Emulator: MAME32K 0.64

Date: Sunday October 15th

Time: 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time

Format: 2/3 Falls, Double Elimination. 3/5 Falls Winners and Losers Finals. 4/7 Grand Finals.

Server: Godweapon Server 1, Anti3D

All brackets will be co-ordinated through #alpha3tournament on Efnet.

NOTES

- Mandatory IRC rule is still in effect. If you have come across players on Kaillera that play this game please send them a link to this thread and tell them to get IRC. I will not co-ordinate matches between IRC and Kaillera because people don't want to take 30 seconds for a couple meg download.

- Please get the word out when you're playing casual. There are A LOT of A3 players on Kaillera. Make sure they get MIRC and please point them to this thread if at all possible.

You could download HydraIRC or another IRC, and if you need the URI, you have to put irc://irc.ptptech.com/(instert #something here) instead of just /join #something.

Edit: irc://irc.ptptech.com/ is only for Efnet, afaik.

Yeah but didn't they ban Crouch cancel infinites form Evo way back when?
Also in regards to the XvS infinites, I think that game benefit from having a "no basic infinite" rule implied when there are tournament s for them. Having Infinites with no way to possibly get out of them really draws away from the fun of the game.

I mean one of the key reasons why XvS isn’t taken seriously is because people who abuse things like that can win matches regardless of how good they are. They also disallow the dead character infinites in mvc2 at Evo.

Any how the reason I’m asking for a “no crouch cancel” rule is so that every one can have at least an equal chance of winning. Also its more entertaining to take the crouch cancel infinites out. A-Cho matches are fun to watch but its boring to see crouch cancel infinites. Just my input though. Not trying to start a flame war:confused:

:confused: I've been using MIRC for five years and never spent a penny. :confused:

Hyo; The IRC rule is mandatory. It allows me to co-ordinate all the players in one lobby just like a director at an offline tourney would tell players that they're up on a particular cabinet. It's a one minute download for a very small program that uses minimal resources.

"mIRC can be downloaded freely and evaluated for 30 days. If you find that you like mIRC, and wish to continue using it after the evaluation period, you are required to register it. Your registration will license you to use current and future versions of mIRC."

The 20$ are mentioned in the registeration page.
