Anyone seen vol.1 yet?

I saw Vol.1 and i'm kinda disappointed. It just felt like a compressed, mini-movie of the first 4-5 episodes in the original anime series, and not as good too.

It was 'ok' but i kinda expected more. Only thing i really liked was the extended anderson/alucard fight. Otherwise, i recommend the original series over this, which kicked ass. This "ultimate" stuff is like a flawed retelling of it.

This is because you don't know alot about it. This OVA is going to follow the manga much more closely as well has having MUCH better animation quality. What this means is, yes, the first 2 episodes are familar material because the first 6 or so episodes of the TV series WERE from the anime. After that however it will be entirely "new" to people who have only seen the TV series. You'll see a huge difference in quality of story after that

Animation quality of the original series was really great. This one seems about the same, if not a hint or so lower.

And if its supposed to be accurate to the manga, then thus far i'd say the original series did a MUCH BETTER, Less rushed job. All the character development with seras in the first series for example, was thrown out the window here. She just went from being a regular "police girl" to hellsing vampire agent in 8 minutes flat.

Original series took a handful of episodes to establish her character...

Perhaps this would be acceptable if seras was just an "afterthought" in the original manga, whose character was not explored all that much.

no offense read the manga and then rewatch the tv series, the tvseries is big controdiction like the 2d half pretty much craps on the first half.


like vchips, and incogneito. i so can't wait see later chapter in the manga be animated.


trust me the ova which should be 10 eps all togather will flesh out the charcters..
wait till you see sera in the later eps.

ok this how the release dates for ovas be few months in gap like when we get 2d one the 3rd one be out in japan. so the 3rd one should come out her in spring,.

so please give the ova a chance it's really worth the wait.

It's only the first of probably 10-12 episodes, give it a fucking break man. Yeah it was a little rushed, but it's not a huge deal anyway since most of Seras's real character development is later anyway. Something the TV series TOTALLY skipped out on.

Plus if you think the animation quality is equal or lower, you really need to watch the old series again, then compare that to whenever episode 2 comes out. Humongous difference.

After watching vol.1 again, both are about the same animation quality IMO. The character designs in Ultimate are a bit different, like with seras, not a bad thing though.

umm no i mean gonzo just threw him has the main bad guy, but this what really confuses me k

alcuard had no problem beasting the v chip vampires before then when incognito comes around he gives alcuard all he can handle which all he was a v chip vampire.:confused:


heck the nazi ghouls would skin incognito alive.

with what i said in above ,and the how they didn't try explain why the vchips were made by.
,but then again the manga writer took his time with the mangas by then. but yes by the end of ova which should be 10 eps in all. your enjoy the ova far more then tv series. heck ep3 and 4 your see what i'm talking about.

the ultimate shit is so much better than the series, i own the series and i can honestly say i'll never watch it again now that i've seen the ultimate ova.

i agree that the ova is 100X better then the tv series the ova also follows the dark humor of the manga something that the tv series lacked.

the only thing that the tv shows over the ova is the muisc i love shine for the ending theme,but thats really tiny problem.
