i've started getting crazy about half life 2 .
i really want to play half life 2 death match with my friends throught lan XD .

have anyone tried half life 2 : portal ? very innovative . it sure fun for people who love puzzles , except retarded FPS players who self-compensate themself with big guns and goes tanking blindly .

i'm expecting sven co-op source , haven't heard any news about it ,can anyone post some half-life website for updates ? so any good half-life 2 mods ?

and anyway i'll start this poll . half life 2 or half life 1 deathmatch is better ?

source has recoil problems and tons of random headshots going on. The only thing bad about 1.6 is the rampant hacking going on, other than that it's the superior game.

I like source better then 1.6. I don't play it professionally so I don't understand all the little stupid tricks that make 1.6 supposedly superior but it seems to me that all the old 1.6 pros can't get used to the fact that the recoil doesn't run up and to the left everything single time and that its to random (which seems to me like how recoil should be). Hell in 1.6 I'd just hold my gun down and to the right at the floor and just spray and I'd hit people in front of me.

Well recoil isnt random, it does always go in the same direction depending on the weapon. Yes I actually know this I have actually qualified with a M16/M4/Saw/M9 and shot a M60 and some other things.

You're welcome! I used to play the "Toons" map so many times.. I remembered where everything meant.. even getting the secret weapon (those roof tongue monsters). Not sure how one gets to the little glass floor island on the 2nd map..

Depending on the gun like a Saw if you aim at the floor it would move up slightly. The natual recoil in the gun would make it go up,

First off i played for zEx for 2 yrs. We won WCG Gold with our lineup so get off the sarcasm. Out of a 5 player team it depends on money really. But lets say de_dust2 with full money. CT = 1Awp4Colts (or if 2awp/3colt if you have the talent) Usp or deagle (depends on personal preferance.) defuse, flashes, and HE nades. Same thing for T side cept swap the colts for ak's. Some ppl use the Galil and Famas if the money is tight, but id rather get deagle/armor and save for the next round.

Edit: The game like any is broken down to about 5-6 guns and 10-12 decent maps.
Colt, AK, Usp, Glock, Deagle, Awp, Galil (its like the letter y).
All tourney maps are de_maps. the OG ones are de_inferno, de_dust2, de_nuke, de_train, and de_cbble.
Newer ones made just for tourney play have come around and get heavy play also. These include de_russka, de_comrade, de_cpl_mill, de_cpl_fire , and de_cpl_strike.

:lol: i know this is srk, but i wasn't being sarcastic. i asked about the clan and server because i wanted to see if i could find some demos. i guess it would have been better just to ask. i'm in a scoutknivez clan, so when playing scrim maps, scout is my primary usually. if i ever get on an ass kicking spree with any other gun other than a scout (or colt), i'm getting lucky. what's your mouse sensitivity and how does it compare to other higher level players? right now mine is 11.9 if i'm scouting, and 13.4 if i'm knife only(in low gravity).

also i suck with ak. got any pointers?

You can find the demos at gotfrag.com. Thier older so youll need geekplayer to play them. Well with the xp mouse fix and windows mouse sens at default i usually play with 3.1... 11.9 would be impossible to control on my setup so our windows sens are prob different. Shooting the Ak. First you have to know that the with the AK it only take 4-5 bullets in the chest (with armor). So at long range i would just tap out the bullets one by one. Close range you should learn how to spray with it. The best way to practice is to go to a wall and spray and try to adjust your aim so all your bullets hit the same place. Try different distances and shooting styles. With the colt the adjust is down to the left but with the ak its a bit more radical. Also your first bullet out of an ak ALWAYS hits its mark if your standing still. Crouching also helps reduce recoil.

Before large events 6 or so hours a day. Before cpl and wcg bootcamp at lan centers for about a week at a time.
Scrims&matches are MR15 so basically 15 rounds ct 15 rounds t side. Most important thing to learn is money management and teamwork.
