The experience was intense. I was there since 7 o' clock in the morning! Some

other guys were there around 4 am (or maybe they camped, but I didn't ask). I

was number 25 (so far at the time) I was sad because in past experience with

EBgames/Gamestop I didn't get one. The line started to get bigger, by 8 o' clock there

were around 40 people, and it didn't seem to stop! Later, some guy in the line started to

count and ask how many people wanted to buy a Wii? And when he asked me; I

saw on the list that around 20 people wanted the Wii! and also the freaking Elmo,

and finally the PS3 with 10 people (maybe because they knew that they weren't

around too many PS3s). It was around 9 o' clock it was frezzng (at least for me I showed

up in jeans and a t-shirt). At 10 AM a Guy from Puerto Rico, that was a collector,

showed up and started to tease all the people in the line. He started to say

ridicoulusly about the pre-orders "the PS3 and Wii is NOT going to be delivered in a first come-first serve

basis; They are gona make a rafflle", and we like WOOOT! NO WAAAY! The guy

started a big discussion among people, and they throw the bone back at him. Saying

all kind of shit to him. They knew that he was a greedy guy. Finally, the people,

realize that he was only confusing them to get in the line. At 10:30 AM there were around 100 HISTERIC PEOPLE

the manager came out and handled the situation, and with a HARD loud voide said "There are gonna be

only 11 PS3s, 40 Wiis, and 150 ELMOS. NO PUSHING, RUNNING, FIGHTING in the

store or ILL KICK YOUR ASS FROM the store. because it is MY STORE and I'll do

what I want!" and then he add, "only one per customer for PS3 and Wii. Elmos only 2 per

customer" he concluded. Finally by eleven o clock the greedy guy went back in the

line, and I got my Wii by 1130. The greedy guy didn't get anything, and I head

back to my home very happy!

Do you have and experience? share it! Or leave some comments everything is

welcome! from PSFanboys, PCgamers, handleds, to MSfanboys.

wow 40 Wiis. At my store it was only 8 PS3s and 20 Wiis. This lady that was 5th in line got in some trouble with the manager and got demoted to 25th. Ouch. I showed up at 8 am. Needless to say I didn't get to preorder a PS3 or a Wii :(

I showed up at about 1:00 a.m. and there were six people in front of me. At various times at night, people would come by and ask why we were there and we had a few assholes making threats and such. One of the campers threatened a heckler, telling him if they tried anything he'd hit them with a crowbar. I heard there was an R.Kelly look-alike with three teeth that showed up but I missed him.

For the most party I just froze, I brought a blanket and I was wearing a jacket, but it turned out to be much colder then it had initialy seemed. It was pretty boreing and uneventful until about 8 o'clock when the manager arrived and gave us the bad but expected news. 4 PS3s, and 10 Wiis. I was 7th in line so the PS3 was out of my grasp but I already have one pre-ordered elsewhere so I wasn't too dissapointed. She told everyone after the 10th person in line to go home because everyone except one guy wanted a Wii (they allowed people to pre-order both systems) and a lady for the Elmo line came and hopped in the Wii line since her friends had arrived which filled up the pre-orders. The manager told us she would hand out tickets at about 8:30 so we all could leave and come back at opening. However she comes back out later and tells us there was a riot in New York so now she can't hand out tickets until 10:30 (they opened at 11).

So, while I'm stuck in line for another two hours, the police show up and pull some guy to the side. At first I thought he was going to resist because he kept asking what they wanted instead of taking a walk with them like they told him too, but he had enough common sense to go. After they pull him aside they realize he wasn't the person they are looking for and it was the guy in line who had a crowbar. He was second in line so everyone was silently hoping he'd get arrested, lol. After all that drama 10:30 finally arrives and they lady starts handing out tickets. The last guy in line gets totally screwed because a lady who had been waiting in the Elmo line, came over and stood in the Wii line even though the last guy had been waiting in the correct line longer, the manager gave the ticket to the lady. Sucks to be him.

At this point I went to Walmart, came back and pre-ordered my system, got something to eat from Hardee's, then nearly killed myself driving half asleep for 60 miles to get home.

I checked out my local toys r us around 12, after watching Eureka 7. There were 6 people there and i freaked. I tried to get some sleep and go there at 3 in my original plan but i didnt wanted to wait and lose my spot. I did manage to sleep an extra hour and eat before i left my house. When i got there around 1:20 in the moring, 3 other guys had came, so i was number 10. I brought with me a camera, nds, lawnchairs, and hand warmers. So for about 3 hours i was standing in line talking to the people in front of me and taking pictures of people show up. Why was i taking pictures? To show my brother in Kuwait what i was doing that morning. around 3 o clock i got a tired and was freezing. so i ask everybody if it was ok if i went to my car and sleep for a bit and get my spot back later. So have 3:30 I went to sleep. Around 5:00 one of guys i was talking to woke me up by knocking my car window. So for the next hour and 30 mins i waited for the manager. When he came he said there was 2 ps3, 10 wiis, and 60 elmos. I was soo freaking happy that i was got the last wii.

Got to TRU before midnight with my friend and when we got there, the place was empty. I had successfully reserved a PS3 from EB but need a Wii and (hopefully) another PS3 pre-order. After about 2 hours of Doom 2 on our laptops, a couple more people started to show up and it was getting rather cold. People were talking, and during that we told them how many systems they were getting(it was obvious people were going home empty handed). They ignored us and it was really uneventful for the rest of the night. A couple DS games with people in line and a lot of talking. This one dude wouldn't shut up about how he was going to re-sell his PS3. It visibly annoyed everyone.

Around 8am, the manager comes to hand out tickets. My buddy got his PS3 pre-order, and I got my Wii pre-order along with another PS3 pre-order. It was too cold to stay and laugh at the a majority of the people that got turned away. Maybe next time.

I managed to pre-order the wii when gamestop was taking preorders. I got to the store about 15 minutes before it opened and was 15th in line. When I got there I asked if they announced how many they were going to receive and they said around 30ish. Good thing I didn't have to wait or go looking everywhere.

I'm planning on that too, I just hope the locals don't go crazy on the prices.

BEST CAMP OUT EVER.

Here in San Diego we had the best PLAYSTATION 3 and Wii campout ever.

A group of gamers from SD TEKKEN (a local gaming group) ended up securing all 7 of the 60G PS3 units and a few of the Wii units by lining up at Saturday 1 AM beating out the rest of the crowd in San Diego at the National City Toys R Us. While most camp outs are considered hell, SDT took advantage of the 30+ hours spent by making it as fun and entertaining as possible.

Check out this set of pictures!

It was 2 nights of fun. The first night consisted of watching “Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story” on DVD and watching the latest PS3 and Wii trailers. The second night being the more exciting where we played Guitar Hero and the Guitar Hero 2 demo, Final Fantasy XII and finally rounded it off with a screening of Berry Gordy’s “The Last Dragon” !

It certainly was one of the best camp outs I’ve been a part of!

wow I'll just wait two year before I get a ps3 that way I won't have to worry about all the kinks and probs the first few waves will have.

the wii i'm getting right off the bat. Nintendo hardware and software have always been reliable. the third party crap sucks.

Well, thats true. If there is something that you can't trust at Sony is their 1st generations products. The same applies for Microsoft CONSOLES too, and Nintendo has a good historial so far, but the first DS lites came broke (little cracks).

story, meh tis nothing to be honest, i got to my gamestop down the street from which I can literally skate board to and be there in about 8 minutes flat. I get there and there's only 2 peeps. the 1st guy was there at 3am and the other at 5:30 or 6am ( iforget) i go there at 6:30am and was #3. I chilled in my bug till about 8:30 am and was somewhat dozing off beoforehand while listening to the radio. finally 8:30 rolls around and step out of my bug and chill with the 1st 2 people there talking about what we're going to get and all. the 2nd dude was in high school, ditched school to get the wii, right on and had been saving to for this thing to just pay, pick up at launch and go. the start letting us in 9:55 or so and then I slap my $86 bucs store credit for the wii. throughout that time there a total of about almost 30 people in line and I don't think the remainder got to it but i might be wrong. In conclusion: $200 store credit for wii + PS3 for FREE = OWNED O_O
