRK topic but I’ve never had to deal with this before and I don’t have any idea where to turn. I put on a brave face in front of my wife and friends about this but inside I’m scared shitless. I really don’t know what to do and I am just hoping I am getting worked up over nothing.

Has anyone had friends or family in a similar situation? How did they handle it?

As mentioned before if you have Cancer it can be healed if detected early so get your ass ready for exam, and be ready for the good and the bad.

dont know what your cancer is but from my experience my mom had breast cancer......she had to go to kemo theorpy (however you spell it). I wouldnt worry about it too much though.....you dont know yet....just live as you normally would and when you go to the doctor after you find out the results go from there.....If you get cancer(hopefully you dont) its not the end of the world......yeah my mom died from it......but she lived for a long time (years) when she first found out....it returned and then she died...only because she was smoking since teens and her heart couldnt withstand the treatment.

Check your genetics, that will be the BIGGEST factor in this. Is there a history of Prostate cancer in your family? (Dad, Granddad, or Uncle had/died of it?)

Also what's the "generic name" (not the brand name) of the drug you are taking?

If you want to make sure you can still have kids in the future, you can save your sperm. There are labs that do that like for guys who get vasectomies, I'm sure you can arrange some sort of sperm preservation if you tell them your concerns.

You probably have a prostate infection. Its pretty common among 25-35 year old males. Most people dont relize they have one until their immunities are down and then start to feel the symptoms which are similar to kidney and urinary track infections. If it was cancer I think you semen would be wack and low.

not saying its cancer, but my father had prostate cancer 2 years ago, and his last 2 test have come out 100% clean...the key to cancer is catch it early...but most liekly its something else...

But even if it is...if your urine is fine then that means it's still very early and can easily be treated. Prostate cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer.

Well, since you've caught it earlier, as long as you get it treated then it shouldn't be anything too serious, but if you leave it alone then once it gets the final stages it will be bad. So just get a check up. You should be okay. Good luck..

There are different types of Tomatoes, as obvious as that sounds..

As repeatedly stated here early stages even if it is cancer is usually very treatable. You should feel lucky to have caught it so early and if it isnt cancer then great.

Try not to worry too much and if you feel real stressed definately ask for support from your family and friends. Dont be too proud to ask for support. Medically, individuals always heal better and faster with strong emotional support. Good luck!
