I couldn't find the old thread when I searched... at least I think we had an old thread?
Anyway, did anyone catch the premiere? It was awesome. It wasn't the best show, but there were a lot of "are they allowed to do/say that on television?" moments.
Michael calling people "faggy"... I've never heard that before.
"'Gay' used to mean 'lame' when I was growing up."
Jim works with some hot girls in corporate, and the jello moment was gold.
And... the kiss... awkward and hilarious.

We have a trailer for it here in the UK... Was the pilot where he says "Now you must treat everyone like the race that's on your forehead..... Welcome to my convenience store...[/pakistan]"
It airs here on saturday...

us version BLOWS compared to the original. it's still a funny show, but after watching the original, it's hard for me to not think the us one is just a fake.
just have to take it in it's own right i guess.
at least they didn't like call it "co-workers" or some shit and try to pass it off as an original idea.....

I think that one was from the 1st season, the 2nd episode: "Diversity Day". That was a fantastic episode. If you're just getting the first season, a lot of it is based exactly on the UK version. The second season is where it hits its stride.

Jim's new co-worker going ballistic over the jello was hilarious.
The writing it smart with the little things. Pam sees a funny and naturally turns to look for Jim but it's Ryan going "what are you doing?" Little things like that are what make this writing truly great.

Shit, I have seen a couple of the last episodes of season two...
It was good shit, but I don't get why people say that shit blows the US version out the water. It was more realistic, but the jokes with boss 'David' were painful to watch sometimes because they would run how unhip and pathetic was strainght into the ground. Shit I got up and walked out because I felt that 'David' should be put down. Micheal at least has a a stupid charm, the British guy just made me wish I could mercy kill that dumb shit.
The pervert guy, Tim I think, that was somewhat the basis for Dwight is the funniest thing on the show.

I don't understand people who say the American version sucks so hard in comparison. The UK version is funny, and it was first, ok we get it. Now, can we move on and appreciate the US version?
For me, this is one of those rare shows that I can watch over and over, I watch past episodes randomly when I need a quick laugh. The Dundies? Oh god. Michael being the MC just kills me. It seems like every actor is just so on point with their character every episode, and thats what makes it for me.

i love the office as well, but my old thread got mod deleted so i thought no one cared so i didn't bother. but anways, this season is on a huge fucking roll. I believe Andy is almost at dwight status.
andy + dwight together in any scene >>>>> anything ever put on tv.
anyone catch the last 2min of 2 weeks ago when dwight and andy argue in the elevator? that needs a youtube clip, i have it saved so ill prolly up it tommorow.
anways, the way andy talks and acts, he is the perfect actor for that part. someone already mentioned it but that scene with
"did you check the vending machine?"
ohh, the vending machine, i checked the fax and then the copier, the vending machine was my next guess.
''well, did you check your.... butt?''
too good. also, you gotta love it when he says his gameplay before he mights micheal, he mimics everything he does and says the same things back! and micheal is all like, i like andy, hes my #2.
but the greatest episode ever aired is the dwalli episode, micheal tells his date thats its a costume party. my greatest laughter was....
"So Ryan, youre saving your money for you family in the future?"
orrrr, I was planning to travel.... and an xbox'
omg, i had to pause and rewind like 3 times. the look on there faces, priceless
edit:
Actually, Jim put Andy's stapler in Jello like the first day he was there. But I'm with you, Dwight's reactions are way better.

woah i thought no one here liked the office either since i've never seen a thread for the office. By far one of my favorite shows ever.
I watched all of the UK version and when i watched the first season of the US show, i hated it to death. Then i casually watched episodes of the second season cause my name is earl was on right before. Now i understand and appreciate it. It's completely different show from season 2 on. I went back and watched season 1 and it's gets better cause u feel more attached to the characters now.
One scene that had me cracking for a while was when Jim sends Dwight Faxes from Futur Dwight. HAHA that shit was hilarious. And i want to say Andy > Dwight but time will tell. They're both fucking hilarious. I love this show!
BTW- if you like this show, check out this show on CBS called "How i met your mother". I think these 2 are my favorite shows on tv besides heroes and lost.

Speaking of "that tanned girl" (not the Indian chick), I just saw her, Rashida Jones, being interviewed by Conan on my DVR. I had no idea she was Quincy Jones's daughter. Now I feel like announcing to the world I am infatuated with a black woman. The last time I thought a black chick was really hot I was 12 or 13 years old, and it was the singer Monica. She had that popular song with Brandy called The Boy Is Mine.

it wasn't the best episode there, but i'm just glad there was a new one. by the way, pam crying seemed a bit out of her character. i know she likes jim but i think crying is a bit excessive to show how she feels.
anyways, i got a few questions...
did jim ever go to australia? he said he would and everything, but he switched to stanford around the time he was supposed to go.
did oscar leave? he said he was planning on quitting, but then he got that really long paid vacation time. never knew what happened to him after that.

Hmm Dwight was way more out of character than Pam, Pam did exactly what I expected she'd do.
The Office is one of the best shows on tv right now. I'm also watching the UK version, and they're very different. Tim(Jim) is more whiny than Jim, and Dawn is way hotter than Pam (even the character, Pam is very plain jane). Also Rickey Gervais and Chris Finch are SOOOO much more annoying than Steve Carrell and Packer. The episodes are all different, and all good.
I have to say though, I infinitely prefer the Jim + Pam thing then the Dawn + Tim story.

Last night's episode was pretty good. Directed by Joss Whedon, so I guess it had to have a little something with vampires. The Pam/Roy/Jim/Karen thing seems to be getting worse. Like, at the beginning of the season, Roy seems to be this guy who wants to change for the better to be with Pam, but now that he's back with her, its like they wrote him to be a douche again, "So, I come here with my brother and nobody from work is here... pretty cool, huh?" I mean, I know everyone wants Pam and Jim together, but they could've made the resurfacing of the douchiness a little more subtle. And although Karen is hot, I think Pam is a better character.

02-16-2007, 09:31 AM
Last night's episode was GREAT! I loved Steve Carell's presentation! Even though it was probably something to be laughed at in reality, heck, if I was in that audience, I would've applauded him. I'd GLAD he put Ryan in his place. The guy never made ONE sale, and he crunches all these numbers and does analysis and everything... not ONE sale yet, while all the others around him in the office make sales regularly. Those business students... think they know everything about the business world from what they read in books, yet no experience... Michael was telling it like it is.
I'm not really a fan of the whole Jim and Pam thing. I don't care much for it, and those fans that watch it purely for that and always try to overanalyze things trying to point out every Jim and Pam moment and bash on Karen and Roy and everything and will feel all sad and depressed to the point it ruins their day if Jim and Pam don't end up together... yeesh. It's a TV show!

Dwight, today someone poisons the coffee. Do not drink the coffee, I repeat, do not drink the coffee.

Dwight: Jim, could you please inform Andy Bernard that he is being shunned?
Jim: Andy, Dwight says welcome back, and he could use a hug.
Dwight: Okay, tell him that that’s not true.
Jim: Dwight says that he actually doesn’t know one single fact about bear attacks.
Dwight: Okay, no, Jim, tell him bears can climb faster than they can run. Jim! Tell him!

oh, another thing about the episode about the salary. it's great how they finally addressed how much michael makes compared to the other employees. he'd periodically say something along the lines of how he makes SO MUCH more than they do. it's great to finally resolve that matter.
by the way, it shouldn't be more than ~60k/year in my opinion. if you watch the halloween episode, michael refers to saving their branch 50K since he needs to fire somebody. if he makes more than others, i'm guessing around 60k

"The Office" video game for Nintendo DS, PSP, and mobile phones in development. (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/20/the-office-video-game-sounds-easy-thats-what-she-said/)
Also, rumors of a Dwight Schrute spin-off (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,281040,00.html). I'd only be okay with it if he was still on The Office as well.

I dunno why Jim left Karen either and I'm also sort of sick of all those Office fans that obsess over the show thinking it's only "The Jim and Pam Show", ahhh, drives me up the wall. Then when people compare Pam and Karen, everyone says Pam wins because of all the girl next door stuff and all that... oh fuck that. Karen fucking plays Call of Duty and even did the double devil horns hand salute while saying it. That did it for me and I don't even play Call of Duty.

Screw you guys. Karen was hot but she got really annoying. She was a terrible girlfriend, "I already made plans to meet up with some friends while you have your job interview, even though you drove me here and you waited during mine." That's why she got left in New York.

Not to mention being crazy jealous of Pam right from the start.
With the whole Jim and Pam thing being sort of resolved, I don't know where the tension/drama is going to come from. As much as it's stupid for people to obsess over it like a soap opera, the romance thing adds a little bit of "comic relief" (for lack of a better term) to the usual jokes in the show. Not to mention it's easier to write a cliched romance than it is to write actual funny jokes. And I'm sure a lot of people identify with their scenario too (okay, maybe just me) and it draws them into the show more.
That being said, I'd smash all the bitches on the show. Yes, even Phyllis. Okay, not Phyllis... or Meredith.

I am so totally and utterly in love with pam. Like not even like i want to do her (but i seriously would) i have like fantasies of taking care of her while shes sick, making her breakfast in bed, Slow dancing with her during our senior prom.
I have so many of these kind of fantasies they are starting to become memories. I kind of feel silly sometimes when i think about her because i know she isnt real, but when i watch the office i remember my forgotten memories, why she is so important to me and why i love her. I can even tell you what she smells like, she smells like snuggle fabric sofener spring blush. I dunno, maybe im just crazy i guess.

One word that sums up this episode:
...Jim.
He was on fire. Opened fire. Released fire. It was everything that he did in the first few seasons kicked up to the max. The optimism, the sarcasm, the fourth wall breaking, the boyish bashfulness. Done deal. It's like Pam was the Rita's wand that made him grow. It was what Chun Li was to A2. Jim just did it. He's such a breakout character. Season 4 looks promising.
Hopefully, Jim will have to defeat his records to qualify.
Major pranks, generally important to the plot, are in boldface.
Encased Dwight's stapler in Jell-O (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelatin_dessert). ("Pilot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilot_%28The_Office_episode%29)")

Paid coworkers five dollars to call Dwight "Dwayne" for an entire day. (Mentioned in "Conflict Resolution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_Resolution_%28The_Office_episode%29)")
Convinced Dwight an abandoned infant was in the women's restroom, causing him to walk in on Meredith (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meredith_Palmer) "on the can." (Mentioned in "Conflict Resolution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_Resolution_%28The_Office_episode%29)")
Used a macro (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macro_%28computer_science%29) so that every time Dwight typed his name, it appeared as "diapers". (Mentioned in "Conflict Resolution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_Resolution_%28The_Office_episode%29)")

With Pam, convinced Dwight that he (Jim) had telekinetic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telekinetic) powers. ("Casino Night (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casino_Night_%28The_Office_episode%29)")
Held Dwight's bobblehead doll for $5 ransom. (Third Season Primetime Preview (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Office_media#NBC_Fall_2006_Primetime_P review))
Encased Andy's calculator in Jell-O. ("Gay Witch Hunt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_Witch_Hunt)") This prank backfired when Andy reacted violently.
Convinced Dwight (and Michael) that gaydar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaydar) was a genuine device. ("Gay Witch Hunt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_Witch_Hunt)")

Well, some inner part of me is so glad that jim and pam are together. But at the same time the show lost a lot of its tension from that. The rest of the characters are too crazy to really take seriously with their problems and it feels so contrived. I know it's supposed to be absurd, etc. but before it at least felt grounded in reality. This episode was just like "WHAT WILL STEVE CARELL DO NEXT! SO ZANY".
Parts that stood out for me though were: Jan passed the fuck out in the beginning, the religions discussion "Satan, the master of lies", Ryan of course, "Cats do no produce meat or wool or milk" etc.
I enjoyed it a lot, I think I just hyped it up too much for myself and didn't live up to it.

So, I was reading Penny-Arcade and saw this:
I saw over at PvP that to help promote the new season of the Office, NBC has set up something called Dunder Mifflin Infinity (http://www.dundermifflininfinity.com/). Kara and I are big fans of the show and I'm a big fan of crushing PvP. So when I saw that Scott and Kris had applied to run a branch of Dunder Mifflin I knew I had to do the same. I've applied to be the manager of the Spokane Wa, branch since that shit hole happens to be where I grew up. Now I just need fifteen employees to sign up for the same branch using this code: s4g8c5lwvs and the job is mine. I'm assuming there's some Office fans out there to help me with this. I'm not exactly sure what we'll be doing but the site promises that branches will be rewarded with prizes for completing certain tasks. All I know is that we've got to beat those sons of bitches at the Central Pencader, Deleware branch!
I couldn't get details from the link, but it sounds kinda cool.

Darrel feeding the squirrel was the highlight I thought. It seems like the show is going to take a turn towards the absurd now that the conflict between Pam and Jim seems like it's through. It looks like they might try to shift it ti Angela and Dwight but I don't think it'll have the same effect. It's hard to say whether that will be good or not. One thing they need more of is Ryan. He is my favorite character and I was expecting him to have a bit more face time but I'm sure it's building to something good.

I've been out of The Office loop lately. I gotta catch up before they go too far and I wonder what the hell happened to my Rashida Jones!

Pretty good episode.
"Pam is the office mattress"
"You can't give clients to whoever your sleeping with that week"
Creed coming in with his dark black hair was awesome, as was a bunch of stuff this episode.
Driving in to the lake was a bit much though.

Fucking awesome episode. I was really hoping going into this season that Michael vs Ryan would be a big part of it and the writers haven't let me down so far.
Dunder-Mifflin website...coming Christmas 2002!
Driving in to the lake was a bit much though.
Believe it or not, the whole driving into the lake thing is somewhat based on reality. Some people have been known to depend too much on those things to give them directions and crash into things. And Michael is just the kind of knob to do such a thing.

I wasn't enamored with this week's episode. Creed saved it though and so did this line: Angela: So I heard a joke today!
Dwight: Haha, that's funny!
Angela: Yes.

Great episode last night. Darryl and Kelly ("Still miss Ryan?" "Not as much" "Mmmm")? Andy and Angela? Dwight and Skynet? I mean DMI? It looks like they're trying to have something replace the pam/jim will they/won't they tension, and while its less endearing, the Dwight/Andy/Angela triangle has great potential. And the Acapella thing with the phones, I know Andy is awkward and the situation was very comedic, but if that were real life, I would classify Andy as a pimp.
I love how Dwight and Andy are both characters that you hate at first, then love down the line.

I <3 Ed Helms.
There was this great deleted scene they took out from Season 3 where he's showing Jim is "24 inch vert" (no homo) and it was one of those things only Ed Helms could make funny.

So, Dundler-Mifflin Infinity (http://www.dundermifflininfinity.com/) has launched. In real life. There are virtual branches that you can join and some other stuff that I haven't looked into yet. You can earn Schrutebucks to buy things for your virtual desk. The leading branch with the most Schrutebucks? Spokane, WA, led by Gabe from Penny-Arcade.
Going to read Creed's Blog and Schrute-Space at the NBC website now...
Time Encapsulated
Hello internetizens. I have returned from my web logging hiatus. You may be asking yourself, “what happened to Dwight all summer?” Shut up. It’s none of your business. Just focus on the present. In this case, the present has two meanings. In its first usage, it is temporal. The present is the here and now. It is also being used to mean “a gift.” This web log is a present from me to you, the reader, because you do not pay for it and I am giving it to you. Enjoy your present (both meanings).
This weekend, while my cousin Mose was aerating the soil in the East Field, he came upon a metal box labeled “For Dwight. DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 2005.” Luckily, Mose is not nosey and brought it to me unopened right away.
As it turns out, the box was a time capsule that I had left for myself in 1985. It was quite interesting to see what 1985 Dwight had left for 2005 Dwight, even though 2005 Dwight forgot it was there and had to be reminded by 2007 Mose two years later.
These are the contents of 1985 Dwight’s Time Capsule:
1. A dehydrated beet sculpture of myself holding a very small metal box meant to represent a miniature version of the time capsule. I was very much into beet miniatures when I was teenager. I did not, however, know my “BeetDwight” would shrivel into dehydration. That occurred because of science, not intention.
2. A friendship bracelet. They were all the rage amongst agricultural teenagers in 1985. I was susceptible to fads back then. This has since been corrected.
3. Half of a Twix Bar. It must have fallen in.
4. A letter to myself. It said: “Hello Dwight. If you’re reading this, then you are not dead. Good. If you are not Dwight and you are reading this, be aware that this letter is cursed and the ghost of me will haunt you forever. Dokken Rules. Dwight.”
5. A letter to my wife. This is a sensitive subject as I am unmarried and have obviously disappointed my former self.
6. The carcass of a vole. At first I thought it had either fallen in or been trapped while attempting to retrieve the Twix bar. After careful thought, however, I remembered that this was the skeleton of my neighbor’s pet. I despised him and kidnapped one of his voles. Unfortunately, the vole perished before I could return her, so I threw her into the time capsule so there would be no evidence. This serves as my confession. If any authorities are reading this, I willingly accept any punishment bestowed upon me, although I believe the statute of limitations on vole manslaughter has run out.
This “blast from the past” has cast an interesting shadow over my week. It has provided cause for great self-reflection. In truth, however, I am proud of who I have become and regret nothing. Now I must make a time capsule for 2025 Dwight. I hope he is alive when he opens it. And married. And running a large paper company. And a beet magnate or mogul, whichever is most powerful in 2025. Additionally, I hope he has created a way to keep miniature beet sculptures hydrated over long periods of time, thus making himself very rich yet unburdened by the pressures of being overly wealthy.
That is all,
Dwight K. Schrute
2007 Version
In other Office related news, my wife went to LA earlier this week and Phyllis was on her flight. She texted me about it and I told her to say hi to her or something, but she was nervous. She said she's really nice in real life though, and really tall. That is all.

AWW PAM <3
Angela, of all people, kicked ass that episode.
Dwight--"I did it for you."
Angela--"I didn't ask you to do it for me."
Dwight--"You didn't have to."
That's almost as good as the "I heard a joke" thing from last episode.
Not the best episode so far this year but overall I'm loving this season.

Heh, I realize that, I just think it was so random of her.
That pizza kid was top tier.
Dwight: "I know that kid, he steals hemp from my farm"
Pizza Kid: "I know that guy, he has the farm with the crappy weed"
Meredith is an (ugly) slut, and wants Jim's cock. Jim don't want nuthin to do with that.
Jim's reaction to the Meredith thing was priceless as always. Come to think of it, this show would totally suck if it wasn't for Jim's facial reactions.

Andy is still the king.
And I'm getting really sick of Jim and Pam. This Andy/Angela/Dwight love triangle is making up for it. Looks like Darryl is gonna hit that Indian ass too.

Highlights of this ep.
- Darryl is amazing. He beasted on Kelly pretty hard this episode.
- Andy scores finally!
- Jim is a great guy. Helping Dwight like that was quite awesome.
- and yes, it is getting ridiculous. Michael in debt? how'd this happen? buying random crap?

And Jan. Trading in their cars and getting a Porsche that she uses?
Andy is a pimp.
Dwight is back. Mentally :-D (though that last part where he tried to touch Jim and he was gone was hilarious)
Poor Michael. His co-workers from the other job actually liked him.
