Well basically for the upcoming spring 07 semester of school my financial aid has been cancelled, and i have the option to write an appeal letter. Now normally my gpa has been at least 2.4 or higher, but this semester it dropped, but i have alot of legit personal reasons and would like to make a appeal letter, namely cuz my sister was sick claiming she was raped, but she wasnt, and she suffered (still suffering) from meningitis like symptoms, but thats a whole different thread... i pretty much wrote most of the letter out, and its due this upcoming wednesday to be considered for financial aid for the spring semester...
any tips for writing a appeal letter as far as formatting and introduction and conclusion for an appeal letter? i've never had to write one before and i need to get this financial aid . Any help and input given is appreciated..
and like i said the body of it is already done its about a good 2-3 pages (should it be doublespaced?) i jus need a few tips on formatting and the intro and conclusion

Out of all honesty in my opinion, writing an appeal saying my sister got pretendy raped wont do... Oh, another story, right... Well, Start off with an intro which shouldn't be hard to do. Then break down your reasons and seperate them into paragraphs, beggining, middle and end. A good way to end might be to sumarise on what you would like to achieve by overcoming all these reasons... Unless you give us more dirt there's nothing really else I can help you with.

well basically something happened to her whether she was out with somebody or something, she started off her story saying she got raped...then she couldnt remember anything or where she had been...
then it turns out that she had not been going to school and missed all her finals, couldnt remember where she been at, couldnt remember me, or simple stuff...the doctors thought it was meningitis, but they did tests and it wasnt but sumthign similiar shes in a psych ward now, she kept running towards windows in our house saying she wanted to kill herself and making suicide threats.. she actually fought my parents to the point where she had to be taken away they had to call 911 on her...i had to miss a few days of school and all that goin on pretty much was a distraction in itself all happening at one time, and shes still locked up in the psych ward..she spent all of december in there.. she claims myspace and facebook drove her crazy but shes so bad now to the point where she blurts out random things like she lost it completely...
the doctors still havent pinpointed what exactly is wrong with her, they're just classifying it as a nervous break down with psychotic episodes, and shes saying shes hearing voices in her head...stuff like that...my family has no illnesses of the sort so its kinda hard to trace exactly waht it is...i pretty much incorporated all of that into the appeal letter that i wrote tho i think its a legit reason for an appeal my gpa has been fairly consistent since i've been in school, usually 2.4-3.0

You may want to get another opinion on this, but by the sounds of things, imo, you haven't got anything to worry about. This is a serious issue and is bound to effect someones grades. Might I suggest going to the doctors for depression, the more proof you have on how this is actually effecting you, the better off it will be. Good luck anyway dude...
