i suppose i could have put this in Ronin's cop thread but i dont want to:
well i just found out that one of my good long time friends just got straight mutilated by the police.
a fight broke out and is already over/contained in the aftermath stages; my friend goes sees whats going on, sees his boy bloodied up, goes up to officer, asks officer what is going on (perhaps not politely enough?)
officer uses entire reserve of strength and body weight to slam him head first into a brick wall and then head first into the ground.
blood is everywhere. everywhere. My friend is like wth did you do that for? Other friends are helping him because he cant even see and bloods is gushing. Cops come by and ask, "who did this to you" (to take statements or whatever). My friends are like "One of you boys did this". Imediately the cops start getting crazy like "NO he didnt, HE DID NOT...." my friend has a buckfifty mohawk going from his upper wigpiece to his forehead (madd stichtes), a gash across his forehead-eye-face, missing teeth, and a permanently damaged lazy eye. dude went from pretty boy to that monster from the goonies. needs madd plastic surgery. Oh yeah, and absolutely noone was arrested at this scene.
so;
if you are a cop and reading this I will naively assume that you are one of the few cops that does not cowardly abuse his power, but:
some people are going to hate you simply because you are a cop, please understand why this is. If you dont understand why it is; It is because of the disgusting abuse of power by so many of your fellow officers is so readily apparent to the average upstanding citizen. Please do not react in malice to this hate, first of all because it is not unreasonable in itself, but also because this only acts to continue the vicious cycle of violence/hate between cops and 'civilians'. Instead of taking your aggressions out on innocent people (which is in direct conflict with your perceived duties) please manifest your frusterations in carrying out your job, presumably for a sense of pride being a cop and for your care of a community you are also a part of (again naively assuming your intentions for joining the police force were honorable). If you actually do the job that is expected of you by the community the relationship between the police and the comunity will take care of itself.
i realize that cops must be trained to be alert and aware due to the fact that they face real dangers all the time, but i dont think anyone would dare use this as a cause of immunity for genuinely malicious behaviour.
and fuck the world
peace
