Live network is down the shitter.

The live network for 3s hasnt been maintianced in years. I can tell. just collecting dust in some corner over at MS office. The days of good connections are gone. I cant connect to half the people I used to play with anymore. We really need to get a hold of MS and either have fixed the damn servers or make SFAC BC for 360. MS doesnt care about Xbox anymore and I bet soon they will close down the Xbox servers. SRK.com and everyone that part of our community needs to get a petition or something going. SF3 online is just unplayable and its only going to get worst.:wasted:

Did you get a new router or something when this started happening? I have problems connection to certain people but if I set my xbox to the dmz on my router those probs go away.

Also I havent noticed any extra lag online, it's pretty much the same as it used to be.

if you can't connect to people it's because you've either got a new router that doesn't support port forwarding, or your opponent has got a new router that doesn't support port forwarding. i don't know if isps can block ports but that'd do it too.

xboxlive hasn't changed, i've been around for ages, good connections come and go.

Ive had the same router for a long time and the Router I use is 100% compatible with XBL.

Haven't had any problems unless my opponent has a sucky connection. Was just playing some games against Biolink (who lives in Chicago) and the games felt like offline.

I agree with you that SFAC needs to be backwards compatible. As you said, someone should organize SRK to make a petition or something. Or at least, convince everybody to bombard MS with nuclears emails or something.

I tried resetting my Modem, Router and PC. I cant find a decent connection no more. Games are constantly pausing in mid fight. I used to be able to connect to Rastaman, dude lives a few towns away and now i cant. Yet I am able to connect to Harmonaz and that dude lives in fucking england. XBL is currently worthless for me.

Turn off your pc while playing. It has prolly been infected with spyware or the likes and are posting and broadcasting info from your computer while idling.

In fact make sure that the only device attached to your router is your xbox while
playing online.

I dont have any spyware on my PC. I also dont have any programs running, browsers open, or torrents connected. I might have to upgrade the firmware on my Router. Im gonna investigate this tonight when I get home.

Yeah...it sounds like most of the issues are regarding your side of the connection. Besides...Xbox Live is Player to Player online meaning the connection is only as good as the connection between the 2 players. If one person has issues it screw up the connection and the connection between the 2 players are the real factor behind how good the connection is. Asking Xbox to fix the servers won't do anything. Not like they would listen any ways.

whoooaaa...DJ, remember what happened in CVS like 2-3 yrs ago, when MS fucked up the servers and EVERYONE lagged/got kicked out of matches. Maybe this is happening to 3s, last night i had a little trouble connecting to people but once i got in the match it was fine.

Yeah...I do remember that but overall the game connection is mostly dependent on the players. Having good net code and a decent server helps but outside of those variables with the way XBL connects the two players...the connection between both players is still the most important factor.

live does not dictate how much lag there is in a match. the games connect strictly peer to peer with no master server in the middle. while you play, you are still connected to the live server (hence why you can still access friends lists, messages, etc... so when live goes down, its possible the game can still go down midmatch. but other than that, live does not affect lag in anyway in a match, its all dependant on the reliablity of your connection and the opponents. and more importantly, the upload speed of the person that is hosting the game. but since its only a 2 player game, that part is moot point and only applies to the games with more than 2 players

my 2 cents.. turn off your IM clients and you will notice a difference.. shoudlnt have anything using anybandwith if you want the best connection possible. is there a thread of good non lag tactic non dropping non taunting live 3s players? I really cant stand 90% of the random matches I fight. I just want to play respectable players
