It just happend 2 times in a row with me and hold dat earlier. Now I see that people are also complaining about it in the CVS froums. Is anyone else having this problem? I've never experienced this before.

You mean on rematch? If so, yes I saw that myself. It would take a while to bring up the rematch or character select screen, and sometimes it would boot me, saying there's a problem with XBox Live.

No I mean when you first go to fight someone. You'll go in the room, they accept and it either just hangs or counts to 40% and drops out. I've had it randomly happen before but very rarely. Never this bad, it wouldnt even let me hit B when it said connection failed. It made me wait like a full minute.

This happens like every Xmas weekend. Don't worry. By the end of next week the problems will go away. I'm surprised you don't remember this happening with CVS2 back in the day Scoot.

Well, what about me then? That's been happening to me since about 2 weeks b4 NEC and hasn't stop yet. Either It drops me b4 the character select screen, during that screen, as the intro animations are going through, when round 1 is on the screen, when I have a substantial lead or losing horribly in the first round, right as I deal the death blow, or right after the match on the rematch screen. I'm thinking it's either my xbox getting to old, maybe my router or modem needs to be power cycled, or it's Comcast. Any help would be much appreciated.

That sounds like a totally different prob.
First do this speed test. Pick the test closest to you.

I can't decide which server is closest for me; Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, New York or Washington.
I guessed Atlanta.
Anyway, 2407kb/s up 221kb/s down. Meh.

Yeah...some people have been complaining but I haven't reached any of these problems as of yet. The only people I have trouble with are the ones who have crappy connections. Seeing that my connection is super fast now I really don't have much any problems unless you live far out west or outside of the country. Which I don't really play against those people any ways.

Those speeds seem fine man. 360 upload isnt too bad but with download speeds like you have I figured it would be higher. You definetly shouldnt be lagging like you say though.
Best bet is to switch to a wired connection if you're on wireless or change your ethernet cable.

My speeds are pretty much the same as Mak3's. Dunno if he is on cable internet, I am, I sent an e-mail asking my ISP asking if they planned to boost the upload anytime soon and they told me no. Annoying as hell when you use share ratio torrent sites! Have to spend days on end sharing back what you downloaded..
XBL seemed better for me today, it was shitty yesterday, yellow diamonds on CVS2 and failed connects on 3S.
Edit: XMM, this test seems a little more accurate for UK users.

Yea, I'm wired with cable internet, through Comcast. B4 I actually really understood 3s, I had a perfect connection. No dropped games, very little lag. All was like bliss. Then I understood too much... My playability sky rocketed, I had found Q... Now getting 3 matches with the same person is asking alot (c list of problems above.) I will try changing my ethernet cord, as was suggested, and hope that works. Thnx. Since it's almost that time... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Sometimes the cable modem you use or get from the ISP doesn't have the right configuration file so you might want to ask the ISP to take a look and see if the configuration file is correct.

SB5120 Surfboard Cable Modem. Bought it 6 months ago, switch it with their rental modem 4 months ago. They have already configured it while I was on the phone with them. It has only been acting this way for the past 1 month and 3 weeks.
