Died of natural causes [yesterday], home with his wife. The great cartoon guru will be missed.

Oh I thought he and Hanna died years ago! I guess when I heard Hanna died I just naturally added Barbera. Nevertheless... R.I.P.

I'm still saddened by Peter Boyle's passing...

He was 95 years old. He got very much accomplished in his timeframe, maybe more than expected. It was just his time to check out, like with us all eventually. He lived a good productive life. R.I.P.

"They had this huge challenge there where they normally produce 50 to 60 minutes a year, they had to do that a week, and instead of US$50,000 for a cartoon of six or seven minutes, they'd have about six or seven thousand and they had to make it half an hour. And so they redesigned the concept of animation, with this very simple design, very striking characters."
Dang, so that explains their repeating backgrounds...

Thank you for the years of laughter and childhood memories. I enjoyed all the cartoons hana & barbara produced. R.I.P
P.s. Slap Walt Disney and Crossdressing Tex Avery for creating a mouse that owns a dog and that damn rabbit.

Thankfully I have the Jonny Quest 4 disc set. God bless Hannah-Barberra. To me, Jonny Quest was the most genius production they ever made. Too bad it only lasted 26 episodes.
R.I.P. Joe. Good times.
Too many deaths this year. It's ridiculous.

Indeed. But, they kinda sucked compared to the original TV series. The New Adventures of Jonny Quest was pretty lame too. Questworld. lawl
I remember watching all 3 simulcasts on TNT, TBS and Cartoon Network. I was that bored. Can't front though, the New Adventures gave us Ezekial(SP?) Rage.
"And now to quote from the book of RAGE!!!"
I actually didn't care too much for his cartoons, rest in peace anyway.

the tv movies were so rediculously good..u cant deny that especially for all the cartoony stuff we got it was pretty adult or teenish i guess and no one was really doin that at the time. i mean johnny was finally becoming a teenager and having feelings for jesse. oh and in the first movie u find out race had an illigitamate daughter n shit. i wish i could get those movies on dvd.

Too true. Jonny Quest Versus The Cyber Insects is one of my favorite American cartoon movies.

Will this affect the chances of there being a Wildfire or CBS Storybreak dvd release?

Probably not. I'm sure he had people taking care most, if not all of his business' in his latter life. 95 is really, really old to be handling paperwork, etc.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
Most of the Hanna Barbera cartoons...kinda suck. You KNOW something is wrong with them when the PARODIES based on them (Harvey Birdman, Space Ghost: Coast to Coast) are a LOT more entertaining than the original series they are based on.
Seriously...nowadays, I can't sit through a single episode of the Flintstones or Top Cat...it just bores me to tears. Same goes with Scooby Doo.
Probably the only good thing to come out of Hanna Barbera from the original age was Tom & Jerry...nothing more.
Aside from that...RIP, I guess.

Because modern parodies of 60s children's cartoons would normally be more entertaining to a person living in the modern age?
