How to AHVB with Cable inside Hyper Sentinel Force

A top player called me up yesterday and asked me how the hell did I do the pushblock AHVB with cable against sentinel during HSF during my money match with sanford kelly. After numerous tries this top player couldn't do it. I explained to him on the fundamentals and he was able to do it once over 30 minutes. Hey - that's better than 0 right? It's a start too. That's how I started.



This is exactly how you do it - after this thread I'd expect to see more cables doing this.

1) Pushblock the first wave of drones when it is 1 character distance from hitting you after a successful block of another move prior to HSF such as storms hail then dhc to HSF or a regular spit then HSF.... you get the picture.

2) As soon as the middle drone of the second wave has pass you - start the motion for the ahvb.

3) Delay the punch buttons press long enough so cables feet is above the 1st and second bottom drones of the 3rd wave. If your feet is above them then you will have succeeded in doing the ahvb inside HSF.

4) That's all - step 4 is actually a tip. Don't go straight into this - practice doing cables ahvb first and at a speed that will make him higher above ground ( Pretend you are doing it against sentinels super). Once you get the timing for this down you should be able to apply it when you actually try it against sentinels HSF.

No - you can not call an assist then do the move - I could be wrong but I have not been able to do it at all.

I've been asked if I can do this most of the time and the answer is no. I can do it probably 7/10 times on a good day.... 9/10 in a during clutch moments lol.

If you don't have a partner to do this with - use a pad and a stick. Hold back on the stick to block with your foot and with a control pad do hsf - as soon as you block drop the pad and pushblock on the stick. That's what I did lol - lame yes I know whatever.....

Hmmm, I remember seeing that technique on Advanced Tactics Volume 1 IIRC. I wonder why people didn't start doing this earlier? Anyways pretty good tutorial, I started getting it about 4/10 tries, it's still mediocre but meh, there's always time to improve.

EDIT: To me it's pretty much the same thing as GC out of the HSF w/ a non Sentinel character, just throwing in a AHVB

That video didn't show you that you can get sentinel - it showed that you can get his assist as a matter of fact the person who helped with that vid is one of the people asking me on how I am getting sentinel during HSF.

Is it pretty much the same as GC out of HSF with a non sentinel character? Probably - wonder why not many people are doing it as much as the jump outs? Cause its hella hard to do doing clutch times :-)

i got it to work with dr. dooms air photon array but it barely hits sentinel.

Thanks man, ya'll should see the commy video, it should help out too and give a better visual than in the match vs sanford as the quality is much better than the match floating around. I think i can finally get this done now. :woot:

Im giving props to Duc but I dont know what gets more, being able to do this in the clinch or just practcing this shit by itself. It took me a minute to get adjusted using 2 controllers. That was harder than actually doing the move. I am getting it more, prolly bout 25 times in an hour. Thats after the 20 minutes it took me to adjust using the pad then the stick together.

Well shoot.. if the ps2 and xbox versions are easier to do then lets move over to that version lol cause the DC version seems harder I guess. Which version is your vid from metrock?

DC of course. I had the xbox version before and it just seemed off. On simple stuff like lighting attack cancel into lighting storm was difficult for me. Like maybe 4/10. But then again I had the big ass OG xbox control.

after i saw the vid of duc vs sanford mm... i went directly straigth to the arcade and practiced the ahvb after hsf... i got to AHVBing after HSF after an hour playing casually with anyone who challenges me in the arcade because we don't have ps2's, xbox's or dc's here to practice with... [can't afford]
just to add to the tips for those who still can't do it... what i discovered is that when you do ahvb you must commit to doing it because most of the time when you are doing it, you are sometimes worried of being hit with the last drone and instead of focusing to do the ahvb, you are concerned to being able to block after if the ahvb doesn't come out...
