Anyone know where I can get some broken strategy's for this game? After playing fighting games competitively, its hard not to play any game without finding the broken shit. I've asked scrubs online and they give me dumbass info like, "aim for the head".

I have noticed that active reload shotgun seems way over powered and the distance for a knockdown becomes huge. I don't like execution too much cause it makes the active reload snipe useless at long ranges, unless you get a headshot.

Another thing that kinda sucks about the game is the lag if you aren't host. It's not just internet connection, I've been to a lan center that has a T1 connection and there is still a big amount of lag in every game. System Link is the only way to play it but even then, I think the host still has host disadvantage (gets more blood on the screen, so its harder to see), I'm not sure on that one though. I think host disadvantage is pretty dumb, but I guess it kinda makes it suck to be host, but it still aint that bad.

The local lan center here is having a tournament on feb 10. I went there a couple of times and everyone there sucks. I was hoping to get my ass beat when I got there so I could learn the game better, but instead I got kicked out of the system link matches cause I was too good. I hope I don't actually win the tournament with the 3 random dudes I joined teams with, that would be stupid.

One more thing anyone know the differences between server-side and client side? I read that each have their advantages and disadvantages.....what are they? In the vid above, it says client side would be much better, which seems kinda obvious, but what are client side drawbacks?

-when hosting games, be sure extreme content is turned off. To leave out the blood splatters you get on your screen.

-turn the vibration off for your controller if you want to snag more accurate shots.

-if your playing with bullet delay, judge your shots .5 seconds ahead.

-aim at the knees and head when against locust, aim at the chest and waist area when against Cog.

-when using shotty, use active reload, ALWAYS. try not to use your left trigger aim so often too, you get better shots off freehanding it.

-when sniping, remain stationary.

-use your hearing to sense your enemies close by.

Again, this is basic knowledge of how the sniper works in GoW. of course your not going to be moving a whole lot when sniping. Have you forgotten what sniping is really all about? being unseen and using tactical stealth to kill. In the game, when moving while aiming your sniper, the bullet will vear way off target. you HAVE to be stationary when firing the gun to get that straight shot.

Slide doesn't work offline. Doesn't work for the host either i dont think.

I didn't know there were "serious" online tourneys for this. If I were a serious Gears player I wouldn't take online serious because the game plays completely different offline. Hell it plays different just if you host because, you know, you're bullets actually connect to your opponent without a 1 and a half seconds lag.

I havent kept up wit the MLG or GB brackets lately. Im trying to get a local scene going, for LAN tournies, I think ONLINE tournies for this game is a joke. who ever hosts, will always beast out on everyone else. and its up to the host to show who's boss practically. everything is always blamed on the host.
