So on my 2 hour ride home i was thinking. I was willing to spend a lot of money just to get to and from town over the weekend, so I could easily front money to get him down here. Problem with all this is...well, I don't really know Alex so I'm not sure how that would fly. Maybe Adonis could be awesome and set something up?

OK I guess I better post up!! Dang it man I'm in a WoW dilemma and i don't know what to do lol. I'm sorry i haven't logged on or talked to you guys to let you know what is up and I just kinda left ya hanging so i'll just try to explain.
There are several reasons I haven't been on or finishing level. first of all I kinda felt like pressured like oh crap i gotta level quick now that the guild is made and i was kinda going at my own pace , but its not like it would take me that much longer to get to 60 anyway.
The main thing though, is that I have put SOOO much time into my mage on mannoroth. The guild i'm in I have been in since the first time we killed the snake boss in ZG. And we're in Naxxramas now. I don't know these guys like I know all of you guys, but I have been raiding/playing WoW with most of my guild so long that I feel like its messed up for me to just leave to go play on another server sort of.
On the other hand, I know you guys on boulderfist in real life and have been friends with you longer than the people in my Alliance guild, and I would love to be up there and raiding with you guys and downing bosses as a group! But I just don't know if I can talk myself into giving up the 60 + in game days that i've put into my mage on mannoroth. It would be literally starting over!! And with the expansion on the horizon by the time we put all the time into farming fire resist for a 40 man raid to clear mc through ragnaros the expansion will be out and it will be time to go get level 63 quest rewards that are better than MC loot anyway..!!!

If there was a way you could turn an alliance character into a horde and transfer them i would bring my character over instead of levling a new one and that would be great :(

So basically it all boils down to me having to choose between playing on my mage i've played hours every single day for the past year, or throwing all of that away to start over....and to be honest I like you guys all a lot and think it would be a lot of fun, but I don't know if I can bring myself to do that.

Just throwing this out there even though I'm pretty sure you guys wouldn't want to do this, but if you felt like rolling alliance characters on mannoroth I could definitely help you guys out with stuff and get you into my guild once you level up!!! But anyway, I'll definitely at least be able to help you guys if you get enough people to do mc and stuff like that with any tips or strategy type questions, just not sure if Irobot is gonna be able to make it up there to be with you :(

The truth is your going to start a new character sooner or later. The sooner you do closer you'll be to 60 when the update comes. At the very least I think you can make it to 35. Also when the update comes whats the rush the content as going to be there for you on the first day, the same as it will when you get your new character to 60. Like everything else in life its a choice and it one only you can make.

i can say this, i have played both sides and the horde is just way more fun for me(to each his own), got a lvl 50 gnome rogue that i played with a bunch of fsu peeps on stonemaul but boulderfist has just been the most fun because of so many people i know on the server in real life, if anyone wants to make a horde character go on boulderfist, i guess the main turnoff 4 me on monorath was the pop. que time, when i was a noob it kinda turned me off

I appreciate that you have invested a lot of time into the mage and I would never ask you to drop him. We just want you to play with us a couple of times a week. As far as pressure, the guild was jumped into I know, but the idea was yours! You level when you can, they only bitched after you disappeared for a month. Even if you got us goin in the right direction for endgame I could forgive you but you're at a point when your growth within the game is stagnant and thats boring. Maybe not to your tier two ass (Logan has a superiority complex, thats why he only plays "top tiers" in any game), but building a character is where the real value is. Additionally there is a sense of family. When I play with any of the Tallahassee crew its a much different experience. we joke and laugh and learn together, and I'm not worried that one of them are gonna fuck up. If for some unlikely reason I fuck up I'm not gonna get berated and/or kicked. Plus, I KNOW WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE! Finally, as Jay said, eventually you will restart.

Good points mike and Jay. And yeah my character is already level 46. you know I was real hyped for the ps3 but its coming out with like no games wtf. Sure there is suppose to be madden and metal gear 4, but I heard madden is going to be the suck, cause there going to short change it like they did 360's version. So the ps2 version of that is going to still be the best around. And Metal Gear is going to be the shit, but it going to be the only game worth playing on the system til at least may or maybe even september.

Thats a long time to be leaning on one game, especially when the damn system and game together are going to be like $700+. Has anyone looked at the game release dates for the Ps3. And when I looked up some games to find info most companies havent even figure out how to make an engine to run the games on the system. Like final fantasy released all this stuff, but now they released an article saying it was just cg, and that they dont know how long there white engine will take before they can release anything with gameplay.

Add that with the fact that Devil May Cry4, Fight night, ninja gaiden, anything from koei, wont even be ready til like may. Other things like Vf5, and tekken 6 wont be ready til even further back than that. Makes me ask myself what the hell Im I going to be playing on this amazing 700 dollar machine. It looks like my ps2 games. And that would suck cause that means Im paying a lot of money for the games to load faster.

So Im asking who here is getting a ps3? And for everyone that is getting one are you a lil concerned that there wont be any quality games to play on it for a considerable amount of time. I mean when the ps2 hit you had tag, mgs3, madden, dynasty warriors, and a couple more pretty good titles to hold you over. No, I wouldn't sell my Wii. It all depends on who you are, Chris. Personally, I look forward to Zelda, Mario (the real Mario game, not the stupid spinoffs), Metroid, Trauma Center, Red Steel, Rayman, Smash Bros., Dragon Quest, Sonic, and WarioWare. And that's just off the top of my head. A game can be 'kiddy' but it can still be fun, and fun trumps kiddy, in my book.

I can only name 2 PS3 games (Devil May Cry 4, FFXIII) I definitely would get, and only 2 (Tekken 6, Virtua Fighter 5) I'd consider getting. And those are games that probably won't be out for at least a year, aside from VF5. And Gears of War is the only Xbox 360 game I'd consider getting (already have Oblivion for PC).

not to be rude but why would you have a tournament around thanksgiving. Going to a video game tourny around that time is probably that last thing anybody is even considering doing. Good luck with that though.

Anyway yeah the games I want to play on the ps3 are ff13, msg4, t6,vf5, gta4, dmc4, and dw. But outside of msg4 none of those games will be out before june next year thats a long time to just look at a console. But there reports and everything people are out in full.

Yeah nintendo does make a lot of kiddy games, but if there is a new mario and zelda then I want to play it. All that other crap can go to hell. I do think that the wii will be fun for a while then it will kind of go the way of the dodo for me. I dont think that its going to be a good system for fighters and hardcore rpgs, and thats all I really care about.

It provided hope to black people cause it showed that against all odds we could win against a system designed to defeat us. And if you dont believe that theres nothing more that I can say to you.

What got lost in all of the racially motivated emotions, was the fact that two families suffered a great deal of lost. Its funny, because I was just thinking the other day that if I needed a subjective opinion on something that Jay would be one of the best people to ask because he is so opinionated, yet his opinions come from life experience and self attained knowledge rather than hear-say. I've heard black and white people (some red and yellow people too!) argue about O.J. for 10 years. Yet, no ones tryin to argue that hes innocent. Its always the arguement Jay mentioned before. But me personally, I think its all ignorant because O.J. has become a mini-hero for african-americans, when his guilt or innocence had nothin to do with skin color. Ask a white person. I never the whole time heard a white person say, "I hope they find him guilty cause he's black." The trial just meant two total different things to two demographics. Dispite popular belief, in my opinion, it was actually a slap in the face of most blacks in America, because he proved that it doesn't matter what you do IF YOU HAVE MONEY! What did black people gain from this? I know a few white lawyers that gained a lot of money. O.J. was (and still is; hence this attrocious book) broke as a joke. Johnny Cochran, god rest his soul, before he died came out and said even though the case was the crowning moment in his career that he was ashamed of his part in it! Black people got a sense that he beat the system and they could too. But, the majority of people in America can't afford what O.J. did to get off. Its not heroic its insulting. He basically said if the seventy percent minority population within the U.S. prison system had had 20 million dollars to defend themselves they'd be playin golf on the beach too!

The legal system always has been and always will be designed to bring justice to those upper 4% of americans who can truly afford it. More importantly its about money, power, and influence. Its not about race. Thats why I gave the him the fuck u. Basically he's became a figure that represented some form of black triumph, but its false. Its dishearting to me as an african american to know that at one point he was celebrated by my entire culture. With this book coming out you have to take a step back and announce him for what he is. He is not an iconic figure he's someone that belongs in jail.

Its like I said earlier it was a product of the times. With the riots, clarence thomas, the economy, cover up from the war,gang violence, hip hops dark explosion, and rodney king. People needed something. Sadly that trial was it. When that cop was expose as a kkk member, and he called oj a nigga. Nothing else mattered. At that point in time all those issues that lingered outside came flooding in. If he would have been found guilty america would have almost come to the point of a social colapse. Its evidence how people hung on every moment during that time. the legal system was thrust in the role of the oppressor because of that cop. To many blacks the suggestion that he manipulated evidence, and the fact that he had a racial disposition against black people. It all just felt too familiar.

Im officially a throw character whore. If they can pick a motherfucker up by the neck in combo form then I'm all for them. Also in the words of ed charge characters are just easier than everyone else I love them mother fuckers too. But a fireball here and there to help the charge doesnt hurt.

Just for the fuck of it List of my all time favorite fighting game characters:

1. Guile- all I need is two moves bitch. it was good in 1990 and there still damn good today. Oh yeah the white boy flat top is too pimp.
2. Zangief- the original drop a bitch on there head master. I just wish they bring back the instant dizzy headbutt.
3. Marduk- ground and pound!!
4. King- admit it the first time you saw his chain grabs you thought that shit was hot.
5. Urien- crush!
6. Hugo- He tough enough to carry a dude in a drag with him. Its like prison in public
7. Makoto- I dont know why I just do
8. Potemkin- pot man!
9. Ryu- the reason I wanted to play anything in 1989.
10. Ganny- everyone loves the fat man.

Theres more but thats the top ten I would switch bison for potemkin depending on my mood.

Has anyone taken a good look at KoF2006? It's a fun flashy little game, but it's definitely BROKE AS SHIT. Just watching the computer play some matches, and trying some things out myself in practice mode, that game is way more broke than T5.0.

It has all the main elements of the other KoFs(short jumps, ultimate supers, that wierd move that does an auto kd, etc), but since it's 3d, you also have basic elements like SSing, techrolling, etc.

The combo system is VERY loose. Everyone has basic 3-6 hitting strings, most of which are special/super cancellable. However in this game, once someone is knocked down, there are a few frames where they have to lay there and cannot tech roll or get up. Most characters have launchers in their strings and b/c of this, relaunch combos (and possibly infinites) are very possible. Damn near any mid hits grounded, and grab characters can most certainly pick you back up off the ground, and have throws built into their strings. So it seems maximum dmg is done by j.fierce, ground string into kd, relaunch--->special--->super. Desperation attacks still do insane amounts of dmg, and there are some supers that do alot of dmg as well. Wall shenanagans get really dumb, and combos that usually don't work full screen will work by the wall, and usually will net u alot more damage.

They have a parry system in this game that kind of reminds me of Soul Calibur. Everyone has a parry, and everyone gets free attack attempts after their parry, but depending on what you parry, the opponent can parry your punish attempt. I haven't tested if you could parry the middle of strings or not, or if you could parry projectiles.

Off the jump the most broke character so far seems to be Kyo. Lots of priority and dmg, and all his supers are INSANE. Both of them can be charged, and while he's charging them, he has TOTAL invincibility to everything except throws. One of them tracks SS, hits OTG, can relaunch, and do insane amounts of dmg. If he charges it for the full duration, it can kill u and/or totally break your guard. Maxima seems to be a good mid tier throw character; I think Jay would like him alot. GREAT pokes, lots of throw shenanagans, and a throw super that does insane amounts of dmg and has NO recovery at the end which would allow for relaunch combos and the like. The ice chick from KoF11 is in this game too (Diamond or something like that, can't remember), but she's definitely low mid or low tier. She has some cool little strats, but she's lacking in the dmg department compared to the rest of the cast. Alot of her strings are delayed on startup, although some hit grounded very consistantly which means she probably has some killer oki.

Wow I just read the craziest shit. This guy was arguing on the forums that sean is mid tier. I wanted to reply there but whats the point, you cant tell some people anything. Its some guy from panama city and he is saying that he can beat people there with sean so sean in mid tier. that simple thats the argument. He said that tiers are based on damage potential, how versatile a character is, and easy of use. I recently started fucking around with sean, since he's one of the last characters I havent learned. And I can tell you this he is fun, but as a character he is not finished. i cant even say that he sucks, cause he just feels like he is missing things almost everyone else in the game has in spades.

Like over 90% of his moves are punishable, especially when playing against top tiers. Ken owns him for free. if you are at the character select screen and you pick sean and someone else picks ken it just says you lose right there. its that bad. He also has the worst priority in the game. Hell a bunch of his normals and special leave him unsafe on hit. If you even want to stun someone give the dream up as he has the worst stun potential in the game. He only has two true gatling strings. Absolutely no rush down potential. and limited mix ups. The more you use him the more you will rely on throw like a bnb combo. Cause its his best consistent damage dealer.

Ok to be fair he can do damage. But its situational damage like a motherfucker. You have to create the situation where someone is nearly stunned and in the corner. Let me tell you now thats never going to happen. I dont care if your in practice mode its never going to happen. He also has hit confirm supers. But even that just brings you back to more bad. He builds meter the worst simple cause if your in a match you never have an advantage to allow you build meter. All his ex moves are unsafe. His specials are the easiest to parry. Just a window into his suckage his best super is a fireball. That hits one time. Hell ken ex fireball is better than his best super.

Q can do tremedous damage. Is fairly safe and has a super with a fuck load of invinsibility fames which allow him to punish a lot. He also has frame traps, and throw mix ups . Not to mention the best taunt in the game. Twelve has a bunch of priority in the air, at least one half life combo and numerous overhead mix ups. He also goes under fireballs and has a taunt which opens to window for tons of mind games. The best players in the world have found themselves in trouble when facing a good twelve. Hell daigo use twelve to win a tourney a few years back. These are the next two worst characters in the game and sean is not even close to them.

Yea i feel you man. I am always down for gaming but the ONLY reason i havent been able to come over and give ya some comp is because my car is starting to give me problems. Maybe one day ill ride over there with adon. Even still its the holidays and i work in Retail at a fucking gamestore... I've finally figured out how to start landing Johnny's Jackhound combos more consistantly w/o having to RC them. It nets RIDICULOUS dmg.

I have a new crossup with Eddie that leads to an unblockable when Eddie STARTS in the corner.

I have a CH missle combo w/ Robo-Ky that leads to death on normal characters when your guard guage is up SLIGHTLY.

As far as tekken is concerned, i have some new wall BS with Kazuya that I think is pretty good. Soooooo.....

I was half way into VP2 when then shit hit the fan and FFXII came out followed by a slew of other aweseome titles..... So not yet if ever.. :(

As for FFXII, Chars level 37+ Inside Sohen Cave Palace. Solved waterfall puzzle and beat the shit out of the mandragoras. After i finish this dungeon i am heading back to level to 46+ to kill them hos in the Nechrohol of Naubudis to get the Zodiac spear. Then back to the Stilshrine of Miriam to claim some Zeromus. After that back to leveling to 50+ revamping those 100+ Gambits (pain in my ass), then on to continue the story....

characters lvl 80+ , all gambits, spells, and skills bought. all espers except for one. only four hunts left. completed boards. Only last boss left. I just cant beat darkja so I kind of stop playing it was a good game until I ran into the last esper. I dont think you should have to rely on luck to beat a boss. Its random if he cast instant death on your whole party or if its just the dark spell. So even with a ribbon you there is still a 50/50 chance he can wipe your whole party with one move. Which wouldnt be so bad if he didnt cast it a lot!!! His regular attacks also put disease on you characters meaning they'll only have 1 hit point even after you bring them back to life. To make it even worst when he starts to cast darkja you lose the ability to take an action. So you just sit there and die constantly.
All of this is bad but there is one thing that really upsets me he is in the middle of a map with no save point near him. So every time you die it takes a long time to get back. there is a way to beat him but you have to wait til right before he puts on his pailing and try to get a quickening that does 60,000 damage. You know from fucking with quickenings that that doesnt happen often if ever. I have over a hundred hours and I have yet to be able to do it. Sorry for the rant but everytime I think about it I get pissed off.

I just cant beat darkja so I kind of stop playing it was a good game until I ran into the last esper. I dont think you should have to rely on luck to beat a boss. Its random if he cast instant death on your whole party or if its just the dark spell. So even with a ribbon you there is still a 50/50 chance he can wipe your whole party with one move. Which wouldnt be so bad if he didnt cast it a lot!!! His regular attacks also put disease on you characters meaning they'll only have 1 hit point even after you bring them back to life. To make it even worst when he starts to cast darkja you lose the ability to take an action. So you just sit there and die constantly.
All of this is bad but there is one thing that really upsets me he is in the middle of a map with no save point near him. So every time you die it takes a long time to get back. there is a way to beat him but you have to wait til right before he puts on his pailing and try to get a quickening that does 60,000 damage. You know from fucking with quickenings that that doesnt happen often if ever. I have over a hundred hours and I have yet to be able to do it. Sorry for the rant but everytime I think about it I get pissed off.

I beat him on my third try. Also, KOF96 Omega Rugal is easy, CoA Magneto too!

As for the last esper why dont you get the final Quickening Area effect attack. Its Called Black hole i think its one after Whiteout. If you do 4 of each level 1 ,2 , and 3 spell it will come out. Reportedlly able to do 60, 000 plus NOT including the damage from the quickenings themselves. I know that would be hard as fuck but good luck.

I would doubt that someone would waste the encoding of 1080p for the psps 400x 170 format. (5"screen) If a normal tv runs at 640x480 (480i) and 1080p is like 10x(?) the size. Its like 2780(?)x1080 The visuals would be far below playable standards and on a HD TV sub par gfx LOOK SHITTIER. Theres no way they would ever charge for a game that couldnt even be playable on a normal 480i tv. I think its a direct arcade port and NOT a psp port. IMHO.

happy birthday matt. on a side note I can tank with my regen scrapper. Our tank quit mid mish after dying in some mob. And there was me and bunch of squishy ATs. Im squishy but Im more melee oriented so I had to tank and to my surprise on invincible I was able to do it without running into any trouble. Its funny lotus drops aoes everyone and keeps them attacking me like taunt. and then I have like every healing power known to game. So my life would go to 1 pt then my defence kicked in and nothing could hit me then my life would shoot all the way up before I got smacked again. Scrapper is a broken ass AT and I love it. Anji is better than Eddie. Eddie does have some cheap ass shenanagans, but sometimes you all let me get away with MURDER lol. If you're not watching out for it, random guardpoint move into counter can be VERY annoying, and for some reason his f.K is one of the best pokes in the game. Eddie's pokes are horrible (aside from j.K and his punches), and once you all get a little better I'll be tearing a little more often. Chris was blocking hella mixups yesterday, even towards the end when I was on some Japanese type shit.

Eddie gatling--->buzzsaw summon is not a guaranteed string; you can jump or sj out of it.

You can wake him up all day and not worry about DPs, wakeup supers, etc, b/c he doesn't have any dps, and his wakeup super whiffs at throw range. Characters like Sol, Ky, Axl, Zappa, Testament and Baiken have little problems with him (unless you're Ogawa). He's just a solid mid tier character with RETARDED mixups.

Now if you want to talk stupid, then Sol/Ky/Faust/Johnny/Testament/Jam/Slayer is where it's at. Retarded damage for days that NO ONE can do anything about. :sweat:

GG:AC is looking tighter by the minute. I thought it was broke, but after watching some good Johnny, Eddie, May, Faust, Slayer, HOS and Jam, it might not be as broke as I thought. Eddie is still a beast, Johnny does RIDICULOUS dmg w/o divine blade combos, Jam is still crazy, and Faust now deals dmg off of everything. The force breaks look to make very interesting gameplay, and the japanese are still getting used to breaking throws (I've seen 1 throw break in about 9 vids). I think they're going to the XX concept where everyone is broken but balanced. I'm DLing a Robo-Ky match now, but I really like the changes to Johnny, Eddie, and HOS so far. I already have some combo concepts I want to try with Eddie, b/c his new unblockable seems to be braindead easy in terms of timing. If/when this game comes out in the US, it will definitely bring a fighting revival. I just hope it comes out soon enough for me to get into it :wgrin:

So I played some 5.0 yesterday with Dre, and WOW, Raven has so many more tech traps it's sickening. We also came up with ALOT of new tech traps for Kazuya. He was listening to my Feng and Kaz setups, and showed me some pretty cheap Jack-5 stuff as well. If anyone cares, I'll show all the dumbness when I return. Hopefully I get to play some slash soon.

Edit: If you all get a chance, go to TZ and DL the TZ community vid act 2. I have several combos in there with Raven and Bruce. The Raven combos are around 17:30 and 44:30. The vid is like 46 min long.

Raven is high-mid in DR. TONS of shenanagans, great pokes, decent mixups, oki out the ass, great damage. 1+2 is ok, but not all that of an aggressive in-your-face character as opposed to Mishimas, Feng, Koreans or Steve.

I got HELLA good strats from AKA for Johnny, Eddie, Slayer and ABA. Him and I have been having some HELLA good matches; I wish someone would've capped some of them to put on youtube. Definitely, imho, very good high tier play (other than my random shadow galleries with Eddie :bluu: )

No real DR shit as of yet, hopefully I'll be able to play slips this upcoming week, along with Hatman and STLBB.

Played slips in DR, and WOW julia does hella off of NOTHING. Once DR hits PS3 the practice mode BS is going to be VERY interesting, b/c namcos were running rampant all last night in STL. DR hitboxes are just as bad as 5.0.
