I know Bedfast Emperor said he uses a Magic Box, but along with his 'good luck finding one' I realized, I can't find one lol. Anyone using a generic one you can get from say... EB or GameStop? If so you like it? Have any complaints?
Thanks for the headsup.

Thanks for the headsup.I hear the Magic Box is the best one out there. I have two of them so i can use my lovely Dreamcast pads =) But yeah, best bet would be to check eBay =\

If you cant find one, I know that these work perfect with official PS2 controllers, so them and custom sticks would be okay to use.

Anyone have a link for a North American site that sells the Magic Box? I'm really interested in getting one myself. Thanks in advance.

North American site that sells Magic Box...think that'd be hard to find if not impossible. Product is usually only found on Asian sites and it's out of stock on those sites.

I got one called X Joy box,but it rumbles non-stop when I plug a Ps2 controller into it.It would be bearable if I had a stick,but unfortunately I don't have a Stick.

Besides the rumbeling is there any lags on the buttons or dirrectinal pad?

I have an X Joy Box and a Magic Box.
I used the joy box with a ps2 pad for almost half a year when first playing on xbl. I thought it was perfectly fine. After I got the HORI stick, I noticed that it didn't work with the Joybox.
I later tried the ps2 pad with the magic box and there was a NOTICEABLE difference in response times.
Bottom line - magic box is better than joybox even if you dont use a stick.
Even lower line - good luck finding one :arazz:

Dude I noticed with the magic box and DC pads you can only use 4 buttons. Are you using all 6 buttons and if so, how?!
Yeah Dood 120%

Thats really damn expensive for a magicbox tho. That'll work out at about $39-ish, not including the shipping from UK to US. I know theyre hard to find now, but there are a few alternatives out there which work well for official PS2 pads/sticks.
The DC stick wont work properly with the magicbox. For some reason Sega decided to make the far right buttons different to what you'll find on the pads, so the magicbox wont know what to make of them lol.

Yup, which really sucks cause i had those Ascii SF2 DC pads just collecting dust at home.

I'm using a PS2 to xbox/ game cube to xbox converter made by Gemini (you can order it off amizon.) It works decent for a regular psx dualshock. Since I'm having the same trouble as the rest of you with getting a magic box I also ordered a x joy box converter by mayflash. I'll let you know if it's better then the one by Gemini once I get it

I got the x joy box thconvertor today and it works well except the damn thing wont stop rumbeling. The buttons seem responsive and there is even a jack to plug in a memory card so you can talk on xbox live. Anyone figure out how to make the controller stop rumbeling except for getting a regulal psx controller?

So theres no way to turn off the rumble, is it annoying when playing or can u still play good and is it better than the Gemini that you got.

Anyone else have problems with their magicbox converter? I always hear how it's so perfect and all...well yeah the delay is unnoticeable but other things piss me off. The controller port is so sensitive that if you just move the wire sometimes it will act like it's disconnected and not work, or be half connected and then the controller bugs out pressing random buttons and the directional buttons go crazy too. These bug outs always happen and sometimes it automatically deletes someone from my friend list or signs me out of live/resets my xbox or something else crazy lol.
Oh yah...I used to also have a joybox converter. That was a total piece of shit when it comes to input delay.
