Yes, that's right SRK, today I moved out of my parents' house. The feeling of freedom that has overwhelmed me has caused me to create this thread about finally getting a place of my own.:lovin:

Anyone else have any memorable stories of moving out of their parents' dungeon?:wonder:

Ninja EDIT: Not only did I move out, but I did it a day before my 21st birthday!

I moved out when I was 18.

My grandma was having financial issues after my grandpa passed and my parents finished paying her bills..and a long big story later, they had to move to arkansas and wanted me to go with them. So I basically said "Fuck that" and moved into with some friends.

Are you in college now? Or did you just straight up move out of the house?

And how did you get enough money to move out?

Yes I'm in college now and I'm also working full-time. There comes a point when you go to school from 9-4 then work from 5-10 and you realize you don't want to come home to bitching from your parents.

Working 5 hours a day doesn't sound like a full time job, unless you got it the other way around... which is still somewhat short.

heh, prepare to be broken in to reality when all this kicks your ass. Time to man up and utilize your true priorities rather than thinking your "FREE" it will only last for so long until the time comes... your just reveling in the fact that your outies and saying a big fuck you to home when you'll eventually be saying fuck me to bills and responsibility. Good luck kid, your going to need and welcome to the real world.

Hope you don't starve. A lot of people think they're shooting straight just cuz they leave home, then they look at bills and realize they have little to no money for food...d'oh! THEN they fuck around and get their girl preggers...

Actually it's 34 to 36 but it's still full time. Anything over 35 in my book.

I moved out last year. Just as a few words of advice:

- Make a realistic budget for yourself. If your budget says you have $25 a week to burn being stupid, then only spend $25. You don't really notice you don't have the money to blow until some other bill/priority comes up and it hits you you spent the excess cash on food/going out/video game

- Learn to properly grocery shop. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to buy the right kind of food. Don't spend $5 on a sandwich at some random deli when you can take that $5 and buy bread for a week, the condements and the meat for days.

- Keep your place clean. Leaving it in shambles leads to all kinds of problems like infestation.

- Make it a point to meet your neighbors. When you've met them, make it a point to be respectful of their sleeping habits and/or issues like if they have babies or they have irregular working shifts. If you think parents bitch, wait until you get neighbors that will just go to the landlord every time they have beef with you.

Good luck in your endeavour.

Great Tips, Nagata.

I´m waiting ´till i get graduated from school. It really sucks if someone get out of his house being the all macho prototype, and return 2 weeks later all ashamed and starving.

RL is not an MMORPG... LOL XD ... Gils, Zennys and Rupees doesn´t come from brushes.
