I hate it when people start making excuses after they lost a tourney:rolleyes: Those kids have it nice in a lag free environment. They think having a .3 second delay seriously effects their delicate "timing" game. Just a copout. Or perhaps playing on Lag has taught me how to adjust asap? lol.

From what I hear...they were using a projector (yeah...good idea) for actual tournament play. So basically...people thought they were playing on Xbox Live and RPD won and people cried. :tup:

True that. 3S isn't insanely difficult to play though so it's not like they can't catch up. I give them grief about their 3S play but they have good players in a lot of other games so I can't discredit them from that. Like you said...3S just doesn't have the scene it used to down there and they're actually doing a good job holding onto games where their scenes have died elsewhere (MVC2/CVS2 etc).

He's definitely one of the best Q players in the US. He really has a passion for playing Q. Dunno if he's better than my boy Ultra David but we'll see come FRX. I make both of them cry with my Ibuki so I can't really say for sure who is better.

Like I said before...the way the tournament came out was due to lack of knowledge about the effects of certain electronic devices (projectors) had on the inputs during your game. Projector screens are nice for watching movies but people have known for a while that they will screw your SF game. The time it takes for the image to move from the projector to your wall is what causes the delay and it's obvious for anyone who plays SF seriously. Unless you play on Xbox Live...then you're right at home. :lol:

Now that the console scene is getting bigger it's just these trial and error things the local tourney scenes will have to go through until they understand what works and what doesn't. If you do your research you can fix things before they happen though.

RPD was over at my place last night learning how to use a stick, and I have to say that he picked it up pretty fast. Now that we have him using a stick, maybe soon we can get him playing some new games/characters! (not likely though.)

All the RPD love/hate aside since the tourney, there were some good players at the little get together. Doujinshii for one, he's got a good Yun. He beat the crap out of me in casuals. Also, everyone I played used more than one character, so I could see people's skill being divided among the several characters they played unlike predictable me just using one.

Basically what I'm trying to say is, not neccessarily does 3S comp in FL suck, but I guess if I was at a tourney and a decent Necro, Elena, Alex or Makoto player was there, I'd be dead meat because I never play them (constanly anyway). Also, I was a dick about just sitting in the corner blocking and not doing anything and I guess some people weren't use to that. Some guy said I blocked him to death.

It has the Japanese balltop arcade stick with Sanwa buttons. They're pretty nice, I think about what I want to happen and they practically press themselves. Much nicer feel than those buttons they used on that SF 15th anniv. stick.:wasted:

There's no travel at all to them so all you do is just put the slightest pressure on them and a move happens. I thought they were broken the first time I touched them. Anyway, the two problems I'm having at the moment are right hand positioning over the buttons and using the damn stick. Doing super arts now is impossible as well as parrying.

As far as using a Japanese stick...remember to try not to hit the corners too hard when doing circular motions. You don't even really need to hit the diagonal corners when doing the motions. Just kinda start from down and follow the motion through. Just be delicate with the motion and it'll come out with practice. Practicing a lot in training mode helps to get you more consistant.
