Why does it matter that much man? Seriously. Lag abuse is pretty much subjective to the person using it/or on the receiving end. If the connection sucks then its obvious going to be some lag abused during the set from either parties. I dont know... This is a really pointless thread and debate that will never end <_<. Can someone close this thread?

I listen to you 3s Masta when it comes to your threads . Now you are in my thread and I made this for my own personal benefit. I would like to know what is really consider Lag Abuse guidelines so that we all have the same understanding of what people are being accused of. I think personal that everything can be blocked and lag abuse is a cop out, execept for tick throwing.

Well I mean if you really want to know what lag abuse is. There is no real way to define it. Im not trying to be a dick. But there are certain things that will work online and wont work offline. There is a fine line in that especially with lag involved. Such as:

Repeated jump ins
Spamming unsafe moves(ie: machine gun blow, akuma/ryu hurricane kicks etc)
Denjin(this goes with out saying)


Even tick grabs can be considered lag abuse simply because of the fact that you cannot tech grabs on reaction online. You have to anticipate them. To many forms of lag abuse to explain man. But honestly it doesnt really matter like ive been saying for the longest time.

I am glad to see the input so far on this thread and honestly 3s Masta I joined SrK at first to get at Waggs for all the times he dogged me . The more I got to meet the people and find out how its more like a family is why I still post. I just want to cut out the bullshit and play the game . From now on you won't see me on here stiring the pot :wgrin: but I still want to know any comments on peeps views on Lag Abuse.

.1) The excessive* use of moves demanding quick reflexes or precise parrying to counter.

Urien mid-screen unblockables (tech rolling suffers and parrying out is harder).
Elbow Slash into Stungun headbutt.
Repeated jump-ins.
Repeated EX Machinegun Blow.
Dash throws.
Full screen Denjin.
low attack, overhead, low attack, overhead, low attack...
Run away Akuma air fireballs.
Dive kicks.

.2) Exploiting the opponents latent reactions to render unsafe moves, safe.

Shoryuken, Shoryuken.
Blocked/whiffed hurricane into special or super (Ryu especially).
Blocked/whiffed punishables into mashed super.

*Beyond what could be expected to work offline.

when you know what you're about to attempt wouldn't work if the connection wasn't shitty, that's lag abuse.

For example, i played dan the other night, nice chap on the boards, but repeated head stomps each round and countless elbow dashes vs a stocked sa3-ken. you don't even need to reversal it to punish, it's obvious, it's disgusting, it's lag abuse.

Seriously Shep, the term "lag abuse" is a very subjective term. If you're using tactics that you know will not work offline or taking advantage of your opponents hinderance to stop things on reaction (tick throws, whiff Hurricane->SRK), then it's lag abuse. I guess you have to use your own judgement and if you aren't sure, then you'll learn over time by experience and many BG's.:lol:

You and I have had about 4 or 5 long sets in the past and personally, I don't feel you "lag abuse" at all, at least not against me. I don't think you are a bad player either. All you need is more practice and experience. You will get better over time.

Don't stress over these kinds of things, 3s Masta is right, it's pointless. As long as you try to play honestly and as close to offline as possible, then your conscience will be clear.:tup:

Yeah...but if it was all that simple then the forum wouldn't be as interesting. As much as we'd like to wish that everyone would just stop complaining...in all reality if no one complained then we'd have nothing to laugh at or get in the middle of with random comments. If anything...people complaining about lag abuse is what makes the forum enjoyable for me. Fun to watch people attack themselves over BS Live games.

Anyone who plays on Live exclusively is a lag abuser. If they deny it, they're just oblivious to it because they have nothing to compare it to. Anyone who plays on and offline but only wins excessively on live and not too much offline... is a lag abuser.

But why do you care?... just have fun and play people who don't bitch. But yea you're probably a lag abuser.

So he bought rims and didnt even OWN A CAR!!! That is even worse!! Unbelievable! BG's to your wheel getting smashed. My chrome rim starting corroding and I had to get a new one. That sucked. But over a 100,000 miles on the Z and I bought it brand new 7.5 years ago. She still runs like a beauty. So I can't complain about my car too much. Although after a 100,000 miles the car isnt as fast as it used to be. So I guess it LAGS a little bit. Oops, sorry I complained about lag.

I've never really played offline that much. Not even in arcades. My only offline experience is playing single player xbox arcade and when I played SF2 Turbo on the SNES. Does that make me a lag abuser. I guess i'm a natural born lag abuser. God, i'ts so stupid to even mention it. I've mentioned it, so that makes me stupid. The fuck with lag abuse talk.

OH wait... I played SF2 HF on the 360 just yesterday and I have to say that is the worst fucking game i've played online. God was I pissed. One second lag bs. I felt like I was playing SF for the first time. WOW! game's netcode sucks or something. Honestly! The Game online is a POS. I'll certainly never buy that crap.
