Can someone place the xbox live or srk tags to the winners of 3s? lol... its funny how we all know each other through "alias" rather than our real names...

Well outside of financial issues there's no reason to not come out to a big event no matter your skill level (and at least the tourney fees for big events are never that expensive). You'll pick up quicker if you see how you match up against a lot of different players. You'd probably surprise yourself. At NEC quite a few of the people who made up the 40+ entries were random XBL scrubs or people trying to understand the game.

Hell...one of the guys on my team almost ousted Shinshay in teams and he had told me about an hour before that he wasn't sure where he needed to be in the game. Just like maybe an hour or so of pep talk and borrowing my stick was all he needed to get results. Running through Shinshay's pawn players and forcing him to comeback from what looked like a sure victory for my partner. Results that he would have had no idea he would be able to attain without showing up. If you already won a local tourney in your area you're already a cut above the rest. A lot of people wish they could say they have done what you just have.

i see where you coming from.. i guess i don't have faith in myself yet. i was playing an alex player( dont remember his name) and i heard some guy talking behind me.. i heard him call someone over and was like "yo watch this makoto player.. fucking sick." after i beat the alex player and i was getting up, he came up to me and shook my hand telling me that he never seen anyone play mak like that. i laughed cause i really dont think my makoto is that special.

Yeah DJ is right, you should still try to make it. My very first 3s tourney was vtyme3, I got knocked out by Ricky Ortiz in my very first set, lol. But even though that was mad early in my 3s time frame, it stuck with me more than anything else. Sure you probably won't win (well I dunno how good you are) but it'l increase your skill by so much and it'l still be cool just see and hang out with all the other srk-ers.
Good stuff with the tourney though. Hopefully I can make it to frx too, and maybe we can do some games :tup:

My 8 year-old callous is going to be sad, but I'm down to my last wire. I'm using a friggin' converter for a converter and it causes lag and sometimes just dies. If I can't splice this thing to seperate into 3 ports then I guess I'm SOL and have to pick up stick T.T;

Trust me, if RPD rookie can show up at FRX and play in 3S, ANYONE can show up at FRX and play in 3S. It's all about going out and meeting up with people you talk to across several states, or from another coast or country. Remember, people will remember how bad you played just as easy as they'll remember how good you played, meaning they won't give a crap in half a day's time. When you're no names like us, there's no pressure to put up some dynamite performance cause really people aren't looking for it. Doesn't mean they still don't enjoy watching you play.

I went to FR9 with 0 experience on arcade machine and still had fun. I got peaced out by a guy that SHOULDN'T have beat me thanks to my ignorance of stick and button position (I kept darting my eyes down at the cab to see if I had my fingers over the right buttons in mid fights) but was still fun.

I know...but I have to give in to the whole FL beef thing (or lack of it). I got money match vs. him at FRX. Following the beasting I gave him in teams at NEC (or random pressing of buttons ftw...whatever you call it). Supposedly they have an Ibuki player there now so he'll be ready for the ninja randomness.

Dounjinshi: I heard ZeroG came and took 1st at Arcade Renaissance #5 in FL. I look forward to fighting him come frx. I'm sad he didn't make it to #4 when I was there would've made for an interesting fight. Anyway, come summer time again, I'll be back Florida......

Instead of "I'm in your base killin' ur doodz" it'll be "I'm in your state winning your tournamentz"
