Cheater! It's not real! Nobody could ever do this on a real NES because this game's controls are too poor!
Just kidding. I love TAS movies. Good job.
Wtf, you made a speedrun? I just saw this on the tas site then had to come back to SRK to check if it was the same Dasrik. It says this is your second speedrun. What was your first?
Also how long did it take you to make? And why didn't you use the Genesis version of TMNT since it's better since Sega is awesome?

My first is Super Dodge Ball. No AVI of it yet.
And it took about two weeks or so, although I probably only spent about 8 days of that recording (there was a period where I thought I shouldn't continue with it). I did it for the NES one because it was my favorite Turtles game (I haven't played Hyperstone Heist yet... I might give it a shot) ^_^
what do you mean by tool-assisted???

I used an emulator, save-states and slow motion. Many people think speedruns like that are "not real", but let's not get into that debate here.
Cool. It turned out really well i think. Actually i'm interested in how you did it. The two main advantages to doing tool assisted speedruns is that you get to slow the game down and you get to redo stuff if you make a mistake, right? So it must take forever to do even the simplest things cuz you have to obsessively optimize everything.
Actually i've been watching speedruns from that site for a while now. The Sonic ones are my favorite but i always wonder why nobody ever makes a Golden Sonic speedrun. He doesn't even run! He hovers like Goku!!
Also every once in a while someone makes a speedrun for a game that i actually played back in the day, and those are always awesome. Too bad some of my favorite games really don't lend themselves to speedruns. For example, speedruns for Streets of Rage games are always really repetitive and kinda boring. The speedruns for fighting games are even worse.
Someone needs to make a Streets of Rage 2 "stylerun" where they use emulator tools to do crazy setups/combos/gimmicks. Unless, i dunno, there really isn't much to show/explore.

Someone is working on an "all emeralds" run for S3&K, but it's with Knuckles.

It sounds good, and there are actually a few runs on the page like that, mostly the fighting game-related ones (there's a really good Mortal Kombat 2 run, and a fairly crazy Super Street Fighter II run with Zangief). The current SOR2 run uses Max, which is an odd choice for a speedrun; I thought it was entertaining, but was thinking maybe one with Blaze would be more fun if slower.

This makes me want to do a speedrun of Shinobi 3.
And yeah, that Max speedrun in SOR2 was dope. His slide is too good.
