Music can be found elsewhere, but the selection on oink is far better than most other sources online, except for possibly newsgroups. And not only can you find the albums you want, you can find quality rips of them. Most of the albums on OiNK come with the covers, rip logs, nfos, etc. I also don't have to worry about mp3s skipping or popping, fucked up tags, or albums with varying bitrates that arent encoded at a vbr setting.

And its easy to keep your ratio up if you leave your torrents seeding. If you're a "snatch and run" type of downloader, you won't last long on OiNK nor do we want to keep you around. Bittorrent is successful because of people who share. If you want to leech, find a newsgroup or a private irc channel or something.

I just did some searches for stuff I found on OiNK, and I didn't get any results for these on torrentspy or isohunt or demonoid:

MF Doom Black Album Remix
Ratatat - 9 beats
Dexter's laboratory the hip hop experiment

I could go on, and I'm sure you could find these somewhere if you look hard enough, but the point is the music selection on oink is pretty good, and you're going to get a quality rip. Not only that, but unless you have access to some private newsgroups, you're probably going to find rips/releases/advances on OiNK before anyplace else.

I have no problem with seeding, the problem comes in that nobody else downloads what I get. I guess genre might have a lot to do with it as well, but if I download a metal album, I may have my comp seeding for 5 days straight with a zero ratio. Comedy album do somewhat better since more people download them, but not by much. Oink is too diverse for its own good, while I am lucky to get something to 1.5 in a week, I can get that with any porn I download in the same day, with people always downloading.
