I was wondering if there are any limitations to using 2 punches to dash as opposed to just the normal double motion. For some reason I have trouble doing a dash towards the left. I keep trying it but just feels awkward on the wrist.

IMO lp+hp dash > tap, tap.
to dash back you just hold back+ both punches.
also you can only wave dash with the 2 punches
(lp+hp, crouch,) repeat

The most frustrating use of the 2P dash is with Hayato and Anarkis. Their back-forwards moves mean that I often end up performing them instead of dashing after blocking. I wish Capcom thought of this.

It can really suck when you're trying to wavedash across the screen and fierce comes out instead, for some reason.

it also sucks when trying to wave dash and their qcf+pp super comes out. [e.g. Magnetic Tempest and Lightning Strike].

if you wave dash forward then do dash, down, dash, down, dash, down, over and over that way you don't run into the super, as far as fierce or lp comming out, then you just need to practice on hitting both buttons perfectly.
to go backwards do defensive crouch then dash, downback, dash, downback, etc.
one thing that is annoying about marvel is that it isn't like 3s where if an attack still hasn't hit you then can still dash back or walk back, sometimes i wanna dash back cause i know my oppenent is going to do a tri jump or stomp, but then i just end up doing a fierce or lp cause the game registers the back as block, and then the lp+hp as an attack.

You need to work on your execution, then. How do you even get a qcf motion from just tapping down?

I know what I'm doing. My air dashing is perfect and it's the same exact shit.

Why would you need to wavedash backward? That's just asking to get hit.

You do know you can't block during a back dash, right? If you still want to dash backwards, just do b,b instead of db/b+PP.

well i mainly try to dash back when i see mag or storm comming for a tri jump, i wanna dash back to get some space, but then agian i could do other things and to hit, i'll try the double tap tho. when that happens.
oh the reason why a fierce comes out is because you didn't cancel the dash with a tap down, so the game registers that you did a dash then pressed both punches so a fierce always comes out, don't try to wave dash too fast.

I'm talking about the very first dash, when the joystick is at neutral. If the buttons seem to be working, I can wavedash very quickly.

well then you are talking about button problems, so that solves your problem, just play on good sticks/cabinets =p

That doesn't explain why I can infinite 'til dizzy even when the dashing is broken.

yeah. something to do with the stick. i stll dont get it, everytime i wavedash, there''s always a chance that their qcf+pp comes out. but then again. my execution on trijump, airdash etc is correct.
