i only have 3S results, robin will post the other games later. once again, another great tournament for 3S. special appearances this month by pittsburg, new york and team hate!!! 3S had both teams and singles, and although they ran a little late because of PEOPLE GOING TO EAT AND STAYING THERE!@!~^~!~!@.......we still had a great time.

3S teams (11 teams, 3 per team) : anchor seeded, 1st and 2nd randomly generated

1.) team we win (bchan [DU], dsp [UR], justin wong [CH])
2.) team we hate team 1 (capcom killah [KE], robin palm [AL], exodus [KE])
3.) team itz dat free (mulligan [CH], parryall [AL], smoothcat [CH])

team exodus and team smoothcat met in semis, team smoothcat went on to face team justin (team justin beat team eric kim in semis) -- losers bracket, team eric kim beat team deviljin, and team exodus beat team ultradavid. team exodus beats team eric kim, then faces team smoothcat in losers finals, wins and proceeds to lose to team justin. random format is too goddamned fun :)

there was literally a 2 hour pause for teams and singles because people were going to eat and stayed there to eat instead of driving back, not to mention it was popeyes, which was like 15 min drive from the locale -_- ...............

but the tournament was fucking awesome! the guest appearances were mad hype. winners semis was justin vs epsilon, and me vs shinshay. unfortunately, shinshay's hit confirms just werent coming out, and i took the match 2-1 ryu vs chun. justin then proceeded to 3-0 me chun vs yun. in losers...

if you have trouble reading this; eric lee, epsilon, and exodus were sent from winners bracket. hold dat beat eric lee 2-0 ken vs chun, then i beat hold dat 3-1 chun vs ken. in grand finals, i lost to justin 4-2, with justin perfecting my yun twice for a 2-0, and then i switched to ken and went 2-2, almost made it 3-2 my favor :(, but he took the 2 last matches to end it 4-2.

i wanna thank the poker scrubs for allowing themselves to get owned by me in our 5 man $20 SnG. nken, i own your soul in heads up. SON! pvfp with the goddamned afro wig. too fucking good.

parryall and friend, thank you for driving down. sorry for not being able to accomodate the team entry for your friend, but it was a little hard to accomodate 1 player in a 3 man environment :) -- hope you guys come down again next time.

Great tournament once again to Exo and Robin.

I got to meet a bunch of new people Smooth who had some of the best matches of the night, B-Chan who got free money thanks to Justin, Hold Dat who came all the way from NYC beasted everyone and brought legitimacy to pad scrubs everywhere, Justin and DSP who I got to play in teams winners finals......old faces like Dave (congrats on piloting the robot to top 8), Shinshay, Ramza, DevilJin, Xenozip, Epsilon, and everyone else I played in casuals or tounament great stuff.

Can't wait to see the videos.

Despite the really far location and some unexpected accidents(Manny had a flat on the way to eat during the tourn), this was a really cool tourn with some big-name guests dropping down.

Renegade and Exodus: Great event as usual, and nicely organized for what you guys could do. I think this was the first time I played against Exodus, and I'll take that rape. =x

Hold Dat and SLogan(Team DMBP): Thanks for letting me use your stick during the tourn(I normally use my HRAP, but I just came back from JMU with no time to spare). Beasting with the pad was too hot, and SLogan with the motherfuckin' RAGE. This team was so damn hype, even I got caught in the crossfire!

Ultradavid, MOD, Charles, BBHood01: Really cool to see you guys again(Charles too since I haven't seen him since Ota), and it was pretty neat eating with you all at Five Guys. =O

Eric Lee, Eric Kim, 10 Times, Jose, Deviljin, PVP, and all the other folks I usually see at C3: It was cool seeing you all again too. DJ, we gotta battle again some day, that training session just wasn't enough. Kimmicks, call me when you wanna meet up next time so I can have my games back, haha.

Ek and Terry Bogus: Man, just standin' around and playing Melty Blood, wtf man. =T j/k, it was cool you guys came too..even if you kinda didn't want to. haha

Crimson Venom: Last but not least. Thanks a lot for the ride, and real sorry all that dumb shit had to happen. Hope you made it alright the rest of the evening.

Ok, I finished encoding the footage that I took. Shakey cam action. >.<

I have segments of individual matches that I recorded (like 5-10 megs each) and then I have a 1hr. 42min. vid which is all the segments in one vid, which is a 561 meg file.

I know BChan wanted the segments of him playing and I'll try and contact him. If anyone remembers me sitting there recording your match and wants a specific segment, PM me with the details -- character you played and opponent's character and either e-mail or aim.

I uhh.. I have no idea how to torrent this. I kind of remember how, but I need a tracker or something. Suggestions?

U kno I typed this up at work, did a carry-out, and some PEN15 closed the damn window.
What a conclusion to a fucked up week: My ex's wanna talk to me randomly, my supervisor says Black Friday will be the worst day of my life, school is fuckin me up, god I need some stress relief (Oct. 25th, yeeea buddy). Neway...
Me, Ekim, Terry Bogus, Johnny Rainbow, and Ek were on our way to get somethin to eat til I realized I had a flat tire (maybefrom my super U-turn I made earlier that afternoon). After successfully lodging the bolt into the tire iron, we frantically searched for a tire iron THAT FIT. So fuck the shout-outs, here some thank-yous.

Ultradavid, BBhood, Charles, MOD, and the driver (didnt get ur name, dawg)- Thanks for being there and stickin around whie I changed the tire. Whether u wanted to be there or not, i appreciated ur precense cause it was enough support for me.

Exodus for the tire iron THAT FIT! Lifesaver, ho my lawd! Whish I coulda thnk youed earlier.

Ramza for showing me that tru friends ditch their stranded boys for a video game tounament and try to make up for it 3 hours later. (Ha j/k, it's all good.)

Especially Johnny Rainbow, Terry Bogus, and Ek for gettin me through tat loooong dangerous drive back home. Thanks for comin out too, even tho we kinda just showed up at ur house and kidnapped you. (Chris u said "if only if he picks me up" and I did, bitch!)

Anyone else that may have helped me out in some way shape or form and I didnt know it. Nice seein u guys again, Jose, PVPOCVFTW, Ekim, Elee, EricV (good to see ya again), 10x (pretty boy), Renegade (the shirt has super metaphysical powers) and the rest of the usual suspects.

because it's fucking disrespectful to the tournament, its players, and everyone you got food for. you all could've easily bought that shit, drove back, then eat at your own leisure. holding up multiple tournaments just so you can sit down and eat 15 minutes earlier is fucked up. unlike the previous c3 where food was everywhere within 3 minutes, this c3 wasn't the case. in hindsight it was our fault for not imposing limits, but at the same time i'd expect people to have some respect for their fellow players.

(from other thread) I just wanted to apologize to everyone who tried to talk to me or vs. me after like 10 or 11pm. I was mentally fucked at that point and could barely think. Sleep deprivation owned me for freeeee.

I had a fuck of a lot of fun though, thanks everyone. Special thanks to M.Chibi and the NY crew for coming out, and also to everyone who played A3. <3

Unless you're tipping or something you dont get a 30 min fucking guarantee. And you're making pretty big assumptions, if we just brought the shit back it would've saved about ten minutes thats it, the popeyes took forever and random shit was happening, so I guess if you say its "disrespectful" to get food at all you have a point sort of, but I dont see how its reasonable to expect people not to eat or get gouged by c3 if they want food when we're talking about like 12 hours most ppl were there for. Bottom line the delays would be conviently forgot if Justin took an hour to get food, deny that shit if you wish but that happens all the time with top players and no one ever seriously complains, so its either not that big of a deal or blatant discrimination.

LOL. My bad Exo. I had no idea they were gonna stay there and eat. I guess everyone got caught by the itis as soon as they walked into the Popeyes. Chicken thru yo system! If I had a car I would have came back because I knew I had food for you. Unfortunately I had already bought your chicken before they decided to stay so you got not so fresh spicy Popeyes delivered back to C3. Not even azn peepz like cold Popeyes. We'll make it up with another money match for some Pho or...fresh Popeyes! Next time we'll just go out to eat together.

Enough of the drama. After being to enough of these tournaments I say if the tournament comes out with a winner for every game...it's a success. Yeah...tournaments sometimes get drawn out due to crap circumstances and what not but outside of the tournament delay there were no real other issues with the tournament. Exo and Robin know how to run shit and have helped to finish other tourneys that they weren't even running. Like most C3 tourneys...there is no real cut off time for the tournament so some delays in the tournament were workable.

Besides...it's god damned POPEYES!

justin has never been missing for half an hour at ECC and the tournament has never stopped. there isnt any favoritism there. when people are gone, the tournament coordinator should have been informed, so he can run other matches to compensate. there were countless times last night where i had to tell robin "they're probably at popeyes.".

im not saying im goin to DQ people, but there should be common courtesy involved.

and lastly, did it occur to you that i may have not been talking about YOU or your group? there was a group of people who went to popeyes and stayed there to eat between 9 to 10:30. i was timing them because i was hungry as shit and i was one of the people who asked for food.

in any event, it's already happened and it's over with. i just want to put it out to let people know what they should be doing and why it's irritable for everyone else. common fucking courtesy.

Im almost positive you were talking about the group I went with, I was pretty sure someone HAS gone missing at ECC and things were delayed for them, and I KNOW it has happened at evo and numerous other tourneys, I see your point and certainly agree with you to an extent. Those are my points and now Im dropping it(though I reserve the right to jump back in if I feel like it wooh go internet)

Good shit to me for scrubbing out in everything possible. Like missing basic shit AGAIN and just not really getting into a groove for most of the tournament outside of my fights with J.Wong and Smoothcat. I was too focused on looking to beat Chun and didn't focus enough on the other matchups. I still fuck up EX moves like nobody's business. God knows why.

I do remember the cute azn chick that was at C3. I thought that was J.Wong's girl. I also understand not coming to C3 again because we're a bunch of chicken itis mutha fuckas!

I actually gave you a run for your money this time despite not actually winning any matches (more so in 3S than CVS2). If I can make it to TGA I look forward to battling you again. Ultra Dave/Parry All/Johnny Rainbow: The Q factor. Good shit to all you guys for coming out. Johnny Rainbow I know this is your last one so rep MD/VA for us over in Japan and don't scrub out too much. Parry All...good to actually talk to you in person. You're a cool guy and it was good getting those matches in with you during the tournament. I did some scrubby ass shit but luckily Q just gets knocked around enough by the shinobi to still secure a win. If that shit was any closer you would have won. Way to put on the pressure with the tin man. Ultra Dave...too serious. That's all I've gotta say. Too damned serious.

Mamation: Good shit rolling with the winners in 3S teams. You'll learn stuff with participating in teams more often and if you research shit in the 3S forums you'll pick up on stuff. 3S has that random factor so you can always pull an ace trick and do some good random shit. I still suck at Slash and am only good for randomly doing FRC's.

Xenozip: Fun casuals and cool shit taping some of my matches. Don't worry about Makoto. I was using SA3 during that fight any ways. I just didn't know you were gonna go for the cheese factor like Eric K. LOL. Don't worry...I know enough about that matchup to come out with more wins against you. Ibuki mirrors are hella fun too. SA3 sucks.

Exo: Again...sorry about Popeyes. I was locked in the building and the black people wouldn't let me out unless I sat down and had chicken with them. Sorry about un-fresh Popeyes. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy but what an you do. At least you ran shit against me during our fights. Next time...I'm gonna come out with the win (yeah...I say that everytime) and you're gonna buy me cold Popeyes! :lol:

Some random comments:

-GREAT tournament, people actually showed up for the games I wanted to play (3s and CvS2) and I actually shook off a few weeks of non-practice rust that I had on my shoulders. Let nobody say that my unorthodox playing style in 3s can't win matches, because that stupid Tyrant Slaughter Urien was fucking people up pretty bad :rofl:
-Good shit to Lady Luck for randomly putting me on Justin's team, but if I hadn't I was going to pick Ken and probably would have beaten more people than I did with Urien anyway. Justin specifically requested my Urien because he knew how hilarious it was going to be to see me beat fools with him.
-Poor SNAAAKE, I told him not to play me for money in CvS2 but he wouldn't listen. Now he's $20 poorer even though I played like complete shit during our money match. Maybe once you can beat Jasmine's Girl Power team, you can come back and challenge me again :wink: no hard feelings bro, I know I'm a top-tier whore and a complete dickhead, so you don't have to tell me.
-Good shit to Skisonic for winning our Marvel money match that got pushed back from EVO until now. I remember a few years ago I made a strong resolution to never make Marvel money bets again....hrm I forget why that was.....maybe I should have stuck to it? I don't even know why I enter Marvel anymore, I think I'm going to stop. YES even though Justin insists it's my second-best game, I fucking hate the thing.
-Also good shit to everybody I saw again from VA/MD (Exo, Shinshay, Robin, NKen, Pat van FUCKING Pelt, Eric Kim, and many others) as well as those from the Tri-State area that made the long ass drive (Justin and other empire, HOLD DAT!, Master Chibi/Chubby/whatever it is, SNAAAKE, Nick T, and many others). And of course, good shit to all the new people I finally got to meet, there are about 80 of you so I can't get specific, but it's always awesome to meet new peeps in the community.
-Smoothcat is a 3s scrub.

Two important issues:

-The food situation. Here is my take:
Since this was the first tournament event at a new location, there were bound to be problems. Food was one of them, since obviously nobody knew the area (or that there was a Five Guys burger joint around the corner from the place!). It was cool to meet the owner of C3 and all, but "scalping" Dominoes pizza because he knew there was limited knowledge about the area and he wanted to take advantage to make up some of his expenses, was kind of lame. I mean, he's already going ot make money off the drinks/location and events that will be run, so I did think that was a bit unnecessary. However, he was a really great guy and I don't want to talk bad about him, because I can definitely see from his point of view how it was a smart way to make up some of his moving/rent costs for the new location.

As for people leaving to go to Popeyes and all the controversy about favortism about DQs at tournaments, it's like this. I can most definitely see NKen's point of view on the matter. Exo I can also see yours. NKen does have a point when he says that if it were Justin who had left to eat, he would have had zero chance of getting DQed. Exo brings up the fact of ECC and it's no-tolerance policy towards anyone.....

....interesting you bring that up, because it was ME who was the first person to enforce that policy. True story: back in February of last year, Josh and I ran a pre-ECC "dry run" with a tournament called "Clash" that basically Phi supervised us running. Justin and Ricky were crazy late and I had already posted on SRK that I had zero tolerance for this. They called me and said they were on a train headed to the Break and would be there in something like 2 hours. I told them I was starting on time and if they showed up in time, I would throw them in, and if not I would give them first round losses and throw them into losers. They WERE late, I DID throw them in losers. Justin forfeit but Ricky ended up coming out of losers to win the whole thing. After that, they learned their lesson that as a tournament director, I have zero favortism and zero tolerance and will not put up with bullshit. And so at ECC, low and behold, everything went swimmingly.

Now....

At PAST ECCs, this was not the case. I love Phi to death, but sometimes I do get the feeling that he just wants to try to please everybody all the time, and that's not possible if you want to run a successful event that everyone enjoys. I CAN say 100% from experience that favortistic actions have been taken towards top players at ECC and other Break tournaments, as much as I want to defend them. Meanwhile, LOTS of non-top players got eliminated for not being around for their matches after being called a few times. So I can definitely understand NKen's point.

The bottom line is this:

Next C3 tournament, the organizers should do some research pre-event and get a listing together of local places to eat. Post this list on SRK with addresses of places, since to be honest most of them are NOT easy to find besides Five Guys. This way, there is no excuse for "taking too long to eat." If people are going ot eat, they must notify the tournament director and make sure it is OK with them, and MUST return within a certain time period, or they will be DQed.

Period. End of discussion, end of drama. Thank you for playing.

-One final thing. Although I really did enjoy this event, unfortunately I can say for myself that I will not be driving down again. 8 hour drive each way, insane traffic back and forth, over 20 dollars in tolls EACH WAY, and over 30 dollars in gas EACH WAY has completely owned me. I even missed all my football games today, which is a bunch of bullshit, but I figured it would happen. Maybe in the future if someone else on Team Hate decides to get a van and drive down, I will join them, but unfortunately this is looking like the first and last C3 event that the King of Hate will attend :sad:

Anyways good shit and hope to see you all at some other events....TGA? NEC? Final Round? Texas Showdown? What's good???

just to clarify, i have no problem against people eating popeyes, or even going to eat in general. i just ask for them to be reasonable on how long they'll be, and make sure the coordinator is aware of their absence. managing the players in a tournament isn't easy when you have to coordinate multiple tournaments. make it easier for us by accounting for yourselves. i love popeyes. i just hate steve harrison. =O

Yay, I got top five in Super Turbo! ...out of nine people. I hadn't played in so long, I was messing up walk-up spds and regular ol' spd ticks all over the place, and combos I remember working for Zangief didn't come out, although maybe that was just because of the DC's crazy sprite differences, and I couldn't believe I even messed up Honda's free corner command grab trap win against DSP's Blanka. Anyways, great games to DSP and Justin in that, just playing those few matches of ST made it all worthwhile. I guess that was the requisite second time I play Super Turbo this year, seems like that's the way it's worked out since mid-undergrad.

Thanks to MOD for letting me crash at his place for two nights, that was real cool. Thanks to Alex, if he goes on SRK, for driving us around and going back to C3 to pick up my computer and converter and then going back to MOD's house to give me my wallet. Good games to DevilJin and BBHood, good playing and hanging out with you guys, as always.

Nah it's cool. I totally forgot and was too focused on just moving up in the tournament to even remember to get shit capped. You still got a good bit of my matches despite me neglecting to ask to get them capped which is mad cool. I was so hyped about playing matches that I totally forgot and just assumed someone might cap. Not that I really cared whether they did or not. If you're gonna cap stuff at next C3 I'll come find you and request to cap certain matches.

The match where I play against Chun (the only match where I do) is vs. Justin Wong. I actually put up some kind of a fight against him so maybe it's hard to tell it's him. :lol:

Can you get chicken delivered? In any event...nothing beats fresh off the fryer Popeyes. It's worth the ride for some hot Popeyes. Even if the leftover chicken at night still isn't quite as fresh as what you'd get during the day. Not to mention they had nothing but chicken. Couldn't get a chicken sandwich, fish, nuttin but spicy or mild CHICKEN!!

Hopefully the next tourney is closer to Popeyes. At least Chick Fil A. Chicken is probably the most important factor right now in deciding the fate of the rest of our tournaments. This issue must be addressed IMMEDIATELY for the next tourney. Otherwise I'll be stuck eating chicken with the black guys again and holding up tournaments for stupid amounts of time. The chicken just needs to be closer. Bring the people and the chicken together.

Shinshay...let me know if you can do our money match for next tourney. Same rules apply unless you have any ideas.

DJ: Man, your Ibuki is a beast. I'm glad our match had alot of people watchin and made for good entertainment. Moments like that own the tournament, and I'm glad to be a part of it. Yeah, I choked, that's just part of the game and even though I lost, I'm just proud to be able to hold my own vs. one of the best on EC.

Your matches with J-Wong were awesome too, you gave him a serious run for his money. I kept thinkin about how it could have been me playin Justin, I'm glad I got a chance to play him in teams. He doesn't play too many casuals I've noticed.

Hold-Dat: Man, your game is serious, I don't know how you play so good on a PS2 pad, and your battles with Exodus were amazing. Bringin legitimacy to Pad Scrubs everywhere. You need to roll on a Saturn pad like me/Mike/Xeno! See you again at NEC.

See all you guys at NEC or if there's another C3 before then ... we'll have to talk about MD/VA/Pitt owning up a hotel in Philly. We should all split on a crazy big expensive room some baller type shit FTW. Can't wait to see everyone again.

Robin it was a good tournament even though you can't post the results! The whole thing would have been better if we could start the tournaments earlier. There was zero time for casuals after the tourney or during, not to mention poker. I feel raped for c3 not having the main event. And I know I cant get all y'all to give up the random3s team tourny everyone is so gay for... Smash bros players if not bamas are atleast there early and get that shit over with. Basically we really didnt have time for anything cool... I will though say, it was a good tournament although sluuugggiiisshhh, and we had lots of good competetion in all the games.

Everyone who played A3 good shit, more entrants than marvel, and a lot of ggs:tup: Wish we had more time for casuals. Since no one ever posts a3 results for some reason...:

There was no ST tourney. There was a 9-man Dreamcast version of ST tourney that nobody cared about. There will be no ST tournaments until next month when it's released on PS2.

I didn't even collect my prize money, thats how little that tournament meant.

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll post a huge article on your website about how the Empire beat Team Hate. Whatever gives you a hard on, dumbass.
